This project will be auctioned off to raise money for the Birmingham Children's Hospital. I've seen a lot of resin riverbed tables and have always wanted to give it a try. So I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try it out. I use Walnut and Plywood to keep in with the other charity project themes. I hope you like it.

Amazing table! I love it. Thank you for explaining how things didn't work, but you kept at it, trying different approaches for a fantastic result. Too often, I feel that if I don't make it perfect the first time, I've failed.
Thanks! There is always something that doesnt go to plan. Working round them is a great way to learn. I always like to show my mistakes because some videos make it seem like everything is plane sailing when it really isnt haha
You amaze me with your work & dedication to the end results of quality & purpose. And the reason behind it makes you my hero.

Gee this is one of your finest efforts. So many different skills involved. I could imagine myself getting down hearted with that finish originally not working so well done for your persistence. The end result is a treasure. I hope charity get a lot for it.
Thanks mate! I was getting down with the finish but knowing what it was for I had to keep going until it was right. Im glad I was able to get it sorted in the end haha

Mike
Thanks Mike! I got there in the end haha
Joe, Holy crap mate! That is stunning!!!
Thanks Mark! It gave me some trouble but I got there eventually haha
Good job! I like how you showed us all of the mistakes you made along the way. I have made lots of tables with resin and made lots of mistakes along the way. There are epoxies that allow you to pour them in much larger quantities. To dissipate the heat you have fans blowing onto your pour while it is curing.
Thanks William! I think mistakes are the best way we learn haha I hope that I can help others skip the mistakes I make lol I struggled with what epoxy to buy. Its a real mind field at times haha I do really like this water simulating stuff. Its self degassing so didnt have to worry about bubbles lol
Quality job once again Joseph, the table looks amazing.
Thanks mate! I really appreciate it :)

Thanks Dave! I had a nightmare with parts of the project but Im glad it turned out ok in the end haha
Fantastic job looks so great starting my project tomorrow I am using 3/4 " Cypress tongue and grove I cut off the ends for a flush fit using 4 boards then using a jig saw cut out a lake type shape then Dremel tool to cut canals that meet the v groves look like streams stain and finish glad you mentioned the finish I bought some satin urethane will return for gloss thank you.
Thanks Bob! Really glad you liked it! Love the sound of yours! Especially creating the streams with the v bit 👌 glad my mistake of using the satin polyurethane helped haha should save other a lot of time sanding 😂
Well my first project was a disaster I was using cypress it ruined my carving bits since the wood is so hard but made it through ok then the nightmare began forgot to put on gloves mixed dye did the pour the bottom was not sealed good I used foil tape and plastic table cloth applied spray wax which did prevent leaks from sticking over all even though it was a disaster I learned a lot first I tried to rush a project due to a craft show big mistake the wood needs to be at least 1 1/4 inch so will do another project and will use your type of legs will stay in touch thanks

Great job. It is good to show mistakes and solutions for viewers. Too many times they are edited out and leave people stuck looking for answers.
Thanks George! I like to show my mistakes and hopefully show how I over come them. Like you say its easy to make it look like everything goes perfect first time. It never does though haha Im just an Average Joe at the end of the day 👍
