There are many excellent tyres available for sure. Even 1-2 previous generation tyres are still excellent if you're price conscious (e.g. Angel GT instead of the 2, PR4 instead of PR5, Metzeler Z8 instead Roaadtec) I try to ride smooth and I think that helps with the longevity

Hi Martin, thanks for watching and for the nice feedback, it's really appreciated. I do ride all year round, though I don't remember riding in 5C on these particular tyres, maybe 7C? That was January/February 2023. They felt the same in that weather, always fairly supple and quickly up to operating temperature, very good for road riding. I never felt I needed to ease off. I did ride in about 4C on my previous set of tyres, Metzeler Z8s, and even had a little slip on ice (recovered, I stayed upright!) that felt like a very big slip! Perhaps I should have eased off for ice 😬😆

I'm always interested in real world reviews. I have just fitted my second set of Avon Spirit ST's to the VStrom, the previous pair lasted over 12,000 miles, but realistically I pushed them a little beyond the point at which they should have been changed. Next change won't be for a while, but as Avon are closing their UK manufacturing plant in December, next time it will be a choice of what works rather than supporting a 'local' company (Melksham is not that far from me). I'll be interested to hear if your 10,000 mile estimate is right.
Oh, I didn't know Avon were closing their UK factory. Where are they moving it to? The Pirelli and Metzeler tyres have split manufacturing, fronts in China, rears in Germany (or vice very, I can't remember)
Hi, thanks for the question! The tyres have a nice round profile, very similar to my previous Bridgestone and Metzeler tyres, which have always been "Sport Touring" tyres. They are (for my style of mixed road riding) a good compromise between stability and cornering ability. They're great for my Kawasaki Z1000SX sport touring bike. I wouldn't say they are for track riding or hyper sporty riding, though. More suited to smooth inputs, acceleration, cornering and braking.
He noob Ive got the same bike as you and just curious how much the 15,000 mile service cost? As whether it was kawaski or independent. As im due the 15k soon as been quoted £780 of my local kawaski Cheers
First of all, thanks for checking out the channel. Great choice of bike, in my humble opinion 😉 I did a video with my review after 15,000 miles. Second: Ouch! Did they make you put your arms up for the robbery? I paid £210 (incl. VAT) for East London Kawasaki / Bacon's Motorcycles, a Kawasaki main dealer very close to me. Mind you, I did the oil and oil filter, plus brake fluid change myself, and took it to them with all the fairings off. They charged me two hours labour at £60 per hour (it's gone up since then, thanks to this shower of a government and inflation / cost of living etc) for air filter, spark plugs and all the checks. Is your bike still under warranty? If not, it may not be worth paying the full whack for the franchise stealership labour charges, if you can find a good reliable mechanic to do the work for you. I'm very lucky in that not only is my local Kwak dealer very honest, but I also have a choice of two other mechanics I can use. I showcased one of them, DSW Servicing, who did my fork oil change, in a recent video also.
