I'm so glad you showed the box from 1975. I built that model probably 76 or 77. Anyway I remembered the sections the turbo lift to the view screen on Scotty's side was missing. But on the new box it's the other side of the bridge that's missing, from Spock's section to the view screen. I thought I had completely remembered it wrong but now I see they have changed it even if it is an old kit. Also it did not have the accurate detail of Spocks station with the scope. Nice to see they have improved this.
My Mom gave this to me for my birthday. Glad to see this build so I can follow along. Of course you have to use the Klingon D7 on the main screen!! It's too cool. Thanks for the upload!
And conversely, a more accurate main viewer piece. Each have the opposite problem of the other. The door is too large and too shallow, the viewer too small and too deep. But to correct those, the floor sections would also need to be corrected . I know somebody will point out, "Hey, they went to the trouble of making female body parts and a collection of ten all new heads. Why not do those panel and floor pieces as few?" *Sigh*... I have no idea. But it is something that always irked me since its initial '75 release.

That was very good. Your bridge looks terrific. I am, surprised, however, that they didn't include a floor

I have always found the originsl series bridge fascinating.
Yet I wish they would also release the bridge of the D :)
They need to make models of all the starship bridges
Their change was adding in the full bridge. You had to buy two of them back in the day. Bonus was the added crew members.

It seems a bit light on chairs? The filming set tended to have a chair at every station.
I cannot believe that after all of the reissues of this kit that they couldn’t give us an accurate elevator door part.
