Please for the love of god make Sex FM a reality. I will seriously modify my 2003 chevy van's radio to only play Sex FM using mobile internet and make people in my vehicle go crazy. They reach for the dial, but every station is Sex FM. Please.

I've been helping run a radio station for 13 years now,
There's a whole system for when a DJ starts streaming to cut the current song, a playlist system for for playing in the morning, afternoon and night to go with the vibe of the time of day, as well as different playlists for every day.
At one point we had one day where 32 DJ's would get on to go back to back for 2 days straight followed by an album liveplay / release.
Much like with Noodle is saying, there was just so much talent and music that people where creating that we wanted to put somewhere.
we kinda just never stopped running it although streaming on demand is the norm now.
And the funny part in this is that this is for a My little pony radio station.
If you want a tip, The price for DJing licensed music is much more affordable then playing a song unedited via a playlist.

I'd strongly recommend checking out Vargskelethor Joel's album "Sex In Minecraft.." It's just 30 minutes of him screaming "I'm having sex in Minecraft" to various midis. Absolutely PERFECT for a project like this.

Can’t wait to be in a life or death scenario outrunning the zone with Carefree blasting on the radio. Genuinely, can’t wait. Haven’t played Pacific Drive in a while due to other things coming out, but I’ll for sure pick it back up when Sex FM comes out. I’d totally be down to beta test, any excuse to play more Pacific Drive is a welcome one.

also surprised to not see any twitter or bluesky promo for it, but i was happy to see the release of a new episode! i think its the fact that i have no idea when these episodes will drop that adds to the joy of seeing one in my feed.
I'm pretty sure in previous podcast episodes (or if this is me mixing up something else i heard else where) but the conversation of being oversaturated with content to choose from in this day and age (and hence the "benefit" of what only having access to cable and radio stations was like) actually makes the idea of people creating radios that fit specific niches to audiences online extremely compelling.
it gives those nicher audiences a comfort destination for when you don't want to think about what to put on, its the same feeling as putting on a podcast when playing a game (just as i was doing with this podcast while playing webfishing, which the game is great for) just something you like to have in the background paired with something else.
i trust the people behind the project and their appreciation/satire of early 2000 radio stations, and i would love to commit to the bit of gaslighting other people into thinking this is an actual radio station and not some internet project 😭
it would just be really cool also to see what could be down with the concept of a radio station if the people behind it had full control and flexibility over it, redefine the medium of the radio, regardless if its used for silly bits meant to gaslight unsuspecting listeners LOL
podcast is epic btw! ive been also checking out your features on PST (both of them) and ive gotten to appreciate all of the hosts on both shows so far :) it really has been a great way for me to hear people talk passionately about the creation and discourse of media, from a creative/artistic/developer standpoint and a consumer one as well. genuinely super informative, especially as someone who always has been hesitant to pursue game dev, especially with me just struggling to handle the responabilites in my life already. the inspiration to do cool shit as an independent is fueled by content like this, so thank you!
i bought I am your beast and that game really is fucking peak. wow. like i know its been hyped on the podcasts but the points made about the "style and substance" of it as well as it being a perfect speedrun game are honestly really true. its really cool to learn and hear about projects i wouldn't have know about if it weren't for these podcasts, so thank you.

Fucking hell. I learned that Noodle makes a radio station SPECIFICALLY for Pacific Drive from a fucking Reddit post, and I've never been so hyped about it since games launch. Building a backend for an internet radio station was _literally_ my bachelor's thesis. Please, I beg of you, when/if station will run out - share the bumpers, so I could build my own gremlin radio box. Heck, I might even make some kind of one-click docker thingamabob so that anyone could make a station of their own.

As a side note, there is an album (Songs for the Deaf) from Queens of the Stone Age with a similar framework of using radio bumpers to separate tracks. If it isn’t already, it might be good for inspiration!

unsure. You'll need to look into what supports the m3u/m3u8 filetype. VLC mediaplayer works if all else fails

Sex FM saved my life, I was about to backflip into traffic when I heard Sex FM, I enjoyed the music so hard I fell off anyways the bridge anyways into the windshield of an ambulance. So it worked out.
I was involved with radio at my university. I even have a useless degree involving radio production. I need to be a part of this, even just as a beta tester.

Side note, i dont know if the service you're using supports this, but it would absolutely be technically feasible to have the stream be different for different users, since the server has to send it to each client individually. Like imagine you have an automated voice read out the listeners ip address or something, or play something super loud and annoying but only for one or two people. There's potential.
