    Never thought about how often most people say UM. So important for public speaking

    Great video! I can definitely relate to how much harder it is to speak to camera than public speaking 🤣 Was definitely a surprise when I started making TH-cam videos.

    Good advice! Keep practicing to build confidence, and really know your content. Knowing what you're talking about means less thinking time to make stuff up. Equals less ummms.

    Pauses are fine. Now many editing software programs have silence detection which allows pauses to be quickly removed. It's still necessary to hide the cuts with transitions of B-roll but that is relatively easy.

    As a German speaker, I always say "genau" what means "right". It really annoys me. Thank you Thomas for the advice! Greetings from Austria

    It's the same when people use the word "like" ALL the time nowadays. Soooooo annoying and makes it hard to figure out what they're actually trying to say

    I find a lot of people that say umm a lot, lie ...and use umm to give them some time to make something up, I'm sorry just saying
