The latest stories I've read regarding the epa's stance, is whatever original emissions equipment it came with are there for life. Also consider that the latest tier of diesel regs requires dpf & scr for true off-road equipment. In fact the epa is saying ANY tuning (gas or diesel) beyond OE or carb approved is not allowed.
If the the people at the epa want to make any claims that they have any control over us to do what we want with our own vehicles let them step forward instead they choose to send out complaints and extort people

@@jamesg6071 if you look at any new diesels and talk to mechanics about any of them, you're going to be told that they all have some sort of problems. if you treat any new truck good you shouldn't have many problems with any brand these days honestly.

1. No… you’ll go into limp mode 2. Yes, though it depends on which tuner you buy from. They can return your truck to factory. 3. They make 0hp tunes, just simple tunes to delete everything and the smoke depends on how well your tune is written. But at 0hp you won’t have to worry about that

I worked in a garage for years and have my own shop (farm) In the past, I was CNG fuel conversion certified before I retired. I understand the more you work on the same model and year, the easier it becomes.. I have never completed a DEF Delete.. how long did it take to work out all kinks? Codes and all.

Thanks for the video brotha! Two schools of thought on disconnecting EGR and Throttle valve. Some say leave it and the tune will overcome that and others say disconnect. Do you still recommend disconnecting?
@darkirondiesel. I noticed your coolant tank is low at the min line be cautious these titans go through egr coolers and burn coolant. Obviously can cause a major problem. Just had mine fixed i am lucky it’s only repair I have needed but Nissan says to over fill the coolant so the level is higher than the cooler it’s self. Monitor how much coolant you use and how many miles you go to determine if it’s got an internal leak. Great video by the way very informative.
I am having the same issue with mine right now. I keep losing coolant. I have 93,000 on it. Would deleting it fixed this issue? Did you take it to dealership? Was it covered under warranty? I have a feeling it won’t be covered which is why I’m thinking of just converting to farm truck!
@@gregdelbosque6573 some people delete the egr cooler on diesels and yes if you delete it then it won’t be an issue. Deleting any emissions components on a modern diesel is a no no and is illegal. I can only speak for my self but I had mine fixed under warranty at the dealer. If your not sure if you are covered under factory warranty call any Nissan dealership give them your vin number and ask them if you have coverage. On my truck I filled the coolant expansion-tank just over the height of the egr cooler next to it that’s higher than the full line but that’s what my friend that is a Nissan tech told me to do. I then monitored how many miles until the level dropped to min. Mine was in 400 miles!!!! No smoke out the exhaust but I attribute that to how much these modern diesels filter out with the s.c.r. Systems. Had it replaced haven’t had an issue since hope this helps.

Never knew about unplugging the throttle valve, why is that necessary? Just curious because this is the first time I heard of it. I was told to leave the EGR plugged in because the tune commands it to stay shut and that if you unplug it then it could possibly open.

This is exactly what I am looking to do with mine. With diesel over $5/gal, I'm primarily interested in fuel economy. I'm not looking to blow smoke or squeal tires. I got the SOTF switch with mine, I plan on playing around with it to find the sweet spot.

You’ll blow up your engine man. Your exhaust filters will plug and cause serious engine damage. If you want it to appear stock you can remove your stock exhaust, then gut the insides and weld it back together
So I have a quick question so I have a 2016 Nissan Titan pro 4x diesel I love the truck but I am getting the def system error code a lot I was told it was the def injector but that’s a $960 fix I’m new to diesels and have seen in forums and stuff that the def system fails a lot on these trucks so my question is does doing the delete will it get rid of the code and def system problems that are mentioned a lot with the truck? I love the truck and the def system seems to be the only downfall to these trucks so wanting to know if this will fix that problem? I’m not doing it for hp or anything just to get rid of the def problem
Had a 2016 titan with the 5.0 Cummins bought it with 46k on it at 49k it snapped the driver side exhaust cam and broke 2 rocker arms clean off. Got screwed because it was deleted by previous owner and the dealership sold me the truck with full factory warranty so I’ll never buy a deleted Nissan Titan again lol.
Its actually illegal to buy a deleted vehicle already. Might wanna look into that. Nothing wrong with a deleted vehicle but it would void any warrenty. That should have been told to you along with the truck being deleted

I recently was forced to purchase a new crate engine for my 16 XD as the #3 main bearing let go and I was out of warranty, my pickup has straight exhaust and the tuner, so no def or operating EGR, so where do I go to find the parts so that I don't have to put this none functioning EGR cooler on this new engine, I'm looking all over seems like parts everywhere for every other diesel 🤦🤷 off road/farm truck from South Dakota please and thank you for your time!

I just took a chance on a ‘17 with 40K miles. Kinda scary since parts are getting harder and harder to come by. I’m hoping it treats us well. I couldn’t pass up on the price though. We paid a little over $42K for it. Great service history. Dealer serviced fuel filters and trans right before I got it.
Well… if SOME race cars and deleted trucks act responsibly, there would be less problems. No need to wake up babies and neighbors with drone (btw awful driver’s ear drums) or rolling coal as a demonstration. Having said that, i think oil refiners must have lobbied because what would they do with all the gasoline? Now their position is great- cars run on gas, big trucks on diesel and the extra diesel sold to Europe. With all the agency rules - look at who benefits.

I boughtvthe 2018 because it was updated because of prior issues with the 16 and 17. The 18 is mint
i lost my def system in a boating accident, and i drive my guns on the farm.

Why unplug the throttle valve? I understand unplugging the egr valve but don’t understand why or what the throttle valve does that you unplugged?
To use the SOTF does the EZ Link have to stay plugged up to your OB2?

I just took a chance on a ‘17 with 40K miles. Kinda scary since parts are getting harder and harder to come by. I’m hoping it treats us well. I couldn’t pass up on the price though. We paid a little over $42K for it. Great service history. Dealer serviced fuel filters and trans right before I got it.

Well… if SOME race cars and deleted trucks act responsibly, there would be less problems. No need to wake up babies and neighbors with drone (btw awful driver’s ear drums) or rolling coal as a demonstration.
Having said that, i think oil refiners must have lobbied because what would they do with all the gasoline? Now their position is great- cars run on gas, big trucks on diesel and the extra diesel sold to Europe. With all the agency rules - look at who benefits.
