I love that you're consistently adding slightly more decoration to the screen. Can't wait till we get to episode 25 and you can't make out any of the logo
In the intro you guys were curious about if there is an engineer title dedicated to making a product easier to use. That does exist, and they are called ergonomics engineers. (also related are integration engineers)
I think the labour issue with regards to Generative thieving tools is the more perennially relevant aspect of it, and I always think about Ludites, which people use as an insult against criticism of generative thievery, but ludites really had the right idea, that the issue with automation is that capital ends up owning the tools and so the benefits of automation are absorbed exclusively by those owners, and the workers are displaced. On top of that, the development of the tools requires the expertise of the workers, which is doubly true now that they directly trained these tools on work by artists. So I guess a timeless angle for a followup to this would be "the workers must own the means of production"?
I think to be fair, the LLM Vtuber (Neuro-sama I assume?) is clearly like this one dev's pet project and not like some corporate thing and is like, a toy thing that's probably not harming anyone, yet, afaik.
I don't think the interpolation video is as big of a problem as you think it is. I get why you think it approaches the thing from a bad perspective, only partially mentioning other sides of the problem apart from the looks, but the video still arrives at right conclusions! Even if it doesn't fully represent your point of view now it's still awesome in all kinds of ways + no one could see the fucked up future we live in. These podcasts are genuinely so fucking cool, it's unbelievably fun to listen to your dumb shit
@mikkelens it was truly tragic. Biden was such a nice person (as long as we don't think about the midle eastern children but who has ever gave a fuck about them) but then his announcements about not liking ice cream... I cried hours after hearing about it
I know you said you didn't care about "keeping to a 2D style", Noodle, but I was wondering if you've looked any into blender's horribly named grease pencil tool. From what I've played with it, you kinda bridge the gap between 2D animation and 3D. Between some shaderwork for your models and the grease for details, you can add back the quirkiness of traditional animation while still taking advantage of the automation of keyframing models. From experience I know that 3D alone can sometimes feel limiting in some motions, so I feel that giving a pass-over with grease for some follow through or secondary actions adds a lot
man I love this podcast it's just a pain to look for 90% of the time so I have to take a trip through the Noodle youtube channel to uncover it like a hidden item.
"An engineer that makes a product usable" you're looking for an industrial designer or a ux designer. engineers usually are on the more mathematical and production side of things.
The people going "only humans can make Art!" are going to lose their fucking minds when they find out that a lot of furry artists are therian and therefore by definition not human
Love hearing you two chat about all these topics! Question: would you rather people listen to this podcast on TH-cam or one of the other podcast platforms? want to make sure I'm supporting you in the best way I can
at the start was he tryna describe convenience engineer? like their only job is to look at the end project n go "hm cool but this kinda sucks to use" then makes it more user friendly
will noodle make a follow up video to his interpolation one??? I think that will be better than deleting the old one (specially cause you can't delete a video with a comment from Sir and Lord of All of Whats Known to Humanity, James Baxter, saying "oh yeah I agree with you")
Hearing Noodle say “Welcome to the podcast” and then not being followed by a sound clip of canned audience applause feels so strange.
Ah a fellow PST listener good taste
"theres no word id use to describe the triple A games industry more than 'agile'"
Lmao thats a fucking good one

I hear there's a button with a long word that starts with an S that can alleviate that!

this is honestly incredible. and gay. but mostly incredible
what they don't tell you is that there is a little button in the corner of the screen that lets you stop the video
thanks for posting this on me and my wifes 5th anniversary :3

Ai is very cool but we are using it irresponsibly and I don’t think we’re ready for it
I love the one fourth of the one hour episode where video guy and videogame guy talk about hiring children and sex offenders
