I'm newish and have read, watched and listened to a lot of dialogue and just the amount of speech alone is odd considering their quietness in lore but all that attitude threw me off and the Less commands, more questioning each other, kinda of seem like a shaky unit all together Any words friend?

@@messyjesse1173 - 'Young Bucks' will always challenge their elders. This has been the case since the dawn of time. To present future super-humans as somehow devoid of this behaviour trait would make all tales a little less believable; there would be nothing for us to get our teeth into.
The Medic's approach to the hot-headed 'young' Space Marines is to pitch hard-won hard-truths in plain speech. The Captain - being a Captain - uses his position and authority, but he doesn't throw his weight about. Also, notice that the Captain respects the Medic: I have the feeling that the Medic is older than the Captain, and the Captain respects him, in his own way.

All things considered, this was pretty good. One thing they did not get right, but very very few ever do, is the weight of a Space Marine. A couple times they had them walking on stuff that would NOT be able to support a 1000+ pound Space Marine. Hell, they had a bunch of them standing on an old, wooden bridge that looked so unstable that I would be hesitant to stand on it by myself as a regular person. Also, they wouldn't be able to move around quite as silently as they do, there's only so much that special training and equipment can do when you're running in metal boots on a metal or stone floor.
But, as I said, almost nobody gets it right anyway. The only ones I can think of immediately are the Astartes series and the Spacehulk: Deathwing game.

@@RelativelyBest Yeah but imagine how long that will take for a studio. Pederson took hella long just to make an animated short that is about 15 minutes long. This must have taken a very very long time, and for all it's worth it's a very solid animation, just has a bit of a strange texture look to it, almost like clay or play dough, but solid nonetheless.

This feels clunky like Legos but it's amazing for the budget and the technology available at the time. The buildup of suspense was very well done because the entire time I was wondering what was beyond all the smoke and the clouds in the storm a few things felt predictable but for the most part definitely caught me off-guard I'm just recently getting into the entire lore and backstory of 40K thank you a decade later for making this.

I don't know what computers or programs they were using at the time whenever this was made but I messed around with a very small amount of 3D animation on a very low end PC and just rendering a still image took forever so I can only imagine how long this took to render along with animation and everything else it's just very trippy to think about.

Ya know, for a 3 million dollar budget... this is really god damn good work. I seen FAR worse with FAR more of a budget. The voice acting is on point (John Hurt as a chaplain? Oh hell yes) the setting and aesthetic are PERFECT, the music was pretty badass, and... I dunno, I'm pretty happy with it.

@@averageenclaveenjoyer7659 damn and the movie is practically 75 minutes. Damn impressive. Although I don't get why GW didn't put more effort into this project. Would have really sparked more interest into the franchise.

I've been delving into 40K for about 3 or so years now and have never heard of this until today. Thank you for up loading it. The music and sound design was on point but what really impressed me was the voice actors. The story was simple, but IMHO very well executed. It derived on everything it set up which is not easy to do and was well paced.
I'm just really grateful for the team behind making this. In the grim dark future of the 21st Century when we are so starved of 40K content it is quite refreshing to have something like this. It's like a pure distillation of the 40K mythos.
Another shout out to the inclusion of prayers spoken by the Astartes and Tech priests. It really brings you into their world as they pray not just for ritual sake but for keeping focus and moral. It's a good detail.
All in all, it's a good watch and I'm definitely coming back to this some time.
