  • Sharing a special video as an insight of the exhibition #IHavetoThinkAboutIt. The artist David Lamelas talks about his artwork "Film Script (Manipulation of Meaning)".
The work consists of the simultaneous reproduction of a 16 mm film and three different slide sequences. First shown at the Nigel Greenwood Gallery in London, filming took place in the gallery itself, starring Greenwood's assistant Lynda Morris. The sequence of mundane, documentary-like actions undertaken by the woman throughout the film is divided into different space-time sections and replayed, in full or in part, in a different order in each of the slide shows. According to the artist: "The subtitle of the work is 'Manipulation of Meaning'. The idea was to show how a fact can be manipulated through image editing - for censorship, commercial or political purposes".
