  • Welcome to my channel! In this new storytime format I open up about a panic attack I experienced while vacationing in San Fransisco. Sounds relaxing right?
As someone who battles a chronic illness daily, anxiety has become an all-too-familiar feeling in my life. I believe it's important to normalize conversations around mental health within the chronic illness community, as I know I am not alone in this.

My name is Samantha Boothe and I have been creating advocacy videos on TH-cam since 2009. This channel was formerly known as Live Hope Lupus and was created in order to start a community for those living with chronic illnesses. In September 2019, I transitioned to a plant-based diet and I have found my body is responding well to it. Along with my lifestyle change, I am learning to alter my focus more on the positive. My current content will focus on my healing journey, what food I am eating, and everyday life. I will still be posting an occasional update about my health. I hope you all are ready to join me on this crazy journey of healing. We are all learning how to navigate this life together. If you have subscribed, thank you! I appreciate your support and look forward to talking with you all in the comments.

I am glad you are fine! Anxiety and panic attacks are so hard. Lupus is a crazy rollercoaster that also affects our mental health. What really helped me overcome those attacks were prayer and just asking God to help me not fear.

I've recently come to terms with the fact that I have a chronic disease. Last month I had my first panic attack surrounding my disease right before traveling to California. Thank you so much for creating your videos and being so open. It really helped me realize I'm not alone in this:)

I completely get it. It has been years since I have had one. But usually they happened when I was very tired in a stressful environment, traveling for me. I love traveling but airports and flying can be very stressful.
    Looking great!

Sorry to hear that. Definitely look at medication as a cause of this. If you stopped or started a new one.

I meditate and if you practice daily it just amazing. I like to listen to Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. He used to have panic attacks too. I learned to be comfortable feeling uncomfortable and not fight the panic and just be aware of my breath. As the ti e weeks pass you get more relaxed when a panic comes and you learn your symptoms that are scary but harmless.

I’ve had them where my trunk area goes all tingly. Sometimes my hands only. One bad time I was working and like froze and couldn’t remember what to do next even though I do the same thing everyday( deliver mail) and I had to talk myself out of it. That was rough. With me a lack of sleep of being overly tired may play a part. Just a guess though.

I eat plant-based and in the beginning, if I do not have enough and if I did not have enough plant-based fats, I think that is when I may have had panic attacks.

I know this may sound dumb but have you had labs done to see if your deficient in 1 or more vitamins and minerals. For me it was Magnesium oxide. I hope your are feeling better

My daughter had a panic attack this morning. Maybe it is a premonition of something bad? WWIIII?

I hope not but I do agree sometimes it’s a sign of something deeper from within.

Omg don't starve yourself! Eat some starch, partner had a very weak moment, she trying to do work and she started to get scared, and needed to sit down, then fount out she hadent eaten anything all day and it's now getting close to dinner time
Intermittent fasting is good and well.
But know your limits and plan around them.
Also the starches converts to glucose, and the brain NEEDS GLUCOSE! to function.
Starving the brain can have all sorts of terable side effects 😳
From schizophrenia, psychosis, I'll just pull around evil nasty dark thoughts, humming thoughts about harming yourself or others, depression, brain fog etc. Things like that can be very scary
So eat your whole foods starches, and trough the oils in the bin, that crap will give you cancer and Anoxia, inflammation, plaques etc... Really nasty stuff!
    Save-a-life tomorrow...
Do the No Oils, Starchivore Vegan Lifestyle today. 💕 😘
I'm pretty sure your already vegan Samantha, but if your still using oils, thats simply poison for our bodies.
    Good luck, 😘

Wonder if guys get panic attacks? I never had one but I never get scared or have any type of anxiety. Not bragging or want to sound so tough but I think it's mostly women that get these. My wife does, so does my mom and sister. Wife has it really bad as she has OCD and anything sets it off. I think it's the constant worrying about things that seem silly to us man. Traveling is always tense for my wife where I'm totally chill, don't care about anything while my wife triple checks everything.
