- In this one Noodle and Sam dig into Dreams (like the PS4). Noodle praises the virtues of janky art. Sam damages property.

Every time Sam tells stories I can only imagine him with sunglasses and a beard no matter if the story takes place in high school, or Pre-K.
I’m not even twenty minutes in but YOU GUYS. As an artist, your discussion of the learning process of how a person figures out what they want to create is EVERYTHING. I freaking love this podcast
Man I hate how most of the press when Dreams came out was mostly just "wow look at these shitty meme games lol", I feel like it way undercut what it could do and gave the impression to the public that its the only thing it was good for.
I love Dreams. My wife bought me the move controlelrs and it's still my favourite creation software.
Also, I learned about basic sound with Dreams, just because the interface was so clear and inviting.
Hey, I'm exactly the type of person you guys described about getting into Dreams at the beginning. I never would have gotten into making games without it, and now I've been working solo on a game for 2 years in Godot. Thanks for bringing back a lot of those memories
There is a world where "The TH-cam of Games" exists, and I can only hope I live long enough for Sam to make it this one
What. The. Hell. I discovered (and binged) this entire podcast today. This does not help my main character syndrome.
Wdym
When I was a kid, I was on this game called BlocksWorld. It sounds like a minecraft clone, but It was more closer to a mobile version of Dreams. It taught me the barebones of how to code. There I was exposed to all of these amazing creators who made like transformers, games, full on narrative universes, and it was truly amazing. I met some of my first online friends there, and I absolutely miss that kind of community. I got to experiment with my own ideas and make things that now I never even consider, wish I could go back to the app, but it was removed from the app stores in 2020 :(.
IT HAS A KICKSTARTER TO REVIVE IT
Can’t believe Julian got Ratatouille’d by Dream on the PS4
It's sad that nobody remembers that xbox had a game like Dreams called Project Spark.
It was so cool to have a game that's essetially a game engine done in a way that it's easy to use and play community games.
The interesting thing is that it also came to PC.
What saddens me the most is that it had a really short lifespan compared to Dreams, and with the servers down, you can't download games.
But I'm glad that Dreams exists, so that type of game lives on
Reminds me of the game “Rec Room”, its whole model is basically that, the players making the experiences
But I think the thing that made it as like… over saturated with just spam content is the fact that the algorithm that chooses what games get put on the front page overlooks those smaller more impressive passion projects folks have made, so you have to do a lot of digging or know someone who has worked on such a thing
I love community based games, but it’s difficult to see when the company pivots away from that to focus more on commercial success at the expense of the community
I still like making things in dreams. Its still such a great collection of tools. If only it wasn't treated like the Vita or the PSTV by Sony. Their developers handed them DIAMONDS and they didnt know what to do with them.
Well said
I saw dreams on the ps store the other day and considered it for a few seconds... I might have to get it now. not even really to explore a past of creation (that's not really for me, especially after how difficult it was to peruse game maker garage), but to try and create my own random bs (and also of course to explore a past of creation).
I love this podcast I hope it lasts forever and I'm not joking
NO DONT TALK ABOUT DREAMS PS4 I will fucking cry
I can tell you how MM convinced Sony to make dreams the main office was still in Japan w/ Shuhei Yoshida at the head and someone who understood the value of games made by a smaller team who are passionate what they create
I can't wait for the Noodle Gaslight Software Game made by Sam
Now I'm gonna have to sit and wonder if I saw any of Noodle's old flipnote uploads
noodle calling his elves video old when i've been watching this dude since that same fucking video made me grow old internally
My dreams experience was playing my first or so games and starting to cry because I knew way ahead Sony will do the usual Sony thing and not make it their Roblox BECAUSE THEY ARE A SPECIAL FLAVOUR OF THEIR OWN STUPID. Like Sony won’t ruin a game by simply displeasing their core audience. They just let things rot and sometimes shot down the people who will try to revive things s
ONE OF MY FAVORITE ELECTRONIC ALBUMS WAS MADE IN DREAMS, "RO - VIRTUAL WORLD MANIAC" ITS A BANGER GIVE IT A LISTEN NOWWWWW!!!!!!
It's bit silly, but for me Galactic Adventures addon for Spore was my first game making toolkit. Options were really limited, but at the same time I saw so many clever workarounds and genuinely amazing stories. It sounds similar to what you're describing
Cluster truck level editor is underrated
literally the only podcast i listen to
Waow
(Based based based based based based based based based based based based based based based based based based based based based)
yeah Dreams was amazing and left a huge gap. Me and my team at our research group are trying to build a UGC VR game maker inspired by Dreams, but open source and on PC
Has anyone made Big Buck Bunny in Dreams?
Love the podcast!
I'm saying he was part of the flipnote community explains why we have the same funny bone
I know the intro/outro jingle is made with beepbox and that just made me die laughing to myself in the middle of work, fuck you guys I love you
media molecule are one of the best video games studios. there isnt a fucking doubt in my mind
From dreams to fortnitemare- ugh. What a gut punch. Hahahah!
please consider making a video about Dreams
Sony said no to the PC Build.
I feel like, Sony is responsible for the death of Dreams.
I love Dreams. Theres no other tools out there that can replicate the idea of Dreams.
Dreams is rad and i should spend time with it.
The fact that u can use any music is pretty based. copyrignt die lol
it is not limited to platformers (i know lb2 removed that limitation), i wouldnve been over this.
David lynch would have fucking loved dreams. I hope he got to play it a little
big buck bunny
Hey I doubt you will see this comment but I just wanted to let you know many people from the dreams community is still actively making stuff but on a different game now called "rec room" which is a game making social platform
damn i wanna here the flipnote stories
picked a dsi over a 3ds because of it... wish i got to see its end but got grounded that week
At least it was just water and not soda or milk or something.
7:15 minecraft marketplace exists on pocket edtion
I think the developers of little big planet best game is Taraway It’s so good it’s so underrated you got to play it in dreams is in Astro bot
YEAHH
i like this
can you guys talk about little big planet now
Imo the biggest failure of psvr2 (and there are many) is that Sony did not support the port or development of the Dream platform for that headset.
It is insane to me that Final_V3 has a "enhanced bitrate" option for 1080p and yet the Noodle channel doesn't have that, Noodle is it because you export your videos in 1440p?
hey im podcasting ova here!!!!
Like and subscribe for more funny comments!
is that fucking Isle of the Dead sound font at the end
You got to get a little big planet 3 on digital because Sony is deleted off the PlayStation some point in October and the DLC will be lost. Got to tell people about this before it’s too late
You should try the latest P.T. remake which have gotten great reviews in the press, it's the full game with all the features and content plus more. It looks very close to the original. It was made by 3 people in 7 months.
Heres hoping for a PS4 emulation. Sony would rather kill Dreams than export it.
👁️👄👁️
If you like sonic even a little bit just try the sonic fan games they are better than what sonic team could imagine before Frontiers
Ok you've convinced me to buy Dreams for 15$, but it costs waaay more than that?
I have NOT heard of Dreams since like 3 months from when it released
No views, fell off, ratio'd.
I am extremely pissed at the fact that the Geometry Dash editor was not mentioned in the 10 minutes of podcast I've listened so far.
Edit: I finished the podcast and Geometry Dash was NOT mentioned. This is truly dissappointing.
Seriously now, I think the GD editor, as well as the community in general, is worth mentioning mainly because of its inmense potential. With the latest update people have been building games like crazy and pushing the limits of the game to a point that was unimaginable on an older version of the game. One player even made a fully functioning 3D engine in a level you can try out right now (3Depth by Nemo2510). Just to remind you, this is a silly little platformer about a cube that jumps over spikes with a community so strong and creative that it survived 7 years without any changes to the actual game. The amount of freedom this small editor gives is incredible, not only because of the ability to have fun creating "bad" levels inspired by whatever you played before, wether that would be the main levels or community made ones, but also that if you have enough dedication and passion for it you can create something so wonderful that millions of players could see it.
Yeah and now we got a whole ass Jump and Run Engine you can just start building on top off. Mental.
