I am afraid the freesync will not work great and show ghosting. How effective is VRR? Does it perform well in all games or depends on the game as well?
My friend, there's absolutely no ghosting in IPS monitors, VA panels have the usual black smearing at low HZ, but you don't have to worry with that on this one, like the 1440P 165Hz one
Sadly don't have those monitors. Although "5K" doesn't exist. I woupd simply go to the lg one usually. Also 27" for that resolution? Just go 32" or ultrawide 34"
Thanks for reviewing this. I think you basically reviewed the cooler master monitor too. I think the difference was the base and the monitor turn on logo. I bought mine and had flickering problems had to update the firmware, buy a different cable and new gpu. (My old 1070 wasn't doing great for 4k and didn't have DSC for 160hz.)

Been debating going for a 4k 144 hz.. currently have a 2k 240 paired with a 7900xt. Have been playing single player games but play eSports fps games often
I'm running that with the Odyssey G7 but not for the 240hz but due it being one of the fastest LCD panels in terms of response times and the 600 nit max brightness with HDR is also pretty nice when it's sunny outside.
I've just been given a Samsung G32a 27" 1080p 165hz va monitor because my cousin just upgraded. Any advice on how to adjust setting to help the ghosting black smear? Any guides for this panel anywhere? I can't complain as it's free so want to try and make the most out of it and will probably upgrade at black Friday deals.
Great review. I have a question about the H27T22. How does it do in response time and overshoot when playing around 60hz, let's say 45-80hz vrr range? With my current PC many AAA games are in that range. Should I still use overdrive low or should I set it to off? Or is the monitor bad for that scenario?
Not really, that's a TN panel. Sincerely, you're MUCH better with a "lower" refresh rate like 165Hz while getting 1440P res, a bigger monitor, better colors and viewing angles like you have here with the KTC H27T22
Using M27P20 since half a year or so and can recommend. It looks a bit simplistic and mid quality, material-wise, but it's sturdy and solid and moving it around feels good. Switching LD on / off, or between HDR, SDR, etc... can be a bit quirky or bothersome, but it's not the monitors fault. I mostly use it in SDR with LD and just ignore the white blurs here and there. For work I turn off LD. It always feels sad, as images def. look more bland and reflections (or "shiny-ness") on dark bg become much more visible (still great and better than most displays without LD though).
@@philipbrand4759 sold if after using it for half a year, because dough 4k glossy arrived. But honestly i liked the panel of KTC better. It was much more powerful and HDR videos were really stunning to watch. On the other hand it was almost too powerful for me (in regards to nits... in HDR you sometimes really have to squint you're eyes, if a scene chances from dark to bright). Also turning LD off and on several times per day was a bit annoying. Everything worked fine after 6 months use every day and i sold it for 60% of original value.

Because the QHD has less to review as it has less features and doesn't have local dimming. As for the brightness and so on, I did say that I don't have the needed hardware/software to deep dive into things as this is my first monitor review. Thanks for the tips though! Cheers

@@goblin4562 the "tracking" means nothing... I mean, they're pushing 800fps on a 360Hz monitor so they're only seeing 360FPS, with the only difference being lower frametimes, and that's it. higher resolution/higher pixel density is ALWAYS better to distinguish objects being them still or in movement, so as long as you have a GPU/CPU powerful enough to push those same frames at 1440P, the higher resolution is always better, as long as the panel as monitor inner latencies are the same

Also 27" for that resolution? Just go 32" or ultrawide 34"
So what your saying is, I need to upgrade my CRT monitor to one of these? Okay. Getting one next week. Thank you.
Thank YOU for watching 💪💪
Thanks for reviewing this. I think you basically reviewed the cooler master monitor too. I think the difference was the base and the monitor turn on logo. I bought mine and had flickering problems had to update the firmware, buy a different cable and new gpu. (My old 1070 wasn't doing great for 4k and didn't have DSC for 160hz.)
Damn, that's a bummer, even my old 570 was fine, just old go to 4k 160hz
Thank You!
bro. just realised you are well above 100k subs. i remember subbing to you when you were a relatively small content creator. belated congratulations.
Edit : Sadly KTC is not available in my area in Asia. sadge.
Thank you for watching. And yeah, KTC is still expanding
Been debating going for a 4k 144 hz.. currently have a 2k 240 paired with a 7900xt. Have been playing single player games but play eSports fps games often
Yeah, you're not alone, some people feel the same
wait for OLED.
Thanks for the video
Thank you as well
Feels like 1440P 240 FPS is the sweet spot !
I still prefer resolution over Hz, but pixel density is still one of the most important things to me
I'm running that with the Odyssey G7 but not for the 240hz but due it being one of the fastest LCD panels in terms of response times and the 600 nit max brightness with HDR is also pretty nice when it's sunny outside.
@@AncientGameplays i got a philips 4k@60 with my 6700 xt and love it as i stream more than i play games.
Hey, I do have some videos I did before
Great review. I have a question about the H27T22. How does it do in response time and overshoot when playing around 60hz, let's say 45-80hz vrr range? With my current PC many AAA games are in that range.
Should I still use overdrive low or should I set it to off?
Or is the monitor bad for that scenario?
Overdrive will be fine even at lower when using high settings I believe. You can always test it as well
BenQ zowie zl 2540k is good?
Not really, that's a TN panel. Sincerely, you're MUCH better with a "lower" refresh rate like 165Hz while getting 1440P res, a bigger monitor, better colors and viewing angles like you have here with the KTC H27T22
M27p20 With gtx 1050 or gtx 970 it is not set to 160 hz but only 95 hz. How come?
You need display port, and some older cards won't support the full 4k at 160Hz
I'm pretty much set on my monitors
Got an ASUS adaptive sync one with the highest possible refresh rate you can get for AMD via 280 htz
That's nice! QHD or 1080P?
Using M27P20 since half a year or so and can recommend. It looks a bit simplistic and mid quality, material-wise, but it's sturdy and solid and moving it around feels good. Switching LD on / off, or between HDR, SDR, etc... can be a bit quirky or bothersome, but it's not the monitors fault. I mostly use it in SDR with LD and just ignore the white blurs here and there. For work I turn off LD. It always feels sad, as images def. look more bland and reflections (or "shiny-ness") on dark bg become much more visible (still great and better than most displays without LD though).
Yeah, ld ans hdr still need work, let alone ld and sdr
how is it holding up after a year of use?
@@philipbrand4759 sold if after using it for half a year, because dough 4k glossy arrived. But honestly i liked the panel of KTC better. It was much more powerful and HDR videos were really stunning to watch. On the other hand it was almost too powerful for me (in regards to nits... in HDR you sometimes really have to squint you're eyes, if a scene chances from dark to bright). Also turning LD off and on several times per day was a bit annoying. Everything worked fine after 6 months use every day and i sold it for 60% of original value.
Does localdimming work with VRR and HDR enabled?
Vrr is always enabled yes. And it ONLY works correctly with HDR as explained. It turns itself on only when HDR is enabled as well
@@AncientGameplays Thanks. Now if ktc gives you the 1440p VA miniled monitor to review, would be perfect :)
KTC H27T22 good for 245?
Not a bad deal IMO
I have a Dell 32" curved 1440p 165 hz monitor. It has been decent for the on sale price I got it for. But after looking at other Monitors on display at my local Best Buy, I realized it is lacking.
Yeah, monitors are always a thing you need to see in person (IMO) or get info from some really reliable source with "good eyes" haha
BTW What is your opinion about curved monitors, Fabio?
My main monitor is curved, only slightly and I actually like it
Is it true that you lose detail on a 4k 27” monitor? I hear a lot of people say that 32” is the smallest 4k size you should get
People are dumb lol. You get more detail since the pixel density is higher
@@AncientGameplays haha thanks man! Love your reviews
that m27pro costs 1400 on amazon in canada 😢loll, i got my 48" LG UG for 1399 on amazon, extremely happy with it but scared of burn-in. Mini-LED is a great option due to no worries on burn-in forsure.
They look cool, can't go back to IPS/Mini-LED after experiencing an ultrawide OLED though...
OLED is the best as said in the video haha
cant wait for Micro LED. that's true endgame. screen quality of OLED but durability of IPS@@AncientGameplays
@@SweatyFeetGirl gotta lay an eye on that
yea, Micro led is basically like oled, but instead of being organic, each pixel is a seperate LED. but its VERY expensive to manufacture as one might imagine. a 4k display wouldneed 8.3 million LEDs... @@AncientGameplays
How 'bout Samsung LS32BG750NUXEN?
That's a VA panel with 4K 165Hz, the only difference is the size, but VA is considerably worse IMO. The HDR is better than this one as it is also MINI-LED, but at the same time it is much more expensive
I'm looking into 1440p monitros with 100 or more Hz for up to 300€ and i was looking about this KTC monitors, to bad that it's avaiable on Amazon and what is this Euro store, i never heard it of before, beacuse i only buy from online stores that have pay whend they deliver personaly with cash or paysafe and amazon don't offer none of this.
I understand, but AMAZON is perfectly safe to pay with card. Also, Banggood is a well known store, they deliver in Europe without any fees
nice , but you don't analize QHD monitor as much as the other , if you have intentions to review more monitors you should review the brightness and contrast ratio if you can
Because the QHD has less to review as it has less features and doesn't have local dimming. As for the brightness and so on, I did say that I don't have the needed hardware/software to deep dive into things as this is my first monitor review. Thanks for the tips though! Cheers
@@AncientGameplays ok, did you test HDR? Because I saw a few monitor that doesn't have certification and they give good result

@@AncientGameplaysI think the 32" just released. Will you review it??
they were sold as Spectre brand?
Its the opposite, spectre most likely sold their panels. They've been making panels for others brands for over 20 years
Yes this is what I meant. I was guessing a brand that they did this with.
Yes indeed, and there are way more brands featuring their panels@@quintrapnell3605
Personally 32" is the minimum screen size if I'm buying a premium monitor
Can i ask, why do you think the price of these monitores is so low? How can they get such good quality for such a low price, there has to be some drawback ,no? Bom video!
They can do it because they're the manufacturers, while most brand need to get their panels and then do the rest of the monitor
In case you didn't know, MSI monitors and some other brands are made by ktc, lol.
Ive been planning on buying the xl2546k, but it is a bit on the expensive side😅
Yes, but...why? 1080P TN in this day and age when you have GOOD IPS panels at QHD 240Hz?
@@AncientGameplays best performance, best backlight strobing, more fps cuz of the smaller panel size and most pro players are using 1080p so that they can track better or see more of what is going on but i am open to disscusions on if 1440p is better than 1080p for pure gaming. Also from what ive been seeing on the internet most people recommend the xl2546k.
@@goblin4562 the "tracking" means nothing... I mean, they're pushing 800fps on a 360Hz monitor so they're only seeing 360FPS, with the only difference being lower frametimes, and that's it.
higher resolution/higher pixel density is ALWAYS better to distinguish objects being them still or in movement, so as long as you have a GPU/CPU powerful enough to push those same frames at 1440P, the higher resolution is always better, as long as the panel as monitor inner latencies are the same
@@AncientGameplays never thought of if that way, ty for ur input.
I did find a 19" 60 Hz IPS 1280 x 1024 monitor, I am super happy, it looks good and with the 4070 I have FPS high in all games on Ultra
And when the game doesn't support it and I have to play 16:9, I bought a Full HD 15.6" IPS monitor, I can put on 720P and it's still sharp
I tried so many monitors and none made me happy like the old 5:3 monitor I grew up when there were still CRT monitors and now the 16:9 ones, somehow it doesn't fascinate me

No, they don't. Firstly that MSI is mostly likely VA, not IPS, also, that monitor most definitely doesn't supporting MINI LED technology. What I meant is that with these features, you won't find anything cheaper, at least I didn't.

My philosophy will continue betting on 1080p at 60Hz, 4K or 2K in 27" seems to me a joke and using 160Hz a nonsense that only serves to destroy graphics cards, generating significant costs when it comes to assembling a PC.
Your phylosophy is only right when it comes to costs. 1080P with 27" is awful, being 1440P the sweetspot. 4K is unneeded for 27" for sure, but the pixel density is quite cool
