  • In this video we are going to show how to replace fuel filter on your diesel engine. Car we are working today with is 2002 9th generation Toyota Corolla 2.0l D-4D hatchback. This engine (1CD-FTV) is used in the Toyota Corolla, RAV4, Avensis and other vehicles. Recommended fuel filter change interval is: 4 year or 60000 km. Some symptoms of a bad fuel filter are: hard starting, stalling, random misfires or rough idle.

The best part is that you can predict the problems that may be encountered and give advice. For example, if the car didn't start after I changed this filter, I would just sit there and not be able to do anything. Thank you man.

Well done!!, I wouldn't start the engine without the air filter attached first though, It's not like anything is going to break, but any bit of dust or whatever the intake hose can suck accidentally is going directly to the turbocharger, I'd rather not!

There are no turbochargers on a 2002 Corolla

What kind of engine oil are you using on the O rings/gaskets? Should i just use the same type of oil my engine takes? It seems a bit weird putting engine oil where fuel will be

Hello, we used fresh engine oil(10w-40). Yes you can use same type of oil your engine takes just make sure you put only a thin layer of it. Oil on filter o-ring ensures that dry friction will not interfere with full tightening also it creates a better seal.
