David Barker a quick google will show Americans have raced. I'm not even American but at least use facts. I don't even care for f1 or Indy, I prefer rally. I'm not dissing them either. I'll still watch an f1 race over Indy though. Going around a circle doesn't appeal to me.
I wonder how many of the people making derogatory Danica statements have ever even driven a car capable of speed in excess of 200mph? In an actual race? Or finished in the top 5 at the Indianapolis 500? She finished 4th her rookie season and led 19 laps. I wonder how many of you have led laps in any race that anybody would recognize the name of? I wonder how many of you have actually won an Indy race? A 26-year-old Danica Patrick won the Indy Japan 300 at Twin Ring Motegi in Motegi, Japan, making her the first female winner in IndyCar racing history. And all of you people bashing Danica? Exactly -- That's why, as a European, I'm f*cking tired of that F1 crap. F1 going mainstream on social media has ruined the vibe, experience & general atmosphere around it. All those kids who think they know it all because they play their daily online race on their PlayStation... Everyone here acting like F1 drivers are a million times better than Indycar drivers while those are 2 completely different categories and F1 cars 60% drive for themselves...
Sad thing is that drivers like Lando Norris, Alex Albon, Max Verstappen promoted this king of "edgy, meme" behavior and made it 10x worse than it already was.

Where is the "explains the intricacies" part? Ms. Patrick certainly knows more about driving an Indycar than I do, but I'm pretty sure I could hold up a steering wheel, read some labels, and make guesses about what the other buttons do.
I'm guessing it's because she uses a different wheel for her team so she's not 100% on what they assigned each button to do

This was the worst explanation of a racing car steering wheel.
This is on the TV production crew. . .I was a director of "live" TV newscasts and other "live" events for 40 years, and this was so poorly done that it's laughable. . .and not Danica's fault. They didn't bother to record "B-roll" with close-ups of the wheel or produce basic graphics to give the viewer a better look at it while she talked. They should have planned a sequence that she would follow during the explanation so that each important point would be properly highlighted and shown to the viewer. The TV guys just told her to hold the wheel up and go over it. That combined with the poor audio ended up with a somewhat confusing couple of minutes. Believe me, I know, the TV guys just got lazy on this one. . .This isn't her fault.

Eoin Cassin different wheels are marked and coloured and configured differently even within a team, there’s a reason drivers don’t use each other’s, and I doubt she got a chance to talk to max chilton about what every button on his wheel does
