Iâm from Ecuador and it is a 3rd world country and very dangerous so I understand that they wouldnât film in here. But we have very few beautiful histories, and Arthur is Ecuadorian and his story happenned here and they didnât even mention that in the movie. This wasnât a story about the race it was about Arthur and the bond they formedâĪ. The rest is filler.
Do you think that Dominican Republican is the first world and less dangerous?
Your review is all over the place. Probably all over more places than Arthur has been.

I misread the title and thought it was Marley and Me lol
It's been a while since I watched that, but I remember really not liking it lol.
If you ever rescue a dog you would know they get very attach with his rescuer and have separation ansiety most of their new life. And I donât think the author was racist but dogs do recognize body shapes and smell and they sometimes gets confused with people with similar complexions because theyâre familiar.
Yeah it definitely makes sense arthur got so attached!
I don't think the author is racist either, but I still think it was a line that didn't need to be in the book.
HeyâĪ
woah your section about the arthur foundation was super interesting and very down-to-earth. I got second-hand embarrassment from reading that "because I'm tall and fair like you" line...
Yeah definitely an unnecessary line!
Thanks!

If you like nonfiction, I'd recommend comparing the the book 'The Disaster Artist', by Greg Sestero, to the movie with James Franco.
I didn't read or watch this one, because as much as I love dogs, I'm not all that crazy about dog stories. Sounds like I didn't miss much....haha
Yeah that should be an interesting one to get into.
Look forward to streaming this film knowing the dog lives. Tom Hanks once jokingly said the biggest mistake in his career was having the dog die at the end of 1989's "Turner and Hooch". Have a movie recommendation I know you'll like and insist you watch....2023 documentary "Just.One.Mile". Runners race a continuous one mile loop over a mountain in Tennessee until only one is left 30 hours later. AMAZING film about what the human body and mind can do. It's 4 bucks online. So worth it.
I usually hate when a dog dies in a book or movie not because I necessarily find it sad, but because it seems like a cheap, manipulative way to force an emotion from the audience. It has to be done right for me to like it. I've never seen Turner and Hooch though.
And I'll look into that! I love watching documentaries about running!
Nice review as usual. I can't stand Mark Walberg but I enjoyed your review, hahaha.
Glad you liked my review!
The Dominican Republic wants film tourism, which is time dependent. In addition to Arthur the King, the recent David Fincher film The Killer also had a significant portion of the movie taking place in the Dominican Republic.
Finding Gobi is a better version of this 'same' man-meets-dog story.
The movie was not well acted or shot, but has some nice scenery.
I live in the Dominican Republic a majority of the time. If you have not lived in a second or third world country, then you don't know what you are talking about.
Morality IS is in fact directly correlated with intelligence, statistically.
The most successful sprinters are in fact going to have heritage in sub-saharan Africa. It is reality. However, if you want an engineer or a plastic surgeon, they will VERY likely be from another region.
I have been to many second and third world countries and I comport myself appropriately, and in many situations I am assumed to be better behaved (statistically of course), with cause, for multiple reasons, and since I am a non-sociopathic intelligent educated person, I don't disappoint their assessment.
Income is correlated with intelligence and intelligence is correlated with morality. Tightly. Very very tightly. Anyway you could possibly think about society or judge society, it is going to be evaluated through some measure that is related to intelligence.
A person should be very cautious regarding their ideology. No person should have an ideology that is in conflict with reality, but since all ideologies require the perfect ability of human beings, every ideology is a problem. This does not mean that there are not exceptions to the rule and it does not mean that we cannot have expectations that aspire to the best behaviors and achievements.
I find a lot of people like this author are driven by a weird form of blind ambition, and this author sounds this type of person.
