A spacer device needs to be washed in soapy water and air-dried before use. Then stored in a cotton or paper bag to avoid static. Plastic and over-handling can cause static, which will cause the medication to stick to the inside of the spacer device resulting in the person not getting a full dose of medication.
No... You have to 1.exhale fully 2.attach ur mouth to the mouth piece of spacer 3.fully press the cannister, inhale deeply for 2-3 sec for better intake of medication 4.hold ur breath for 10 sec for better absorption into ur body and exhale out slowly with pursued lips
There are 2 techniques 1 is single breathe and hold which is breathing in the medication and holding breath for 10 seconds then exhale thru a pursed lip. 2.multiple breath technique : the patient inhales the medication and exhales 5 times into the spacer and the remove mouth and exhale via a pursed lip. Im sorry but you have contaminated the spacer and MDI. Using gloves is key.. That cleaning method is bad .. your hands was touching the mouth piece where the paitent sputum would set in a regular setting. Then u put the spacer on a tray that isnt clean either. Just not proper hygiene in my opinion.

Great job! I noticed you are not wearing gloves. May i know why please?
Adeyemi Jumoke I think you’re only required to wear gloves when coming in contact with bodily fluids.
No contact with bodily fluids. Most med pass have no glove requirement.
