Dust rocks!, I still need to get their first album, the one with the skeletons on the cover. The Moray Eels album was a difficult listen, but I'm liking it more each time I hear it. Thanks for tuning in and take care.
Those Pebbles comps are excellent , especially the early volumes ( 1 - 10 ) . I love this 60s garage comps a lot ( Pebbles , Boulders , Nuggets , Highs In The Mid 60s ... ) Replacements forever brother , together with Husker Du best thing out of Minneapolis in the 80s . I am going to check out that Idle Race album , Thanks again for video and information , regards from Belgium
I have about 15 different garage psych comps all from different series, some of the ones you mentioned plus Teenage Shutdown, and Sugarcube Flashback. These comps are a great way to discover obscure garage rock bands. Yes, Replacements and Husker Du were both excellent bands, but were overlooked at the time they were active. Hope you like the Idle Race! Thanks for your comments Jason, Cheers!
I have two Holy Modal Rounders LPs, the one you're holding and their flipped out 1967 psych LP "Indian War Whoop", which is on ESP. They dropped the F-Bomb on the back of the album cover. They are interesting in an odd kind of way. I just ordered the live Wall of Voodoo RSD LP. After Vinyl Richie showed his, I ordered one right away. Cool showing Michael, and thanks for your personal insights.
Didn't know about the Indian War Whoop album, I'll definitely check it out. Speaking of ESP, have you heard a band on that label called the Godz? They were a weird experimental avant garde group from NYC and put out at least 3 albums on ESP. I'll probably order that Wall of Voodoo album too, never even saw it on RSD. Thanks for tuning in Ron.
I have never seen the International Submarine Band LP before, but when I came across it at my local record store, I knew I couldn't just leave it behind. It's a great album. Thanks for tuning in, and I hope you find the album someday!
Hi Michael, You found a copy of the Jet album 👍 I was lucky many years ago I got a box set of the first 12? I think pebbles compilations on CD The Idle race yes Jeff Lynn local to me back in the day! Spacemen 3 we certainly know about them! A great selection Michael I found a single by the Wingmen which is members of the Stranglers Damned Ruts etc! Hard to find on RSD but I got one and paid a lot 😂 don't forget after Jet came Radio Stars virtually the same line up! Take care Michael speak next week! 😂
I knew about Radio Stars, but I didn't know they had the same lineup as Jet. I have many garage punk comps, not just Pebbles, I only have two volumes of those. The Wingmen sounds interesting, but I think that was only released in the UK. Thanks as always for tuning in Ian, hope you have a great week.🙃
rock on, michael! thanks for another great vid! i remember the first time i heard the perfect prescription and got blown away. love the warmth of the sound of that album too. i’ll have to check out simply saucer, very intrigued.
Yes, Spacemen 3 blew my mind too, such a great band, if you like them, check out a band called the Darkside, one guy in the band is an ex member of the Spacemen, their album is titled All That Noise, I highly recommend that and the Simply Saucer LP, both excellent albums. Thanks for tuning in, glad you enjoyed the vid.
i’ll have to check out that Darkside record… somehow must have missed it! thanks for the tip on that. i love the post-spacemen 3 sonic boom/spectrum stuff, and the early spiritualized records (really the first). i saw spectrum around 2007… fantastic show. the sense of mind-expanding focus on stage seemed unchanged from the spacemen days. hope your week’s going well!
I have their second album, Godz 2, which has a great song on it titled Radar Eyes, that was covered by the Fuzztones on their Lysergic Emanations LP. I have never seen a Godz album in the wild, I got mine on Discogs.
Michael when the music started, I thought it were The Seeds but then you said it was Q65! I had/have a song of them on a compilation. There are also The Outsiders from The Netherlands; also great stuff. I have their debut album from 1967, recorded alsp live, partially I think. Let me think on the MC5, their debut album, which was also live. I go wednesday to a record fair and hope to buy there their 2nd album. greetz from Belgium Jason
I have an Outsiders album called CQ, as in "Seek You". It's really good and sounds very psychedelic. There's another band from the Netherlands called Group 1850 that's really good and I have a few of their albums also. Thanks for your comment Jason, and hope you find what you want at the record fair.
Hello Michael, Hope you're doing well. I have a couple of dB's records, but that one is new to me. I've never seen that Martha Velez album either, need to check it out. I picked up the Dirty Heads and the Stones on RSD. Take care.
Hi Ralph, the dB's album I showed I believe is their first from 1982. If you like blues rock, you might like Martha Velez, lots of cool people on that one. Cool you got the Dirty Heads and the Stones, great choices! Thanks for tuning in Ralph, hope you're doing well too.
Very nice Suicide Commandos album, I like that. Huge fan of Spacemen 3 but you know that. I have a couple Holy Modal Roundedrs albums but I struggle with them. I should probably purge them. Also a cool batch of music.
Hi Steve, the Suicide Commandos LP completes the catalog of Blank Records, the label only released two albums, then quickly folded. The other album was Pere Ubu's Modern Dance. I know the HM Rounders can be a difficult listen, but I enjoy them despite their weirdness. Thanks for tuning in, and have a great week.
This Dutch band Q65 is killer, very authentic to.lets say 1966. Love The Db's.. I don’t have that one, actually. The Mono Men is a good suggestion. I finally got a copy ( repress ) of Intl. Submarine Band, not long ago. 🎵 I will try and stream your new Replacements, hopefully someone will have posted it by now.
Funny you should say the Q65 song was authentic to 1966, because it was from 1966! The album I showed is a comp of tracks the band recorded between '66 to '69. I love the Mono Men, just need 2 more of their albums to complete the catalogue. I've never seen that International Submarine Band album before, I knew what it was, I just never see it in the wild, so I had to grab it. Thanks for tuning in Jt, take care.
I didn't catch that part in your rundown of Q65.. Killer band, Michael. I like it ! Cool that you have a copy of Intl Submarine Band. Gene Clark with The Gosden Brothers .. ( Early 1967 ) Gene's debut, would be a good bookend for the Gram LP !
Dantalian's Chariot is a great band, dont know where to start on Pebbles, but looks cool, That Martha album looks cool also, . I see the Holy Modals in the bins on occasion They became the Fugs. I love the Bird song. great info, Elvin is the only member of The Butterfield Band still alive? peace Micheal
Hi Dave, Dantalion's Chariot is actually a band called Zoot Money Big Roll Band, they did soul and R&B covers in the early 60s, then in 1967, they changed their name to DC and jumped on the psychedelic bandwagon. The Fugs used the Modals as a backup band as they weren't musicians, just poets. At least that's the way I heard it! I'm not sure if Elvin Bishop is still alive or not, I'll have to look it up on Wikipedia, but man I love the Butterfield Blues Band, there album East/West is fantastic and I still need their first one and the Resurrection of Pigboy Crabshaw, which I think is their 4th. Thanks for tuning in Dave, and PEACE to you as well my friend.
You had me with the Dust album over your shoulder. Thanks for sharing these, Moray Eels is one I have been keeping my eyes out for.

@@nearwildheaven4840 Dust does rock!! I was fortunate enough to find the RSD release from a few years ago that had both albums together.

I've been looking for that International submarine band album for years out in the wild! I'm a huge Gram Parsons fan. Thanks for sharing!
