We used to have a toad that lived outside who used to come to the front door every night to be brought inside to play and then the kids would put him back outside. He’s wintered in the house too inside a huge plant where he literally chose to live. No matter how many times they’d put him in the back yard where it was safer to live he’d be waiting at the front door for them every night for years. My daughter also has had a possum with her babies move in and other wild creatures. It’s insane the wildlife who’ve wintered and raised there children in our home and then returned to the wild.
@@goodnightmunchie ummmm I couldn’t care less. I’m not a racist asshat. Imagine the asshat who pokes sleeping bears to create drama in his own life. Let that sink in.
@Southern Pagan Princess That is sooo Flippin Awesomely cute! A friend shared this with me because I make miniature dollhouses, but I live in Idaho and I don't really have any small critters I could put in my houses. LOL BUT... What a Great idea! I'm definitely a new subscriber! 🥰
This is adorable! 🐸 I also love that she respects that he’s wild, and let’s him live his normal life outside. She also seems to respect his time, so to speak lol, meaning that she doesn’t force him to take pictures for the gram, for hours and hours…. Like SO many others do with animals. P.S. Shout out to her aunt for building that awesome dollhouse for her! I would’ve killed for one like that as a kid. 🏠👏❤️
I follow her account on instagram and I remember when she suddenly stopped posting for a while. turns out she couldn't find toby during that time lol love how she respects his space and time
I'm *so* relieved that you aren't keeping him in the house 24-7 ! That makes this so much cuter & funny. My niece does this stuff with turtles from their pond & she's in Florida too 🐢🐸 SO cute !
They can get hungry if she's keeping them away from the pond for too long, it'd be better if she had snacks for turtles with her. And that's why I thought it'd be better that the girl kept Toby as a pet (or feed him but wasn't sure if she'd want to bother) so she won't disturb his hunting but it turned out that she only has him for like 10 minutes with her for photos not hours so it's okay as it is 😅
A few years ago a toad showed up on my porch during the day. I could tell he just didn't look right, like he didn't feel well. Especially since he was out in the open on my little front porch/step during the day. So I made him a little hidey house, put down a little shallow dish for bathing, and set out some soaked freeze dried mealworms. He stayed on my porch day and night for about 3 days, soaking and eating the mealworms, then he left. I'd like to think I helped him build up his strength to get back out in the wild again.💖
It's absolutely amazing, how animals, of any species behave. 6 yrs ago I was in Puerto Rico, caring for my ailing dad. After 2 days of being there, I noticed a Coqui visiting at about 1:30 am. Sure enough, this Coqui was there, every night, at 1:30 am. My dad was quite ill, so I didn't get very much sleep. I'd be up, drinking coffee in the kitchen, for 27 days, at the same time. And as I expected, here he would come. 1:30 am, like clock work. He evidently found a plethera of spiders, behind the kitchen cabinet. One night I thought to myself, he see's me, I wonder if he will come to me. On the 8th day, he did. No bigger than a quarter, he would leep onto my hand, look at me, and made his natural sound: CO-KEE. It was, for me, such a beautiful thing. Dealing with my dying dad, not sleeping, or eating, and having this little creature coming to me, to say hello. I will never forget it.
I hope her videos bring awareness to treating every tiny animal with respect and kindness. I used to see a little toad nightly when I would walk my cat (yes, cat). There’s lots of construction in my neighborhood, and one day, I never saw him again. I pray the little guy is ok.
Are you kidding me? OMG! How adorable is that? When I was little, I brought so many creatures and wounded animals into the house. My mother's response was always, "AHHHHH!" followed by an exasperated grown. You are a kindred spirit, girl. You are an artist, a true creative person. I bet you end up designing sets for theatre or movies (animal movies). Think about it. Don't minimize your talent and impulses.
I use to work evenings in a bakery, I’d get home around 11:00 pm. One evening there was a toad in the corner of my carport. I gave him some leftovers and the next evening he was waiting for me in the same spot. Every evening I’d give him something to eat, I swear he was literally the size of baseball glove. 😊
JR what types of people food was your toad willing to eat? I never realized that they would eat people food. I know guinea pigs will eat anything that people eat because we had one that would eat scrambled eggs, and pancakes with syrup and any other table scraps we had. If we did not give her something from the table, she would stand up in her cage and shriek with loud disapproval and chatter her teeth until she got something! She was a hoot!
@@karynbanksley7110 we have 2 guinea pigs right now.. they r a trip... the one shrieks so loud when we are late getting him his daily hay, pellets or veggies.. i dont think they can eat people food like eggs or pancakes..lol.. a bit of fruit and lot of veggies.
@@robinjones1955 just to clarify, are you saying that you fed your toad fruit and veggies? Or were you referring to feeding that to your guinea pigs?
