The best MDX yet. I had a '12 MDX Advance with the active suspension and loved that car. This one seems to bring back the sportiness that generation had.
The rear seat screens in the back of the QX60 are excellent if you have children and do long drives, very spacious and comfortable for adults too. I know that they don't compete when it comes to the reliability of Acura or Lexus, but the service with them has been incredible and any little issue we've had with ours has been under warranty. They always give us a loaner vehicle for service and always detail our vehicle before it's returned. My wife and I haven't considered looking at other vehicles because the service is just too damn impressive. Point being: The other vehicles are better purchases based on numbers and manufacturer's history but being valued as a customer counts for something too.
Mike Coffin agreed, have an m35x myself and my mom has a g37x and they everytime weve gone in been nothing but amazing to us ! infiniti to me is personally the best over the other two!
Clorox Bleach I am a Toyota fanboy at heart but the service and technology in the Infiniti has made my wife's life a lot easier. I wish they sold the Land Cruisers in Canada. Such a crime.
Yeah, Honda and Toyota can't complete with Infiniti reliability and it is a shame. They used to be so much better. Toyota has oil leaks, Honda has bad transmissions.
I almost bought an Acura MDX, but ended up with the Lexus rx350. Just couldn't get over the transmission issues on the Acuras. If it wasn't for that, I would have gotten the Acura. Shame bc is still my favorite looking and riding of them. But if you are looking for reliability Toyota/Lexus is king.

I'm not sure why you spent the start of the video talking about sporty performance ? The RX has a dedicated sport model (F Sport). This is the hybrid models being tested so it's geared towards MPG. The big emphasis on sport is kinda of ridiculous in these large luxury SUV. I see these cars everyday no one is racing them around. Or even remotely driving them sporty. What sells in this class is comfort, luxury, space and smooth ride. Car reviewers please stop thinking everything needs to be sporty
It's boring people like you that kills cool cars like sporty suvs for real enthusiasts. It might not be your cup of tea but there's amarket for it this they produce it. Why don't you leave the marketing up to the professionals
Toyota4Life that needed to be said. It's a luxury car. People do expect comfort, which doesn't usually come with sporty vehicles. Sure, it's nice to have a bit of power at you disposal, but luxury cars don't usually lack in power since they are pricy, and manufacturers don't want to put a crappy engine in an expensive car.
This reviewer is confusing...talks about how fast and sporty these cars are, but doesn't go into depth about the different types of hybrids. What's the point of a hybrid when you're flooring it. These types of hybrids are meant to save you on gas. It's not a NSX.
FireBlade well that engine would make that suv really fun to drive but then the mpg would drop dramatically and it already gets like 18,19 mpg with the sedans imagine with the MPG will be like for the qx60 and yeah a good tranny would be good like a dct
I think the Acura has the best performance, driving dynamics. It handles very well and overall a better 3 row SUV. The exterior looks stunning as well. The RX350 has better interior layout but that’s all.
@@perkhere2252 You know, I gotta say that you're right. Nowadays, I do prefer the push button transmission over the traditional protruding lever. Either way, the new 2020 RDX looks very sharp, and the interior is finally up to par with other luxury brands

Looking forward to an updated 2020 mdx when I turn in my 2016. I must be getting old but I prefer it to my corvette for almost everything (other then a roof off rip on a summer evening)
People keep complaining that for a hybrid it gets less mpg than the competition. people fail to realize that the hybrid tech is only there for a slight boost in performance.
Brother I appreciate your reviews but how can you say the Lexus has the nicest interior when they use fake leather 99% of the time unless you pay that premium???
Lexus is for chicks. Acura is more masculine. My Acura TL is the best vehicle I've ever owned. Best sound system hands down with the technology package. I really want a TSX Sportwagon but they are still rare and over priced.
Toyota dealer tried to sale me a hybrid camry and the cvt was dreadful as can be smh .. why i went with the 2018 2.5 8spd instead.. but acura obviously takes the cake here.. lexus is good and all but the mdx much bigger. Much quicker. Has actual gears and 27mpg is more than decent for how big it is..
This does not look like the Lexus 450h. The Lexus 450h has a different gauge display. It has a blue indicator (eco, charge, power) to the left on the speedometer gauge. The car used in the drive is probably the RX 350, which has a traditional gauge cluster.
Some people don't have the ability to have multiple cars say for sport, utility or luxury. Hence, the reason for cars to have different abilities and/or ride comforts that also effects the power response out of the drivetrain. IMO overall some people don't want to lose the "fun" aspect of driving with a car that is just get in and move from point A to B and back! They want to maybe have some "sporty" feel or aspects to remind them that they are a little bit alive when driving!
My family used to own a QX60 and it was the worst car we ever owned. Not only was it extremely over priced, but we had multiple mechanical issues. We had to replace the transmission at only 5K miles. We also had it in the shop many times for multiple airbag issues. We had rust on the frame and interior pieces literally started to fall off. The CVT sucked ass also. Dont ever buy a QX60.
Matthew Taylor that is not true. We have had the QX60 since it was released in 2012(JX35) and we have had zero issues. It is an amazing car. Thus, there was a recall on the passenger airbag light, not on its functionality. To be honest, all these 3 card have their advantages and disadvantages. It all comes down to individual's needs. In our case, we cared space and practicality which the infiniti offered at a better price. I dont understand why is everyone hating on the brands that they dont own? isnt it good to have different options? competition is good for consumers
Great review!! I personally think all 3 are great and definitely a bargain compared to the Euros. No car is perfect but at the end of the day it comes down to your own preference. Wow looks like all the Lexus fanboys came out to defend the brand. Talk about ignorant. I bet most of you defending Lexus couldn't even afford to own one. Lack of respect and understanding.
Honestly, not having a third row wouldn't be that big of a deal for me. Especially since it means that the second row has more space. I'm the youngest of two and we've had our 2008 Highlander for 9 years now, and we've used the third row three times at most.
Have 13 Rx450h. Never get the mileage estimated, not close. I drive swiftly but at best get 21 with AC running in SoCal. Peppy onramps but not as economy as promised.
Dual-clutch in a hybrid SUV is pointless. You expect everyone who buys this car is going to drive fast and track it? Acura better spend the effort to design some better interior.
Your perspective on this segment of vehicles is a little off. These vehicles are not meant to be sporty, rev demons, you’re looking for something different when these are meant to be people haulers that are spacious, luxurious and very comfortable. I guess the Lexus has earned my vote since Toyota clearly knows what they’re aiming for. What is it with you “review” people always thinking about the need for sporty driving for just about everything. There’s the Lexus F sport, Audi S, Merc AMG, etc for your needs, this isn’t the right one.
first I'd like the Acura then I will like that Lexus then would be actually I don't really like the style of the infinity so it's between the Acura and Lexus
romel 4life Infiniti sucks compared to Lexus, Infiniti uses very cheap materials and is unreliable and multimedia sucks I connected my phone to the Q50 and 2 minutes after it disconnected for no reason ...
well that's a user problem if your phone disconnects cause mine stay7s connected on my q60 and INFINITI SUCK WOOOOOOW ( but I respect your opinion ) and how is leather, wood, injection molded dash sound cheap
Acura WINS hands down 🥇🏆👑 Lexus is too light and is only a pillow on wheels. Infinity is a mix of luxury and sport. It literally mimics Nissan, so in other words, an imitation luxury.
So? Car manufacturers bring professional car journalists to review their car amongst competitors all the time. That means nothing, especially when the MDX hybrid is new. It's practically free advertisement as well.
I'm trying to figure out what Nissan/Infiniti was smoking when they thought of the QX60 hybrid. A 2.5liter I4 supercharged + 40hp electric motor for ~$60k? I'm not going to even try to elaborate. The MDX is a solid car and the hybrid is better, but the interior is just plastic city. It probably has the most sporty powertrain but these family 3 row SUVs are mainly driven as commuters & family haulers. I'm not sure if sporty handling & ride is desirable for this segment. For this reason, the RX450h wins. No wonder it remains a top seller with the MDX following and no wonder I don't recall seeing a QX60 in about 6 months.
Trades46 I've never seen an Infiniti or an Acura in the road but I've seen a few Lexus vehicles. But it makes sense that people want reliable cars when they spend the big bucks.
Im sorry Roman but you have no idea then what a luxury car of 60k or more should look like in the interior, look at the infiniti air vents, its actually funny , I had an infiniti QX60 and some pieces fell off in my hand,I cant say the same thing in an Audi whatever model you look at, shame on Japanese cars, but people dont care the still spending their big money on those (over 60k)
It would have been nice for this comparison to have provided readers with data: 0-60, MPGs, interior volume. The vague observations & chatty reflections given here arent really helpful.
Hey Guys, would really like to see your opinion and review of a Head 2 Head with the Durango R/T and Explorer Sport. I've seen the other guy on YT and it was downright boring and frankly didn't provide the info or entertainment TFL provides! Lol, if it happens, great!
The front of the Acura is still not for my taste. The headlights are weird and the grill is a no no. Lexus and Infiniti look better. Lexus too is the most reliable car. For this amount of money to spend, I'd put my trust on Lexus. Nice try Acura.
Second video that is bias to the acura. Really hate the push button transmission. Also you can tell the QX60 was not in the sport mode when he floored it.
Nissan & In -failer have new slogan "CVT because we don t know better" Acura i think needs a third screen.2 screens in Acura are not distracting enough.
Completely biased review for Acura. The other two different vehicles. Also didn’t mention the display screen which is very difficult to use on the Acura. You’re comparing hybrids and want them to be sporty. Lol.
The Fast Lane Car : Seriously ? Are you a professional auto journalist ? Here for you to read: www.hybridcars.com/2016-lexus-rx-450h-hybrid-grows-in-size-power/. If a motor is only located in the rear , how would a motor on FWD 450h drive the front wheels ?????? Shame on you ! By the way I own RX-450h.
Pocha S I was just gonna comment on this when I saw your comment. I drive an RX400h and it has 3 engines (ICE and an electric one in front and another electric one at the back). Also on the video itself you could see the three engines on the energy display of the RX.
The Infiniti is due a replacement, so that is the reason the design is not as fresh particularly inside. The Acura has just been released and i cant say that exterior styling is anything special, considering the competition especially from the European brands, they should have been a bit more brave, the interior is just plain dated and utterly boring. The Lexus is a few years older and still looks newer inside and out when compared to the Acura.
Wade Higgins you don't understand the purpose of these suvs there family suvs and the fact you comparing the sport model to this make no sense and your talking about the fully spec out q60 that gets literally every option infiniti offers your making no sense
Wade Higgins holy cap you responded extremely fast and it doesn't matter you posted a comment to the public so expect to get a response I'm just trying to defend my favorite company as you can tell by my profile pic lol
First thing I noticed is the Acura's cabin was alot louder. In my opinion Lexus wins all day every day. Its up there with BMW and Mercedes while Acura and Infiniti is just ehh.
Genesis is only Asian automaker that is now up their with the German competitors. Acura, Infiniti, and Lexus are a bit behind. But of course Acura and Lexus will always have the strong reliability and resale values.
So MDX is the sportiest, QX60 with the cushiest/comfortable ride and RX beig the quietest. MDX seems like the loser here since comfort and ride quality is the most important category.
Every manufacturer has their pros and cons. Lexus front end look like a giant vacuum cleaner, and it try to scream some sportiness but cvt put it back in reality. Acura’s dual screen is the worst I ever experienced, not only its complicated, its voice recognition system is terrible. Honda Civic get apple car play, what’s wrong with Acura? Infinity kinda falls in the middle, outdated infotainment system, needs apple car play. Put the 3.7L v6 motor in the qx60! Look at some euro car makers, bmw and MB’s don’t get leather seats on their entry models. You will pay up thousands to upgrade. Ymmv on your selection on cars, don’t just listen to these car pros, they make a living reviewing cars for manufacturers and they are always going to be bias. My 05 Honda Pilot is going on 200k mark, all I did is change oil and replace water pump when it turn over 120k few years ago. I also had 05 Nissan Altima was 150k, I sold it to a friend it still run like a champ. I currently drive an 16 Infiniti QX80 and despite it is a gas hog I love how it handles in snow and how comfy it is. Also my dealership is awesome when it come to service, they drop me off a loaner where ever I’m at in town and takes my car in for service, which I never experienced with bmw, Lexus or Acura. I wouldn’t pick any these 3 vehicles, but the infinity service wins.
Please god no. Giant touchscreen in cars is the worse thing on any modern car, period. Distracting visually & not tactile, hard to use and a pain at night.
And when you buy a family cruzer your not flooring your car all the time and you always say I love the acura its qui we u and everything good about the Acura
I own a Acura and love it , but I have to say Lexus do have a better interior. The Acura MDX love the exterior.
I love how everyone in the comments only talks about the Acura and the Lexus, completely disregarding the Infiniti. 🤣🤣🤣

2017 MDX looks very aggressive 👍

Graham Clarence I see Acuras all the time and I live in Chicago actually I see all three types all the time but I see Infiniti the least
Nissan is really dumb
Im sorry Roman but you have no idea then what a luxury car of 60k or more should look like in the interior, look at the infiniti air vents, its actually funny , I had an infiniti QX60 and some pieces fell off in my hand,I cant say the same thing in an Audi whatever model you look at, shame on Japanese cars, but people dont care the still spending their big money on those (over 60k)
ACURA!
Lexus/Toyota all the way. They make the best vehicles in the world.
It would have been nice for this comparison to have provided readers with data: 0-60, MPGs, interior volume. The vague observations & chatty reflections given here arent really helpful.
Lexus hands down no contest Lexus most reliable
Hey Guys, would really like to see your opinion and review of a Head 2 Head with the Durango R/T and Explorer Sport. I've seen the other guy on YT and it was downright boring and frankly didn't provide the info or entertainment TFL provides! Lol, if it happens, great!
I believe the "OtherGuy" was from cars.com or something. can't remember since I don't subscribe to them.
The front of the Acura is still not for my taste. The headlights are weird and the grill is a no no. Lexus and Infiniti look better. Lexus too is the most reliable car. For this amount of money to spend, I'd put my trust on Lexus. Nice try Acura.
I never thought I'd ever say this in my life but I think the Lexus is the nicest looking of the bunch.
🤔I Noticed A Trend. Every Journalist Thinks About Sporty. On an SUV. Think of it for what it is.
Nissan/infinity always wins😎😎
acura is better in every way just a better vehicle.
like MDX the most, but Lexus has 10 plus years in the hybrid system.
I'll take the infiniti on reliability.
Modern Vintage Lifestyles 😂
It literally goes in order of most reliable: Lexus, Acura, Infiniti. Infiniti also has the lowest resale value.
You never said how much Acura MDX cost.....Lexus was 56-57k, infinity was 62k........Acura?
Mdx all day
Soon as he said "Acura brought me over to check there new hybrid MDX..." sounds like an ad more than honest and non biased review
Second video that is bias to the acura. Really hate the push button transmission. Also you can tell the QX60 was not in the sport mode when he floored it.
For everyone who thinks that the ACURAS interior is crap I agree with you but just wait ACURAS coming out with a PRECISION COCKPIT soon
Nissan & In -failer have new slogan "CVT because we don t know better" Acura i think needs a third screen.2 screens in Acura are not distracting enough.
Acura and Lexus all day.
I wonder how much the MDX costs to replace those dual clutches when they stop clutching?
Time with Don I bet it costs an arm and a leg lol
Completely biased review for Acura. The other two different vehicles. Also didn’t mention the display screen which is very difficult to use on the Acura. You’re comparing hybrids and want them to be sporty. Lol.
Acura is the best looking to me
That chin Lexus has gone with doesn't seem to be a great idea. It's going to get messed up by parking curbs and it looks like a helmet. Ewe!!
Roman, hasn't Acura had multiple reports of problems with their Dual Clutch transmissions?
Rumpa Stiltskin nope
You said Lexus has an electric motor in the back. Nope, a motor is located in front (both FWD & AWD) and in rear (AWD).
+Pocha S actually a gasoline powered engine is located in the front and an electric motor is located in the back of the Lexus hybrid.
Give him a break guys he only had 5 minutes in each vehicle he probably had to fly through the specs and then give a review
Pocha S I was just gonna comment on this when I saw your comment. I drive an RX400h and it has 3 engines (ICE and an electric one in front and another electric one at the back). Also on the video itself you could see the three engines on the energy display of the RX.
Acura all day
The Infiniti is due a replacement, so that is the reason the design is not as fresh particularly inside. The Acura has just been released and i cant say that exterior styling is anything special, considering the competition especially from the European brands, they should have been a bit more brave, the interior is just plain dated and utterly boring. The Lexus is a few years older and still looks newer inside and out when compared to the Acura.
So much bullshit in one comment 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lexus RX FSport? Yes! All these are ugly. 63k for the nissan, NO!
Wade Higgins you don't understand the purpose of these suvs there family suvs and the fact you comparing the sport model to this make no sense and your talking about the fully spec out q60 that gets literally every option infiniti offers your making no sense
romel 4life I was never talking to you
Wade Higgins holy cap you responded extremely fast and it doesn't matter you posted a comment to the public so expect to get a response I'm just trying to defend my favorite company as you can tell by my profile pic lol
romel 4life lol, Lexus is my favorite but this one is just hideous
First thing I noticed is the Acura's cabin was alot louder. In my opinion Lexus wins all day every day. Its up there with BMW and Mercedes while Acura and Infiniti is just ehh.
Genesis is only Asian automaker that is now up their with the German competitors. Acura, Infiniti, and Lexus are a bit behind. But of course Acura and Lexus will always have the strong reliability and resale values.
The RX wins in overall ratings!
acura is way better
So MDX is the sportiest, QX60 with the cushiest/comfortable ride and RX beig the quietest. MDX seems like the loser here since comfort and ride quality is the most important category.
Roman is not the most knowledgeable about cars, I like Nathan more.
The Acura interior is so ugly. The air vents look cheap and the double screen can be a hassle sometimes. It should one giant screen.
Bao Tran double screens are cool. I have no problem using them.
Bao Tran By time I got used to the double screens in my 2015 MDX, actually it's more practical than my 2016 pilot one "smudged" touch screen!
fahed1991 the Acura in my opinion has the best looking exterior. The interior could use some improvements.
Bao Tran think so?
Please god no. Giant touchscreen in cars is the worse thing on any modern car, period. Distracting visually & not tactile, hard to use and a pain at night.
Honda/Acura wins!!!
yousuf aijaz noooooo lexus beats the shit out of the mdx
Jordin Young wait to next year
Jalin Fuller lol the RXL destroyed the mdx
yousuf aijaz TOYOTA/LEXUS WINS!!😂
I test drove the MDX and wasnt impressed. Felt a little chunky
Isnt that the same steering wheel on the older GS models in the lexus? I I would defiantly take the lexus.
And when you buy a family cruzer your not flooring your car all the time and you always say I love the acura its qui we u and everything good about the Acura
Acura all day long
