    I was able to replace my radiator by watching this video and taking the advice of a friend. If you're unsure how to get the new radiator in without it getting damaged by the power steering container corners just practice putting the old radiator back in until your ready. Also, my car has A/C so I tied the loose hoses up to a dip stick before detaching them. That way they didn't leak. One last thing, check the large hose to see if its soft when you pinch it, if it is just replace it now instead of waiting until it cracks. Good Luck!

    Points at the lower-hose and calls it the upper-hose... The drain plug is on the "side" (passenger side) of the radiator towards the bottom. (the unit is mounted sideways so the reservoirs are left and right not top and bottom ~ picture a regular radiator and turn it sideways now the bottom where the drain should be is now on the side and a couple of inches from the bottom) All in all a good video. The upper hose is where the fluid enters the radiator, the coolest water is at the bottom of the radiator.

    I just installed mine with this video. My chevy aveo 2007 have air conditioning and I used the same method. I have no idea what exactly he was refering too. But it works just fine. Thank you so much!!!!

    Even though a 2011 is same body style the procedure is different as the AC condenser and the auto trans lines all bolt onto the front of the radiator behind the bumper. I just pulled the bumper off since it's very simple.

    I just watched this as a refresher because this is going to be the second time I changed mine in my 07 automatic w/ac and there is no difference in replacement. regardless of your model all 07 aveo radiators follow the same procedure and may be the easiest one you can do.

    I have a 2003 Buick Rendezvous. Can you tell me, if I were to take the fitting from the transmission line off, can I just install a new one back in? Without having any problems with the flow of fluid in the coolant system. Thank you!

    • @fixingcarsandstuff
      @fixingcarsandstuff  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, taking off the transmission lines from the radiator is no issue for the cooling system. transmission cooler and radiator are built together but you can disconnect the transmission lines from the radiator you will not loose coolant or anything like that.

      Thanks for your reply. What I was asking was 'Could I take the fitting that have the clip on it off. You know the fitting that screws into the radiator with the clip to hold the line in. I didn't know but by mistake I've undone the whole fitting from the radiator. I just need to know can I screw it back on and not have any problems. Thanks@

      @@mronemanband1 LMAO What aveo did you buy? my aveo i paid 1400 dollars for 5 yrs ago and it's lasted very well. The only damage that has happened to it I take full responsibility for. I am watching this video because I took it two tracking and slammed the front in to the ground at 15 miles an hour so I think I cracked le radiator.

  • @playharder1435

    What a goofy design wrapping the transmission cooler lines around the back of the A/C condenser; as if the radiator could outlast the life of the Aveo. SMH
    Would be easier to remove the bumper and disconnect the A/C condenser; otherwise, you're damaging your brand new radiator fins.
