The Art of War - has been part of my way of life. At 17 - I read it first. The book requires a life of asking one question - WHY. And then thinking about it - meditating and then allowing the Subconscious and Unconscious minds to integrate. I asked why - once a day , I changed one thing about me I wanted to improve. Some stuck - because they were good choices. Negative - ask why - change mind and continue. 15,000 choices. Add meditation and mindfulness and - well - it brings rewards. I don't recall how many times I have re-read it but at least yearly. There is a language - not written in words, but feelings - and things that have no words. Cheers Sirs

"The nation which separates its warriors from its scholars will have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting done by fools." This is where the warrior needs to know his traits and how those traits can be manipulated by the state. Too many in the military believe they are defending nation and government above all. This is wrong, or ought not be. The American Founders rejected nation and state over principles. Their allegiance was in the self evident truth that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights. When their nation or government came in conflict with this truth, they chose the right path, the honorable path. And that path was to reject nation and government....and follow the narrow path...
Andrew Polkowski You do understand that most Christians in the Modern West are Protestants and other off branches of that sect of Christianity right? Tokugawa Ieyasu (徳川家康) is truly an interesting an exhausting history to read/learn about. Miyamoto Musashi as well. As yonsei and sansei (fourth and third generation) Japanese, I didn’t learn that growing up. It wasn’t until I got into my early 30’s that I learned about them. Even though I had grown up doing Judo. So I appreciate your approach from that perspective 👍🏻
Truly great storys. Yeah, Judo these days has just to much focus on the Olympics! Newaza got so small that BJJ could capitalize on it. Otherwise there were no need for it. Kyokushin Karate still has strong bounds to Miyamoto Musashi though. Mas Oyama was inspired by him and his book. Even so much that he trained in the mountains like Musashi did. If there is anyone interested in the true shinobi, I recommend reading the BasenShukai and Shinoniki. Both are manuals written by people of ninja heritage and that were sold to the imperialist because during the Meji era the warrior class became poor . All very fascinating.
That was rad, thanks gents. If y'all were to give my Pinoy ancestors, the Moro warriors of the Spanish American War of 1896, as thorough a treatment I would be most grateful. You might be interested to know that the .38 S&W and other revolver rounds were so ineffective against charging Filipino bolo-slashin', jungle ambushing, head hunters on drugs, that the US Army ended up adopting the .45 ACP as a direct result of CQB vs. my rice lovin', Escrima inventing, and generally hard working, funny lil Flip forefathers and Nama's. It would be especially gratifying to hear from a Green Beret about the progression of revolutionary conflict in the Philippines, particularly from vets as learned, articulate, and incisively analytical as the mind of Sensei Tu. I really don't think that situation gets enough press, and some front-line anecdotal history would be a treasured gift. Happy hunting and God bless.
I read the art of war very young and didn’t understand all of it. I must reread it and maybe now that I’m a little older with more life experience I hopefully will be able to grasp better understanding.
Mr Way2Good, I truly believe that you will get a lot more understanding out of it. Especially when you can insert your own life experiences into it and you question why certain things, whether they be good or bad, worked as well as they did, or look for key factors that were missing, resulting in something not working out so well. I see “The Art of War” as basically an AMAZING study of Human Nature, and NOT JUST a specific tactical guide on how to win a fight. If you learn how and why, people might think or act the way they do, you can start to see the way they will react to a certain action, and maybe see they’re next move before they do, in which case WILL DEFINITELY give you an advantage! If you can think openly, and hopefully see what they’re action or reaction will be, you CAN HOPEFULLY DIRECT THE ENTIRE SITUATION towards whatever favorable outcome that you prefer...... Basically in other words, yes you can use it to completely destroy your “enemy” mentally, emotionally, and physically........ OR, JUST AS IMPORTANTLY, you can use it towards avoiding the fight and conflict altogether, IF POSSIBLE... Meaning unless they are just truly evil or they have just plain bad goals or objectives, you can avoid an unnecessary conflict which might leave you with a valuable ally that you might need someday.... But anyways, these are just my thoughts, experiences and my simple beliefs that’s all. In my simple opinion, I don’t think that you can ever understand “all of it”. There’s just way too many lessons to be learned and way too many ways to interpret it. BUT, just like watching your ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE OVER AND OVER, you Will Always catch something that you missed before. Take care people.
erozpl01 Come on now.... That’s kinda like describing the “Super Bowl” as just a game, where you take turns with a ball and try and get it to the opposite side of a field. You can run with it or throw it to somebody else and make them run with it.... you get 4 chances to make progress or it’s the other guys turn. (Unless you legally steal it, then it’s your turn again) That’s basically the game
erozpl01 well actually yes I have read it. Yes it’s in fragments a bunch of the times, but you can apply those fragments to a lot of different lessons learned, and then apply them to a lesson that your about to teach someone else. I’m not saying that it’s a step by step guide to decimate someone, but words like these: “To Truly destroy your enemy, you should become his friend. Gain his trust and his love. Become part of his inner circle, his family...... Then,YOU CAN TRULY DESTROY HIM.....” I dont know about you, but just the thought alone, would scare the crap out of me.... Make me afraid to trust anyone and everyone... That right there will make you isolate yourself and make you TRULY FEEL ALONE. You WILL BE ALONE.... and Weak. Put it this way, have you ever had the love of your life, rip your heart out?? Why do ya think that hurt you so much?? Now apply that to someone that TRULY WANTS TO DESTROY YOU........ I think that applies more toward special operations and unconventional warfare, but it can be applied in anyway you can think of. The thing is...... you’ve gotta think. That was just one tiny “Fragment” of the lessons you will find in that book. But like I said, that’s just my small opinion, that’s all. It’s up to you to find the fragments that will help you in your occupation and circumstances. Just an idea, that’s all. 🇺🇸✌️👊🎱
Thank you Sir for good stuff as always. I am passionate about history and learned a lot of new facts here. That along with new principles and many principle that I have been taught but worded in a way that made me think, Or put differently with a new twist. You Opened my mind here in more ways than one. Something that resonate a lot with me is when Tom said : "The guys who really didn't wanted to be in the military but they wanted to serve... the free-thinkers, the entrepreneurs of the military, the problem-solvers." If there is anyone interested in the true shinobi, I recommend reading the BasenShukai and Shinoniki.
(Unless you legally steal it, then it’s your turn again)
That’s basically the game
erozpl01 well actually yes I have read it. Yes it’s in fragments a bunch of the times, but you can apply those fragments to a lot of different lessons learned, and then apply them to a lesson that your about to teach someone else. I’m not saying that it’s a step by step guide to decimate someone, but words like these:
“To Truly destroy your enemy, you should become his friend. Gain his trust and his love. Become part of his inner circle, his family......
Then,YOU CAN TRULY DESTROY HIM.....”
I dont know about you, but just the thought alone, would scare the crap out of me....
Billy bad ass club!! Legends of Unconventional Warfare.
That was a very cool and informational video! Thx so much
Thank you Sir for good stuff as always. I am passionate about history and learned a lot of new facts here. Thank you. ドラゴンスピリットはありがとう
19:43 best part of video. Would not want ronin as my enemy.
Tu Lam is the most legit Man around, I watched every video I can find of This Man. The same thing Always that I noticed is his Very Calm Demeanor, The Way He Sits (Straight Up) no Slouch at all, He also will not talk over anyone he will just sit and listen. I watch him on Valutainment those guy absolutely embarrassed themslfs buy interrupting Tu constantly, so instead of Tu trying to talk louder or get upset he just stopped Talking. I seen that as not a weak Man but a Man who can absolutely rip their Eye Balls Out.
Very good information and I didn't know that about Tu. Thanks for making an impact on the military/law enforcement community and people in general.
Well done lads...enjoyed it...
Dang good video...... studying Tzu is a good philosophy to incorporate into life as well 😎 .
Good stuff
I normally don't follow these kinds of guys.
I was whereing camouflaged and training with military guns all through the late 70s and all of the 80s.
In the gun community I was looked down on. Mercenaries where looked down on and I resembled 1 I was a gun fanat ext.
Now you can't buy gun magazine that doesn't have a military style gun on the cover.
Every shooter is now whereing military style clothing and wepons.
I'm 58 and can't really all this now.
I still prefer my fnfal though one of the best military guns ever made and dsa 16 inch are sweet.
I do enjoy this guys site and techniques.
The inspiration 💪🏼

Great video, excellent information, thank you kindly for sharing your knowledge
Something that resonate a lot with me is when Tom said : "The guys who really didn't wanted to be in the military but they wanted to serve... the free-thinkers, the entrepreneurs of the military, the problem-solvers." This is crazy because that's *exactly* how I feel my dream of joining the special forces! I'm stoked to finally have a way to explain it to people. Wow. Thank you so much for this amazing video. I think this really align me on my path.
Much respect ✊🏿
