My daughter finally able to come to US from the Philippines at the age of 13 yrs old in 2005. She's only 4'11" in height but very good in school back in the Philippines. I knew back then she will struggle with culture shock, no friends, know nothing about school system in the US. But one thing I adviced her: "If you want to be wanted, show your classmates that you are smart and be humble at the same time". In short period of time she got American friends (White, Black, Asian, Hispanic) and up to this day, most of them are still her friends. I came here in the US in 1995 and I remember when my American co-workers told me that I am patriotic and love this country more than they do.

I dont know if this message was suppose to rip on my heart as I did. Or move my convictions to a higher level or solidify my resolve as a man and as a Warrior for The Most High. But it has done all and more. 🙏🏼🙌🏼🇺🇲 Oppressors Beware, For we are the children of The Most High and in His Word we live and will die. To all evil that comes We Will Defy! Bless you Tu.

The Most High has always had His mighty men that do Righteous Violence in the name of YHWH. What is righteousness you ask, blamelessly walking in the commands of Yah. So yes evil will continue to exist and the righteous of Yah and in the name of Yashua violence is necessary at times. Believe it my friend.

Also you're painting a broad brush over all soldiers. This is a mistake as I believe soldiers are not a dime a dozen and have minds and hearts of their own.

Tu lam has inspired me when I thought all my goals were accomplished in life, I thought I was just supposed to coast by now. I joined the Army completed 3 combat tours (missed both my kids births) and became a police officer. I suffered a severe spinal cord injury setting me back and feeling defeated. I felt as if I did everything I needed to do and started to lose motivation. Movement is life, we all need to keep moving. Tu Lam is a true inspiration and the definition of what America stands for.

I needed this Tu. I’ve been struggling lately to get motivated and find my purpose again. Was a drug addict for almost 10 years and completely turned my life around but these past 3 weeks have been filled with guilt, depression, and no motivation to push forward. I needed to hear this today. Thank you 🙏

I came across this video today at arguably a top 3 lowest moment of my life. I am ill, not allowed to come back to work because of it for the time being, and I am lacking hope and purpose. I was a relentlessly motivated, service-driven guy by nature keeping myself busy and seeking fulfillment through my efforts to serve others in a way I enjoy. Now at the time I viewed this and listened carefully to every word, I can have considerable difficulty just walking around or standing up from my bed. I really dug deep inside to tune into that man I know is still inside me. I self-critiqued, evaluated, and asked some hard questions. All of this rocked my world and gave me the perspective in order to understand I can, and should, employ more discipline to modify self-defeating behavior, implement better sleeping, eating, and exercise healthy habits to improve my mental health. To try elevating myself higher than what I feel keeps me down in order to strategize a plan of attack. A plan to attack and overcome the adversity that is latching on painfully and tightly. I am so appreciative for your wise words, Tu. For sharing your story. Your journey that has positively influenced my own and served, to me, as a powerful wake-up call.

Tu, I was around 10 when the US and North Vietnam signed the treaty ending hostilities, and a couple of years older when the North invaded. I was in high school when refugees from the south started getting resettled in my home town, and I heard a lot of rumors that weren’t true. My conservative Christian working class family at least didn’t encourage looking down noses at anyone. At least one teacher in my school did make a point to explain how many Vietnamese families survived in a new lane where they felt about as welcome as you did, yet pooled their efforts and resources in order to make the best of a bad situation. That point has stayed with me. Old American Viet Nam vets who served as mentors to me as well as studying the history not taught in schools helped me realize the struggles the refugees from communism in Asia really had to endure. Thank you for your perseverance and your service to this Nation. Thank you for your continued service after retirement. I appreciate your training videos. I really appreciate this one as continue to pursue my “why.”

I have never seen anyone who is more of a warrior then Tu, everything from his use of firearms and conventional weapons to his warrior spirituality and philosophy, I hope I can take one of his courses one day, I learn a lot from his videos, could only imagine the knowledge gained from a in person course.

Amen Tu...Thank you for all you have done and your service to our adopted country. Personally I want thank you for being a great mentor of mine. I know your story well because I have lived a similar life and have had a similar path growing up here in America brother. I am a fellow hard to pronouce named American-Laotian U.S. Army veteran & former LE to now serving my community as a High School World History Teacher & Coach (Once a warrior...always a protector). With your permission I would like to use this video in my classes when I teach about the Vietnam war and the Secret war in Laos. Just so you know...I ask my students and athletes everyday in class & on the football field the following question: "What happened this morning? You woke up...now live today to it's fullest, have no regrets & give your best effort in everthing you do today." Again, thanks for all you do in our freedom ensuring community, I hope & look forward to attending one of your classes in the future. Happy belated b-day and blessings to you and your family...from a brother in TX.

Thank you so much for sharing this story. It goes to show; you can be different and STILL be a fighting man, still serve the country you love without having to explain yourself or ask for special treatment. I think many so called ”patriots” need to hear this story. To know the struggle and the determination that grows in the hearts of those who have to fight both the enemy abroad AND the hate from those they have sworn to protect and STILL come out on top. ✌🏾😊

When this man sat on the PDB podcast as a Vietnamese immigrant. He was spat on, hated, attacked. And even after all of this, he referred to other Americans as "our people" when discussing why he put his life on the line to protect the country that once hated him.
    God bless you! 🇨🇦

The irony is the more i expose myself to discomfort the less i feel discomfort. I also wake up at 4am and run when it is night and fog iin the forest, i didnt know you wake up at 4 am. I wanted and i still want to join my army but idk if i will succeed even joining or becoming a professional soldier. I just try to be real and prepared for anything, even the fact that i might fail my task but as you said we have no control over the future only over what we do now so that is what im focused on right now,i noticed that the more i expose myself to pain and discomfort that i focus less on all of that and i realised how trivial some problems in life are and what a big deal we make of those small problems, but you really went through hell and i congratulate you for managing to fight your way out of it,i seriously have nothing to complain about once i heard your story. All that i can do now as a thank you to what you said is keep going with my routine, even though i could do so much more... And i should and i will.Im also working on saying calm and focused under any kind of press ure i stumble upon and practicing that means the world to me and idk where i learned that but every time i take a breath in and out i feel calmer and calmer, its like all i ever wanted was to feel calm, but i have been doing it wrong until i realised how to do that.
