Arthur sadly passed on December 8th 2020. The family will not get another dog. Mikael was quoted as saying "Arthur is the only dog I've had and the only one I'll ever have. We had six amazing years together. We have been lucky to be able to work from home and be together all the time. Thank you Ecuador for us being able to borrow such a beatuiful soul"
I just finished reading the book. I was amazed at what lengths Arthur went to be able to be with the person he chose. It’s really an awesome feeling being selected by a dog that is so in need of love and a good home. I had a rescue dog pick me and my hubby. I was so taken by the connection being instantly made. I lost her two years ago to cancer;( I am sad to learn that Arthur has passed. I am so glad he had a wonderful rest of his life with the person he wanted for his care giver and companion. God bless all who helped this innocent creature get veterinary care and a good home.
You are a beautiful family and the addition of Arthur is a bonus. I am so happy that Arthur can be an abassador for the street Dog's in Equador. Dog's are amazing Animal's and deserve to be treated kindly. They can change everyones life for the better and people should only get a Dog from a rescue shelter. There are too many waiting and hoping for a home with a family like this compassionate Swedish family.
He looks like my dog, a Labradoodle and she is very loyal and goes with me on long trail walks near where I live here in Alberta.She even let me know when somebody was trying to break into my pickup truck during the early hours of the morning. I'm glad that you had the heart to adopt him.He definitely has a good home now. As for you Mikael, you have demonstrated the best principles of sportsmanship.....not only how you and your team played the game but in the view of the whole world...... how you really won the game.
Absolutely! It is tailor made for a movie, because it's a true story. I hope the dog wasn't too old, so that it can enjoy a number of years in Mikael's home.
I read the Vets estimated him to be about 3 at the time of his journey. An older dog could never have made it like Arthur managed. Even w/his bad health & wounds. Just *amazing!*
What a kind, kind man, taking care of a stray dog like that in that situation. Now he should be a living saint. And he is so cute too! LOL!! And I know cute when i see it. I am 63 years old. Ha, ha!!!
I've read the book, I think it's called something like:"The dog that came out of the Jungle!" It is fascinating to read. This Swedish guy and his wife are amazing!! And Arthur is part of the family now. It happens that a dog adopts a human, it's so heart warming!!❤
