@@jaredho7676 Yeah, there's tons of good 60% options. Sadly you'll have to go with a tray mount so no fancy gasket, top or o-ring mounting for this. I guess you could do tray-mount with o-rings between the standoffs and PCB.

@@farlig8666 Some tray mounts out there are still well designed. The Fjell is still among one of my favorite keyboards, despite being a traymount. (Gonna be a bit semantic, but tray mount isn't necessarily bad, just the standardized mounting holes for 60% and 65% are terrible for consistency. Same goes with most mass-manufactured keyboards with tray mount. The ABKO AR87 was a very good board when it was available from what I remember.)

I've searched everywhere and this is the closest keyboard that checks those boxes. I dont care about RGB or even wireless capabilities. I just want a mechanical, magic keyboard feeling keyboard. I waited for other companies to make something to compete with the K100 air but so far, nothing. The closest i found was actually made by Red Dragon but it's a membrane. 10:38 I'm literally only considering this keyboard to hopefully get the Mac keyboard experience, as in the 2010-2014 era (went downhill in the late 2010s when they changed the switches/overall keyboard design). Love my MacBook Pro mid-2012 and still going strong all these years later, had a Magic Keyboard for an iMac around that time too which was fab. Bought a Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 Low Profile to try to achieve that same experience when I switched to PC but it's just awful, especially for the £170 price tag. The Nuphy Air 60/75 which do use more basic low profile switches (gateron red blue and brown) but cuts the cost down to just $110 just seems like a more reasonable way to get low profile. I like a full keyboard, and I want the wireless not for the portability but so I'm not tripping over wires if I'm gaming from my bed or my couch. I feel like I'm firmly embedded in Corsair's iCue ecosystem at this point, (even though I much preferred Razer's Synapse software and I think their KBs and mice are as good as Corsair's) so this was pretty much the only option and the price didn't really factor into my decision, I just waited for an Amazon sale.

I use the Keychron K5 SE with low profile optical switches and the biggest pet peeve has been how often I'd accidentally hit the Caps Lock key during a match, but it feels really nice to use with fast response. With the actuation point being really low and light the key presses can be, it can be very easy to press the wrong key, but the fatigue it reduces along with the sensation when you use it, may not be for everyone, but can be a welcome experience when you are using it for an extended period of time

This sounds like its the profile of the magic keyboard with mechanical keys, it actually sounds perfect to me. I might have to break it badly for you: I've own several chiclet, and even with my 'premium' one (w/c is Logitech MX keys), gaming with it is doable but it would never be meant for any type of competitive gaming (esp the likes of FPS or any games that would require spamming keys) as the very profile itself (the low and short travel distance) actually would just tire your fingers way easier and hammering them won't do any better.
I'm just as the same as you when it comes to loving chiclet profile but sadly, they really ain't cut for general gaming - casual games might do it but that's about it.

I think the full-size dilemma might be a personal thing, as majority of the people that I know of (who intensively plays games) would still prefer it big (they never cared about the keeb sizes, they consider the small form factor for the niche ones).
My only concern (as an owner of multiple chiclet keebs) is: gaming with chiclet keys (or something similar) tends to tire your fingers in a long session, and when the tension moment comes, hammering those keys would just makes it worst. Competitive gaming usually doesn't sit well with chiclets and the only interest left for me is how its NKRO actually delivers. Other than that, I have yet to see some REAL GAMING reviews coming from this keeb.

I think gaming market is over hyping the general mechanical tall switch scene. I personally want a thinkpad feel low profile. And thank the gods for this ulp cherry switch. Honestly if lenovo came out with thinkpad gaming keyboard wirh the exact switches they use on laptops i would throw whatever i have on ebay immediately. There isnt better feeling kb then a thinkpad when it comes to low pro.

I like low profile for typing, work stuff in general, but not for gaming. So for personal all around use tall keys are the way to go really.
As for this keyboard specifically i think it's too expensive for a workbench type o situation or on the office exploitation workhorse, too big to carry around too use with a table or whatever and for home the keys being slim not that prone for general purpose and kind of not that good for gaming while being wireless is kind o pointless. It's maybe too broad oriented to actually fit a role.

As the proud owner of a Madcatz TE2 customized with GamerFinger (yes, that is their name) buttons with Silver Cherry's, with an extending shaft, and an Octalgate restrictor whom has been lusting for years over the Victrix Pro FS.... Someone will by that keyboard, not me and likely not more that half of the comment section but someone will. Other than that, I can't say shit.

280 bucks for a prebuilt is honestly past the point of worth it, a kit from QwertyKeys will run you about as much (under $200 for the kit + $80-100 for the switches, keycaps, lube, film, lubing tools, and keyswitch opener) for a better typing experience, more customisability, but the kits are only purchasable during short group buys.

I think you miss the point because you don''t necessarily like low profile keyboards. I absolutely HATE those high profile keyboards, they even hurt my wrist and slow me down. I type extremely fast (according to friends and typeracer) and most of is due to the fact that a low profile lets my fingers drag across the keys I have to switch.

I love laptop keyboard since I grew up playing on them. I have owned the razer deathstalker and the Logitech G 915. Still not thin enough for my tastes.
Would love to try this one since its closer to the chiclet style I like.

Tjhe K100 Air is a good keyboard. Got mine for $214,,, well worth the grip. Paired it up with a Dark Core. Good setup. I also have a Blackwidow V3 paired up with a Basilisk Ultimate and the poor Razer looks, feels and sounds like a Model A Ford with bad connecting rods,, green switches,,, lmao. It's in the box in backup duty. I do have a Deathstalker due in this week. But like all other Razer products the awful software puts them in the hole right off the bat.

I just don't like low-profile keyboards at all. Something about them feels uncomfortable for me, which is a big thing for me because my job requires me to type a lot. It's crazy because I do like laptop keys, but not low-profile keyboards.

Nice gimmick. It looks pretty, but mostly unnecessary. Either you can’t see the legends on the keys or if you touch type it doesn’t matter (might even distract) you. If it were a raspberry pi itself that would be cool though
