    I really appreciate that you talked about making your own chicken for sandwiches because you eat sandwiches so often but you didn’t make store bought deli meats sound scary. I love seeing examples like this when your nutrition knowledge informs your choices without any fear or going to extremes. Your approach to food is so refreshing!

    I’ve never watched a *what I eat in a day* video that was so… normal AND healthy. I’ve only seen “I’m gorging myself on a ridiculous amount of food because I’m bulking for a show” or “I only eat twigs and air” Yours is fantastic. Love it!

      I'm so happy to hear that! Sometimes it just helps to explain the thought process/whats going on inside my brain!

    Lol I’m glad you have written down “gentle nutrition” because you speedily ramble those words together so much I can’t understand what you’re saying 😂 but seriously though, thank you so much for your channel. I have such a bad relationship with food, a side of guilt with everything I eat. Thank you for helping me feel better 😊🩷

    Omg i need to try this! I’m exactly the same - yogurt is too thick and cereal too thin. I’m SO excited to try this mash up! 👏🏽👏🏽

      Here in Greece we have a product named "kefir" it's like yoghurt but not so thick, it's amazing! I don't know if you can find it in other countries too, but check this out, with some cereal or some fruits it is A-MA-ZI-NG ✨❤️

    I keep coming back to your videos. I’m 37 and have been “dieting” since I was about 11 years old. I’ve lost and gained nearly 500 pounds in my life. I’m still currently labeled with the lovely medical term “morbidly obese”. So it’s safe to say dieting isn’t working. It’s food obsession. Can someone that is in the obese category still practice intuitive eating? It’s not about my dress size but about health.

      Hi Ramona, I'm actually beginning this journey myself and food obsession maybe something you need to work with with a therapist and an integrated dietitian. Or any dietitian that has intuitive eating training. I talk to a counselor regularly and it's very helpful.

      Hey, I am not sure if this is relevant to you but I think you need to get yourself diagnosed first to see if you might have a depression or binge eating disorder going on along with a food addiction and some history of trauma. I am saying this because I have been in high BMI range and eating disorders do run usually in severely obese population.
      Regarding food I would recommend you work with a good dietician and keep a food journal and talk to your doctor first. You can be successful with intuitive eating as well but right now you might need more a structure with regular meals, portion control and keeping your blood sugar intact. Gentle nutrition is your goal as of right now and when you get food issues more under control you can definitely start listening to your body, for fullness and satiety clues and what you feel like eating. Both approaches do not exclude themselves

    I’ve embraced intuitive eating for several years now but I’m still at a weight where I have a lot of extra fat on my stomach. Will that ever change? Can my set point weight really be like this?

    • @annefitzgerald1744
      @annefitzgerald1744 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes. Not everyone has a skinny set point. I know…..super frustrating. Colleen says to focus on what your body can do for you, not what it looks like. (If you can accept that)
