Unfortunately, the standard of credits can not be changed . It would not be fair to the students who went through the same tragedy and studied and earned the right to graduation ceremony. Returning to school probably helped the children emotionally and mentally. The ceremony was not important to attend, lesson learned consequences to choices made .

Though they get a Special Diploma that is not the same HS Diploma. Its geared toward their special needs and dont have same requirements. These include honors diplomas or diplomas of high distinction, certificates of completion or attendance, certificates of achievement, Individualized Education Program (IEP) diplomas or special education diplomas, and occupational diplomas. Though many do the same Requirements that able body student, they would get same HS Diploma
I could see if a majority of the students were not able to finish their requirements but if only a handful didn’t that tells you that they all had the opportunity to get their requirements done and some just didn’t take it seriously. No exceptions should be made just because they failed to meet the requirements that 200+ other students met that also experienced the same hardships. Stop teaching the next generation that’s it’s ok to fail because you’ll just be given an exception. Gotta start teaching them to work for what they want and if not there are consequences.
