Great video. I like that it's all your own footage and that you narrate the video and don't rely on robo-voice software like some similarly-themed videos.
I really like this new channel you created Alex and so many subscribers in such short time. I find all your entries so interesting and informative, thank you
Interesting video! Durham was the biggest surprise to me. One reason that Hull property prices are cheap is that its affluent suburbs are outside the city boundary. This gets reflected in other statistics that are related to affluence too.
That's the same with Bradford as well, although within Bradford Metropolitan District, parts of Bradford are extremely expensive such as Ilkley where the average price is £511,000 and it's a sizable place as well plus Burley in Wharfedale, Bingley and Menston ect.
I'm 20 and saving up for a house in England. I want a safe and well-connected city to live in but I am stumped, where would you recommend I research more about?
North has been poor for decades. All money in the south isn’t true either. There’s no jobs or work in the likes of Cornwall or Wiltshire unless you want to work in a charity shop
Carlisle's a great place to visit. close to the Lakes and the Scottish Borders, Hadrian's Wall too. However, floods seem to routine in parts of the city, so you may pay through the nose for insurance.
Im living more de 9/years in High Wycombe South East of England, situated between London and Oxford is Very Very expensive and i want to move to up north i been just Nothingham i love it but i what something cheap situated between close big city i find your flog i will note in my book tnx
The Sunderland - Newcastle rivalry actually predates the Jacobite rebellion by at least a century! Royalist forces from Newcastle met Scottish Covenanters based in Sunderland at the 1644 Battle of Boldon Hill.
The best part of te country to move to is Durham .a county that has everything Plus a stunnig city. Durham city bèautiful friendly and reasonably priced . Ive lived in London so i know how unfriendly and expensive it can be. Lucky for me i now live near Durham the best.
Depends on which. Can't say I've heard especially great things about Hull, Stoke or Preston, but many of these other cities are either lively metropolises or quaint historic towns.
In a way, obviously it's supply and demand, but in the main cities are cheaper because employment is hard to come by. For example, my neck of the woods, Newcastle is an absolutely cracking place to live - if you have a job. Both of my sons have had to move south to get reasonable employment.
I''m so surprised London wasn't on this list. It's SO AFFORDABLE here, like we only have an average price of £528,00 and thats NOTHING. We should be the cheapest one in the UK!
Great video, so helpful, informative and full of surprises. Thank you for posting.
No worries, thanks for watching!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not a fan of those text-to-speech auto narrated videos either!

Thank you Jane, that's kind of you to say!
is there a lot of places for rent around the UK and these parts on the list?

Don't forget Preston has good links to Liverpool as well

Notice all the poor Cities are in the North of England. Badly let down by the present Government. The money is all in the South.
No it isn’t too glib to say that
And so is all the arse holes in the south too

Nice video. Can you do one on Wales and Scotland also?
Thanks! I'm planning to at some point, although as there are so few cities in both it'll be all of them ranked by house price in each case.
Very interesting...and white mail boxes.😮❤Thank you
Born in Greenwich and live in Cambridge ❤

Well now after Learning the history of the newcastle-Sunderland hatred I can now say that I support the mackems on that one
The best part of te country to move to is Durham
.a county that has everything
Plus a stunnig city. Durham city bèautiful friendly and reasonably priced . Ive lived in London so i know how unfriendly and expensive it can be. Lucky for me i now live near Durham the best.
Are there enough employment opportunities there?
No coming from someone who lives here it’s a dump hate to break it to ya
Hull and Preston for me, maybe Sunderland area
Durham is great well worth a look
The best is Durham it has so much gping for it both the county and the city . And very reasonably priced
I’m surprised my city Lincoln wasn’t on the list because I know the house prices are dirt cheap here
Is it a nice place to live? Any jobs? Okay for a single lady? Thank you
Well funny you should say that actually - when I checked the prices, Lincoln came in at 11th cheapest!
Nice place to live though to relocate and eventually retire?
@@sarahkennedy1481It’s nice to live but job opportunities are limited and public transport can be unreliable, especially in the outskirts.
one of the reasons Hull is so cheap is the infestation of giant purple octopi
What difference does city status make if you are looking for a place to live? Most people are happy to live in mere towns.
I never claimed otherwise. This is just for comparison's sake.
The South is overpriced . Newcastle and Durham are great cities and well worth moving too
British Rule India 200 years
happy eid 😆
Super 👌. I study british accent )))
I want to Give the UK a chance me and my wife Don’t want to live in the US anymore unfortunately.
Couldn't it be said(or hasn't it been said) these cities are cheap because nobody wants to live there?

How many prisons are there in Durham
Not as many as London..
