Folks should ignore any childish and unnecessary comments below. This is a well put together collection of interesting places and the city is well worth a visit. The Roker Seaburn coastline is fantastic with many restaurants, cafes and places to stay. Get lucky with the weather and there is nowhere better!
My home till 1967 and then we moved ,I was 16 and didn’t want to go ,mum and dad from here, trips to the match with sons ,oh boy do I miss it ,favourite dance hall BayHotel on the seafront!
Id recommended going to a sunderland match at the stadium of light as well if you're a football fan, great atmosphere, one of the biggest stadiums in the country as well
It's a dump. lived there for 40 years, it steadily got ruined by corrupt Labour Council. Roker is a migrant hell and Fulwell is a charity shop. Seaburn is the typical short sighted council mess. To many houses getting crammed in, not enough services. Check out the seaburn centre if you want to see a short sighted eyesore. It was shit in the 80s and it got worse.

As a sunderland native I agree and have done 😂
Ha I've been to all of these!!😀😁
I live in Sunderland
Nice place if you close your eyes.
My cousins train is in the garage
Herrington Pit was never an open cast mine. get your facts right before making such crap comments.
No it was a place to play with your mates on bikes after it shut down and hearing your mother bellow from fletcher Cresent to come home 😂😂😂
Why would you have mine shaft relics in an alleged former open cast mine, the commentary is verbal lunacy
Keel Square is a top tourist destination? Really?
Very boring city
Pity Sunderland is actually a nightmare.
No.1 This former bomb site....
Nothing like a nightmare , brilliant place to live
@@juliesurtees7214 It really isn’t. Was born and raised here for over a decade, just miserable. Glad I left.
