- Reaction To Sven Melander - Fred på jorden
This is my reaction to Sven Melander - Fred på jorden
In this video I react to Swedish comedian Sven Melander and his hilarious skit Fred på jorden
#sweden #comedy #reaction
Original Video - • Sven Melander - Fred p...
So, This is a swedish comedy sketch from 1985. Many swedes consider this one of the greatest sketches ever made. And true, its Legendary. Sven Melander R.I.P
Yes, it is one of the best Swedish skits. Perfect for that time and, at the same time, timeless in a sense. Sven Melander, what a guy😂
This was filmed in one catch
Norwegian here. Can confirm both the man and this sketch is truly legendary.
And at our childrens schoolyard in Gamla Stan in Stockholm @@micaellindgren1392
NA MEN VAFAN E DU DOM I HUVET
Sven Melander was indeed a legendary journalist, actor, comedian, TV host, script writer, and in later years something of an "influencer for social conscience" on social media. RIP.
I think that people always forget the journalist part.
Most comedians do have an actual education, often in the humanities field, since otherwise they wouldn't be able to make jokes that comment on our society here and now. A lot of classic literature is that, by the way, it's just that we don't understand the jokes since we don't have the context for them.
Sven is a legend here in Sweden. I saw in an interview, just before he passed away in cancer, amongst all the crazy stuff he has done in television through the years this clip is one of the things he was the most proud of.
And very bitter at the end.
The girl Anna, whose real name is Emilie Hall Gjers, was 6 years old when this was recorded and she works today as a teacher. Many people think that Emilie was Sven's real daughter, but that is not true. In an interview with Emilie, she said: "My mother was a producer for Nöjesmassakern and I remember that Sven didn't know his lines and that I had to teach him them. Sven thought it was funny that a six-year-old girl had to teach him, says Emilie"
As several have pointed out, not only is this a funny skit, but also a sarcastic stab at a lot of journalists/reporters who often pose leading questions in order to get an answer that is in line with their own opinion. This is a practice that still isn't uncommon today.
And Sven knew how journalists are, becourse he had a journalist background
Dont forget how well the girl acts. When she says "War?" you can hear the surprise in her voice.
I love when he pushes her away at the end :)
Yeah lol, mission accomplished, now get away!
Swedish comedy is quite similar to British. Dry, dark, self-deprecative, puns, over the top insults, understatements...
Perhaps a bit long to react to, and I don't know if there's a version with subs, but "Torsk på Tallin" is a piece of art.
Bellman och Mr Bean möts.
Eller alla barnen.
Indeed "Torsk på Tallin" is a great example of dark Swedish humour. But to be honest it is relatively niche in Sweden too. Many don't understand what's fun with all the depression and sad characters. Maybe a bit like the British "The office" in the awkward characters, but turned up to 11.
true.. what the killing gang did was something new and har to understand for older ppl, the 90s was the ironic era. just crazy without logic, but with an atmosphere so close to reality you coulnd tell what was what.
One of the most classic Swedish comedy skits ever. Remember watching it back in the day and laughing so hard. Still think it's just as funny as in the 80s!
The way he push her out of frame after getting the sought after answer gets me every time 😂
Great reaction to a classic swedish skit (sketch), but the point is not that kids don't get what adults mean, it's that adults push their own views on children. He doesn't care what she wants or thinks, he wants a kid that says she wants peace on earth...
Yes, Melander was a Genius. He is missed ❤
Another Swedish comedy king is Robert Gustafsson! I recommend his stuff from the comedy show "Grogg". Hilarious stuff!
I think Swedes and Brits have a rather similar sense of humour on average! A lot of British comedy does very well in Sweden.
Definitely. I've watched Daniel Sloss live 3 time's. Contrary to popular belief the crowd wasn't boring and laughed along
But american humour like SNL dont work in Sweden, or even outside USA?
SNL is long overdue. It was funny back in the days though.
Spot on! 😊
Cannot count all the British things that were hits in Sweden. Everything with John Cleese, Rowan Atkinsson not to forget the Young ones and Bottom
the funny thing in this sketch is that Sven long ago made fun of journalists who force their own opinions and narratives on the audience 😢
One if the most well known Swedish comedy acts is "Love love peace peace", the middle act in Eurovision 2016.
It's all in English, and explains Eurovision in a very....
Well, just look it up!
Robert Gustavsson doing "Illern Göran" is also a great one!
I second that!
It's also a sketch about a journalist with 'an agenda'. He know the answer he wants but, as they sometimes do, has a hard time getting there. That is why the end is so brilliant when he push the child to the side and 'summarises'. Sven was a journalist for sevaral years before being a part time comedian and knew all about how these interviews worked.
Yeah, a true classic, that skit. Every single swede either saw it back then, in 1985, or have seen it later on the internet. And all of us remember it and will never forget it. Never heard of anyone that doesn't love this skit. A masterpiece. Rest in Peace, Sven! 🥳👏👏👏👍🥇❤️🎉
Some of the stuff from the same time may not have aged very well, but this is just as good as when it originally aired.
Melander was ahead in comedy and pushed the limits sometimes and expanded the genre. He's still a great influence and inspiration.
That's Swedish comedy history - and don't miss out on that final child push away!
One of the best sketches. A lot of it is the delivery of both him and the girl. But also just every aspect of it is top notch.
My dad looked exactly like Sven Melander in 1985. Same glasses, same moustache.
People were shouting "fred på jorden" from across the street.
Sven Melander would have been a great guest at Fawlty Towers ;-) or Manuel's crazy father, haha!
I must recommend "Landsförrädaren" with Sven Melander - I like it very much
My experience is that the British people and us Swedes are very similar in what we like regarding humor. The examples are many...
Sven Milander was not only a comedian but also a accomplished journalist. But as an actor one of his most epic roles was in the 1980 cult classic movie "Sällskapsresan". Where he plays the always drunk Berra. A man going round in a blue T-shirt with the text "Tonight 107 Sweeds gonna get gonorrhea". The movie depicts chartered travel and how sweeds often goes on vacation mainly under organized circumstances.
"I was sorber this morning but now it start to sort things out" Berra(Sven Melanders character) Berra is a funny vino in the movie Sällskapsresan
I can recite this classic, word for word any day. It's hilarious. 😂
This sketch is so simple and true. That's why it will never get old.
😂! Oh, it's been years and years since I saw that one.
Thank you 🤗
You can check out anything with Robert Gustavsson. Gösta Ekman was also a genious in humor. One character was named “Papphammar” Sven and “peace on earth” is legendary, and he made much more.
yes, Papphammar is mostly without speak, so no need for subtitles. Hope though there are some with Robert Gustavsson translated.
Sven Melander - Legend! This is IMO in the top 3 funniest ever skits on Swedish TV. Thanks for checking it out ❤
Sven Melander was a legend. This is perhaps the most famous clip of his career. brilliant stuff.
Love this! Love the late Sven Melander! This is one of his best! 😂
PS. Glad I found your channel!
that comedy sketch is one of the most famous and hilarious pieces of Swedish media ever
Yeah this is a great bit. It's been a very long time since I watched it, so thanks for your video!
Love this one. A classic
I love Sven♥️ It's been a long time since I've seen someone's reaction to this brilliant sketch, I really didn't think you'd get it but I laughed so hard watching you. Thank you, I needed a bit of happiness today. Now I'm gonna watch you again 🩷🩵🌷
I once talked with Sven Melander in Malmö. It was summer and my parents were driving down to Malmö and we sat on a walkway overwatching the Öresund bridge. I remember it very clearly because the sun was right in my eyes and I couldn't look up, but right next to me I hear someone say(in swedish of course) "is it ok if I sit here?" to which I replied "of course". Then his little dog jumped up right next to me and she was so cute and was sniffing me and we shared a few words.
I'll never forget that small but simple encounter. He was a very down to earth kinda guy and very friendly. He will be missed, rest in peace Sven!
Oh my God, this one, I had totally forgotten it xD It was so damn funny
The way he pushed the kid out of view at the end is brilliant. I am a swede of that generation and remember this from TV. Sven Melander was irreverent, slightly unpredictable, and quite funny. He was never the funniest though, there were people both before him and after him that were funnier, but he had stamina/longevity and was a staple of Swedish television for at least a decade (the 80s).
Cheers 🍺
Love you reactions and i love your accent !
👍👍👍💕🇸🇪😎
Ur stuff made me remember my childhood. Sven Melander is one of them. Thank u for makin me remember!
If you can only see one more swedish sketch you must see "Ett kilo mjöl" by Grotesco. Funniest sketch of all time according to me:)
The way he pushes her off screen when he got the "right" answer 😂
It was just normal media, steering the interview to get the answer they want, the final edit looks like this:
- "If you could wish for anything in the world, what would it be?"
- "Peace"
- "So you see, peace is what all children wishes for"
😂
One of the best sketches!
Omg I love "Fred på jorden" I remember the first time I watched it I laughed so much! RIP Sven Melander
Ahhh...a classic!! 🤣😂🤣Thanks for this one!!
I love the humor we have here in Sweden. It's so very absurdist and sarcastic, we really enjoy being very straight laced. It's a lot like British humor in that way, very dry.
Yes Sven was a legend, i´m from Sweden and have seen this comedy sketch many times. :)
-Hegge... dy måtte tänka på posenten, Hegge.
This is such a 80s classic! Wish more Swedish comedy skits had subtitles in English.
She is so right! Excellent.
She took the verbal abuse without blinking to be pushed out of the picture in the end.
😂😢
Took me while to recognize the Scottish accent, thought it was a Danish speaking english.
I've never heard anyone pronounce 'child' like that 😂 Fun Video!
Like your reactions, youre charming and funny - and you actually saw the brilliance in Grotesco, even though It's not your language...
Please keep them coming ✌️👍
Love from Sweden 💖
Comedy from ”Nöjesmasakern” is swedish humor at it best in the late 80s making a mockary of anything in the media and how one should act 🤗
Comedy g🤩ld. Sven Melander, what an absolute legend 😂
Absolute legend
Morran & Tobias is right up your alley.
Many sketches from nilecity is awsome.
Picasso's äventyr (adventures) a movie with tons of very funny pieces.
I love that clip. How he get more angry all the time and call the child stupid and talking about people coming to her home and kill her parents. I have seen it a hundred times and still I am laughing myself to tears.
English below!!
Little ”Anna” is 43 yrs old today, and her real name is Emilie Hall Gjers and works as a teacher.
-My mom was the producer for Nöjesmassakern (the TV show where this sketch was from) and I remember that Sven didn’t know his lines and I had teach him. He thought it was funny that a 6 year old had teach him, says Emilie Hall Gjers to Aftonbladet (swedish newspaper).
Hon är faktiskt 45 år idag hon är född 78 och var sex när dom spelade in detta..
How come this awesome dude only have 1320 subscribers? Keep up the good work!
I saw it when it was on TV for the first time
He was a genious and a very kind man as far as I have heard.
There was a humor group called "Helt Apropå" who did an English program called "The Prize" mocking the Nobel Prize in a very good way.
Another one of my favourites is a sketch with Robert Gustafsson and Henrik schyffert named “nazisterna” (the nazis). U can found it with eng sub too :)
I laught so hard at that 😂😂😂
Oh my god! I had a jacket just like that one with the red stripe in the background when I was a kid!
EXCELLENT SVEN!♥️♥️🙏
Love your old Norse accent (=Scottish) ❤
Oh, this sketch is so good! A classic in Sweden 😊
I’m a Swede born a year after this was made and I’ve never seen it before. For me the best years of Swedish comedy was from about 95 to 2005.
I grew up thinking this was an actual interview of a child 😂
Classic.
I love your dialekt 😍🙌
Classic 😂😂
I think you'd enjoy Robert Gustavsson, particularly when he's acting as "Farbror Barbro" in a show called Nile City. He's a radio "counselor" and a little boy calls to the station asking for advice.
Sven ❤
I love this sketch. This would never be approved in 2023. The pk mob would go crazy.
React to Swedish tv hosts eats magic cookies. It's hilarious.
Is that and Irish accent? I just love it! (I'm Swedish, so please forgive me if I'm wrong)
Thanks. I know Werner and Werner , 2 German Cooks. They make food in a diffrent way. 😊
Just a note . Sven's accent is skånska that is spoke in south of Sweden. The rrr is more if throat sound similar to French. That is a comedic nyans that Sven utelites brilliantly. I guess only funny for us Swedes. 🙂
This clip is so epic🇸🇪
It is a fantastic sketch and acting both from Sven and the girl. You must understand Swedish also to really get the feeling.
If you could find 'Sällskapsresan' or 'Yrrol' subtitled in your language I would recommend those comedian movies.
Robert gustafsson is one of the funniest comedian we have in Sweden. He has a wonderful bodylanguage. In the sketch "Johan Lindström - Ambasadören (Robert Gustafsson)" he is talking english. Superfunny!!!
Awesome😀😀😀
Brilliant 😂
Another great comedy bit, which i unfortunently dont know if there is subtitles to. Is the tv show ''Hjälp'' and those clips on TH-cam haha.
Robert Gustafsson mix - English subtitle this is a bit of longer video but it is really really really good
Legend
Wonderful! I think this plays on the fact that the swedish public media often try to be politically correct and show society from a point of view that is beneficial for the social democratic party. True or false, it is very good material for comedy.
Sällskapsresan!! Sweden in a nutshell!
”In Sweden we call it a kick” 😂
swedish comedy comes mostly from Monty phyton and england, all the legendary comedians in sweden watched Monty phyton and the likes.. thats why it is so alike
I'd recommend a series called "Percy Tårar" and a series of short films called "en liten film om" by swedish comedy group Killinggänget. Pretty much peak comedy from Sweden, in my opinion :)
Cheers :D Great reaction!
This was a part of the Eurovision 2009, it's not just a parody. Well.... it didn't compete, but it was intermission entertainment, but it was at the actual show.
And of course the humor is in the fact that a grown man get belligerent asking a little girl to want peace. The irony 😂
Sven Melander ❤
