Interesting guitar with first few frets apparently corrected for intonation. It is a blues progression, and Gambale just plays his thing which is an honest harmonically-reach fusion shred. I like to listen to him once in a while and watch his right hand, even though his articulation is quite flat, this is because of the saturated tone that needs to allow for these quick passages.
I’d need balls of steel to throw in some of those “ wrong notes” at a blues jam. If you do, and you play with conviction, it’s jazz rock.🎸 If you just let a few of these notes in..... they just sound like bum notes and you’re toast 😁
