    This is a brilliant exercise. Although I haven't tried it, I am going to be taking this out to the range tomorrow and can easily see this helping. My irons have a slight fade, but this will no doubt help me straighten it out.

    I am no expert but logically this makes no sense to me - why would the club face open at impact if the hands are ahead of the ball. Isn't it the case that the hands are ahead of the ball at initial address? If this is correct, would the club face not return to the same position at impact as it was at address?

      The club face does not always return to the same position. Some golfers need to have a club face a little open or closed at address for the club face to be square at impact.
