    No need for an either/or decision on the intake hose/elbow if you go for a single piece hose with integral turbo coupling (no separate elbow needed). The Forge one is a good piece of kit. MRC also use a Forge hose but with their own coupling design. Clearly you wouldn’t for the purposes of this video, but Mark’s money saving tip of the day for anyone considering a similar setup. Great video thanks Andrew. 🙌🏼

    When you drove a Mk8 GTI with the sunroof, vs your own without a sunroof, was the difference really noticeable in terms of handling? Would it the weight of the sunroof be noticeable on a track day?

    • @volkswizard
      @volkswizard  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question! Not driven a car with a sunroof on track but the physics would suggest it's not a good idea, the additional weight in the roof will be magnified with lateral loading and increase body roll. Also it can't be good for torsional rigidity, the cracks on later 7.5 GTI sunroof surrounds are testament to this.

      @Kraken2681994 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@volkswizardracks around the sunroof frame? I'm currently in a Mk7 GTD looking to move into a Petrol 7.5.
      Like pan roofs on hot days, didn't have a great experience when it jammed on my R56 JCW. Is it much the same story for the VW Group pan roofs.... Good when they are new and in warranty, expensive and noisey when they aren't 😆?

    so the old clubsport has more power than the mk8 clubsport?

    • @volkswizard
      @volkswizard  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a Clubsport S so isn't directly comparable to Mk8 CS, Clubsport Edition 40 is 265/290 PS depending on overboost. Having said that you could say Mk8 Clubsport is the old GTI Performance as it's the second model in GTI line up so 245 has become 300 PS. There is a feeling that power outputs won't get much higher now though due to ICE R&D budgets slashed to fund EV development and ever tightening emissions regulations

      With just the R600 yes, with the TIP and hose no not really - the plot shows 4500 rpm is where it performs better but even 100% standard it's fierce from that point onwards anyway. But the data doesn't lie so it's there, maybe with some more miles where I drive it hard I will notice a difference but well worth the cost anyway
