  • The Milwaukee M12 Radio/Speaker/Charger model 2951-20 is an excellent update to the other M12 audio products. The M12 radio needed a serious update so that's about time, And this little unit will charge your device, charge the M12 batteries, and connect via bluetooth to your devices. However what's missing is the standard audio input jack. That's a serious oversight in my book. What wasn't overlooked were handing options. Plenty here and a much better grab-handle than the previous model.

    Had this radio for a couple days and I've been using it non-stop. Love it.

    I've had dozens of cordless radios,that m12 charger radio is the best one. Great sound small package long battery life and the Bluetooth is extraordinary

    I've been involved with audio since adolescence. Last year, I did a survey of Bluetooth speakers for a publication with an emphasis on sound quality. Auditioned speakers ranging from a $40 JBL Go3 to a $800 Vifa. Admittedly, I didn't listen to anything offered by a tool company. In my bigger shop, I run a pair of Harman Studio 6 BT speakers; a JBL Xtreme 2 in the other. Best sounding speakers I found, given a number of direct constraints - this is not an all around recommendation. Also thought that the Earfun Uboom, a $45 speaker with 18hr battery life, sounded significantly less offensive than its peers, even at double the price, and can fill a relatively large space with sound. It's fairly small and quite portable. Does well outdoors. Can be paired for stereo and the connection is stable.

    So would you recommend getting the m12 speaker or the m18 speaker, mostly want to use it for get together, garage and on the boat

      I have both. The m12 is WAY better. Much much smaller, lighter, sounds better to my ears, chargers your battery when plugged in, and still plenty loud. I do not like carrying around a huge radio.

    which is better the m12 you are showcasing or the m18 in the back???

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The one in the back is just a speaker. Great sound and runs on both M12 and M18 batteries. And has the aux input. Loud, clear, heavy.
      The M12 radio has a classic radio. I can often find radio on my phone and bluetooth it to a speaker. No aux input so either bluetooth or onboard radio. Smaller, Great sound. Possibly less durable with LCD screen. It also charges batteries if you have an AC connection which often defeats the battery purpose of this..
      So if you want volume and size is not an issue, then the big one. If you want radio and medium high sound, then the M12 is nice. But if you are not invested in the M12 system, this is not a big enough reason to jump in.

    The majority of power tool brand radio/speakers are average at best, for half of the cost of one of those you can buy a really good JBL or other decent/high quality speaker, and I’m not an “audiophile”

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a JBL as well as a Ultiamte Ears, and a couple Bose. But since I use them often when overlanding and camping, I want them to fit seamlessly into my battery system. Plus I am rarely using it in a sound positive environment so there is plenty of audio contamination. Even more, it mostly voice I listen to, not as much music anymore.

      As someone who has a JBL speaker and a audiophile person. I will say the battery life on these milwaukee speakers are far better depending on the size battery you use on them. With that said my JBL extreme 3 cost twice this and same yes it sounds better but for far more I had the older ones they sounds better but still costed more then these milwaukee speakers.
      Jbls do sound better with a worse battery life and the durability doesn't touch the milwaukee speakers period.
