Im on day three of RRE and i'm in shock.. This sim is a sim lol the FFB is just amazing and i love the settings to it. The graphics are pretty good for what it is and i love how the animation gives me the sense of speed or how hard im braking from the body of the car moving.
I have it loaded up with all the other biggies. I like it. Always have. Talk about having a kingdom of riches. So many beautiful racing sims out there. Incredible.
YES!!!!! to everything you've said!! I absolutely love raceroom because of it's emersion and realism, for a budget sim racer as myself on fairly basic kit. This game absolutely has me surprised everytime I log in and race, however finding a solid number of raceroom enthusiasts in the Uk is hit and miss. The game is consistant and every experience is different. I may not be the fastest or the mosted skilled of sim racers, but like an introvert at a convention I'm just happy to be a part of an exciting and enthusiastic community. Keep up the excellent work, I'm loving your content.
I have to say Raceroom is amazing. I play with an XBOX One controller and it is the smoothest, most neutral controller experience, even better than GT7 or Forza and that says a lot (enabling Steam input helped massively, at first the controller controls were average at best). I can only imagine the awesomeness of it playing with a proper wheel and rig setup but I am already blown away by the game as it is. It feels like a real sim without being so restrictive on us casual gamers as iRacing or ACC would be. And yes, the AI is really weirdly fast on adaptive setting, I already did a few races and can see small improvements race by race, hopefully I can challenge for the top 5 places soon. But the immersion and the whole feel of the driving is second to none.Thank you for the video!
Finally someone that gives RR the love that it deserves. I have AMS2 and ACC but RR has a special place in my heart! The only issue i have is the low FPS i get, hardly goes more then 70 for some reason while all other titles are close to 100-110.
Bit late but, unless you have a ancient GPU then your probably CPU limited as RR uses pretty much only 1 thread. Run task manager and alt tab out to it after a while on track and check you CPU & GPU usage, that should tell you right there where you problem is. I'm running an old 1080ti and I still limit the frames to 120fps and it runs like butter on a hot road.
First time watching a video of yours. I mainly race iRacing and AMS2 these days but RaceRoom will always have a place in my heart. I enjoy randomly firing it up to play some random content that you cannot get in other sim titles. It definitely needs some updates but still does some things very well.
Thanks for watching. I agree that it definitely has some qualities that are missing in others. Since you play the sim I have a question. Is it just me or does the car slow down too quickly when releasing the accelerator?
@@TheGreyBeardGamer It's been a couple months since I've ran it so I'd have to try it as I don't recall off the top of my head. Are you thinking a specific car/class or just a feeling you get from any car? I do remember that for me it was hard to lock up tires, you could just smash the brakes and the car would stop.
@@TheGreyBeardGamer So I fired up RaceRoom last night and noticed as far as braking you can still stand on the pedal and the car will slow down quickly. I didn't notice too much of the immediate reduction of speed just by letting off the throttle. I do need to adjust my wheel rotation as for some reason now with my Moza (previous Fanatec) I had to turn the wheel way too much. It was nice to pound around a bit and bring back some good RaceRoom memories.
@@TheGreyBeardGamer Maybe you should look at engine settings? Raceroom has a set up for engine break. So you could set it while setting all parameters of your car in garage.
(if you dont already have it) and if you enjoy the feed back of engine rumble /gear changes you need to get a buttkicker OR a Nobsound amplifier and daytonaudio pucks(2-4) all hooks up through sim hub and it will add another level of detail/ imersion!
Raceeoom is still my go to sim had it since the day one beta dropped...ive tried many other sims - but they just end up gathering um...online virtual dust 😂 Its my understanding that the adaptive AI is built up over a number of races, it kind of builds a database of "your" ability and dials back to a comparable level....the more races you do the more refined the AI will become.....its a frustrating process, but once dialed in you will be up for some awesome battles.... Realisticly it doesnt bother me too much as i mostly race with my Australian/New Zealand based community....
great video, I love the feel of Raceroom but always had the issue where they are super slow around some corners and like in the video have way more grip and traction in others
i think is the most fun game and most realistic i can remember.hearing all the noises inside the car is unique, only found here.you are slow on the curves, you can do them faster
Its amazing and its free and its pay per car also which is awesome because now you dont have to buy all the fluff in a dlc pack you can just get the car you want because i run the mercedes in iracing, assetto and raceroom.
I’ve done this race a few times to see what happens. When I take the outside they zoom past on the inside too. Gonna keep playing a few more races if it’s the same I’ll just gong a difficulty setting
@@TheGreyBeardGamer The AI has always been a bit inconsistent in Raceroom, and now it's accentuated by the fact they are still getting tweaked to adapt for the tyre rework released in December. Ranked multiplayer is a bit better than AI racing imho, even if you tweak the AI setting to fit your pace over a lap, they will still be too quick or too slow in unexpected places.
I had the same problem with the Adaptive Ai in a recent offline championship, they were either way too fast or way too slow. The more data you give the Ai the closer to your pace it will be, but if you switch to a track that you aren't as good on the Ai will be off pace again. (the very first race with adaptive ai will be the same as the lowest difficulty setting)
You definately don't suck. That one pass by the AI you looked back at, at about the point he had the sudden burst of speed, you lost a little speed and you were off the throttle a couple of times. First when you said he was going to pass you again, you dropped from 108 to 104, then again from 105 to 102 as he passed. I'm sure the throttle play was to avoid a collision, but that likely was the cause of his sudden burst of speed. Still, way better sim driver that I am, excellent and fun video, just had to throw in my 2 cents. BTW, I hate those "Cut Track" penalties, especially when you go wide and actually lose speed.
I started with this game 7 yrs ago and it’s still the favorite go to sim but I think you will probably end up finding a AI level that’s comfortable because that adaptive AI I kept beating
Just a heads up. The real drivers are pulling 2:02s around this track so part of what’s happening here is room for improvement. The corner you’re struggling on is a late apex. You’re turning into it too early and sacrificing your momentum for the exit. It looks like a burst of speed but really it’s a problem with the line you’re taking making you slower. Take a look at where the rumble strips are in the corner and see how much earlier you’re turning in before them. The AMG is also a rocket in a straight line/acceleration zone. So that plays a part too.
Thanks for showing us RaceRoom. Seems like there is more attention to the newer racing games right now. I have RaceRoom installed and did online league racing maybe 5-6 years ago. I need to look at this game again and see what newer content it has. I bought all tracks and cars many years ago, but I know there is more available now. I did not know this game has adaptive AI racing. I will also have to give it a try. That said, seems you were racing the best you could and I agree the AI at times does unrealistic speeds and no way you could keep up with them. Seems you were battling one or two race cars for the entire race. You could not come close to catching the rest of the pack. I would be interested if the adaptive mode does any better realistic speeds with more races or is that the best that mode can do. I will subscribe and see if you do more racing with RaceRoom and you get better adaptive races with the AI cars. Thanks for the video and take care.
Thanks for the sub!!! And will definitely do more RR in the near future. As far as the adaptive AI, I love how it’s difficult to catch the front of the pack so that it presents a challenge. Once you turn on this setting you will destroy the competition then the next race they will destroy you. You need to keep racing for a while. It will match your style of racing eventually
So it adjusts and keeps you in the position you qualified in ? I didn’t understand it so I just put the AI on about 93 and it’s a good race and competitive
No they AI is broken it’s not the turn, forth gear, it can be any track or turn. After reading into it the adaptive ai is broken. Even the comment above yours says he had it for 7 years and the same
Good race! But you had half a tank of fuel left at the end of the race so maybe too much weight? Also you setup could be at a disadvantage downforce wise through the high speed corners?
Race room, is amazing they just need larger online community. The solo experience is pretty daym amazing.
Raceroom is definitely underrated. I love the way that you cab feel the suspension in the wheel. Ver visceral. 😊

What I don't like is when I'm in a community race and I get hit from behind or from the sides I'm the one that gets disqualified.
