    just passed the skills exam portion with flying colors!! seriously these are the best ones out there. (at least for the American red cross exam in California) Wish it was complete with others, but there are other supplemental videos from the other training schools that can help out. I'm sure a lot of the viewers might be studying last minute and binge watching these vids like I did. ahaha (I recommend at least spacing out these videos within a 2 or 3 day span before the exam so you could at least practice and adhere it in your mind) Sacmed's have been the most helpful for me personally.
    My tips:
    -remember there's not one single way to do things, you can manage to get everything done in your own way as long as you go over everything.
    -make sure to go over the critical points those can make or break you.
    -SUPPLIES( I was most nervous about the issue with not remembering all the supplies I needed for the scenario) don't worry if you forget just act as you naturally would.. we're humans and we forget things naturally proctors understand that. Let the patient know that you're gonna step out to retrieve whatever supply you need. make sure to leave them in a safe position with the call light.
    -If you forgot to do something midway and realize what you've forgotten just mention it at the end and correct yourself. (You have that chance! so take it)
    -Go over the six principles of care once they ask you if there's anything you want to change. Verbalize what you did for everything for the six principles. (Helps you think about things you may have forgotten)
    -Just relax and take a deep breath. All the nervousness and anxiousness can be at an extreme high and the proctors understand that. These videos are the best out there for sure. They're the closest to the red cross manual.
    THANK YOU SOO MUCH!! My deepest gratitude goes to the team that put these videos together! Good luck to anyone taking the test. You can do it!!
    -Future RN

    Thank you for this video, it helped me pass my state test in San Jose CA, the only thing I changed with the supplies is that I had 2 basin instead of 1 but aside from that, I did exactly like you showed here and the evaluator said great job in infection control! Thank you!!!

      Cheryl Villacillo Did you use the four corner method or the mitten method with the wash cloths? I'm debating which one to use as I'm taking the test this Sunday.

    I want to be friends with this girl! Her demeanor makes me want to go cuddle haha I bet her patients adored her. I am a caregiver and these videos help me thrive in awkward situations with clients. Changing bedding on an occupied bed oddly helped me with my diaper technique👌

    Can someonne please answer why it is that in some videos the instructor will leave the side rail down on one side and in others not?

    • @juancatysusy
      @juancatysusy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      is she left the other side rail down then the resident would fall because no one is on the other side. She only has the side rail down on her side because she’s on that side to make sure the resident won’t fall.

    This video was posted 4 years ago.. is this still the way to do the skill? I’m currently in CNA school and my teacher does them way different then any vid I’ve seen.. I feel she might be teaching me wrong.

    For state, are we only going to do one side??

    • @sacmedtrainingvideotutoria6408
      @sacmedtrainingvideotutoria6408  8 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      +steff steff Yes, for the state test you'll have to demonstrate it properly on one leg 1st, and make the verbalization that you would do the same thing on the opposite leg. The reason students have said the evaluators do this is to save time because there are about 15 - 30 other people possibly testing that day. So they don't have all the time for students to do both legs when its just doing the same thing over again. But please don't forget to say that "I would do the same thing i did for this leg on the opposite leg"....because if you didn't say it...it didn't get done.

    All she washed was the leg. What about the private area? Doesn't that get washed with the bath? I think that's the most important to clean.

    My God. I work in Germany as a caregiver. I wash patients everyday. The problem is there are almost 50 patients and only 3-5 caregivers. You all make it so slow. My time doesn't allow me to work that slow. I don't have time.
