Semplicemente eccezionale!
Thank you dear Val, for this divine pleasure.
Hugs, Karin
Danke!!!
Do you ask me what I'm thinking? .... or Schubert's music is unique (D784) mystique, mythical, and above all very special, as unfathomable as the human spirit.
ja, onpeilbaar en ondoorgrondelijk maar eindeloos boeiend
I agee with you - beauty beyond words. The music takes ot of our daily lvies to another dimension, not without some lighter Viennese moments that a re beautifully integrated.. Sxhibert was my first great love in music aged 13.
Schuberrt has a clear musical foutain in his mind I thimk.
17 in D major was worth the wait in this. All sonatas flawlessly executed, but my interest flagged in the A minor. Schubert could be boring I discovered. Pity. I like him so much. Oh well. Thanks everyone. cathy
Magistral interpretación de Schiff
+Giovanni Ciafre Exquisita... Ema Knoch ...

@Zayn Niko It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my account!
schiff is very Schubert.(in my conception of schubert)
yes, true, they are both very Viennese...
the con moto in the sonata no. 17 is really fantastic
Based on Beethoven's fifth symphony, i.e. of the same tempo.
Of all pieces not to be rhythmically micro-slack in (Schiff's chief weakness), D784 is at the top, with that slowly rocking first movement.
could you explain that? just curious

sorry and sure
my take is the opening calls for zero rubato nor wee speedup nor even any mini-mini-pauses, but should be the rock-steadiness of death
listen to brendel or almost as good plewis, both of whom are a touch too slow but much more powerful as to inevitability of forward motion
I always sense that schiff needs to do metronome work, or perhaps dance to motown or ellington more (the latter is something almost all classical performers need to do)
@@davidmoran5431 your comment is great, i see what you mean

! Just got rid of this set. Give me Brendel or Kempff any day over this dull playing...
Schiff is well up his own ass, too.
I too cannot find what others seem to appreciate in this playing.
Not sure about the playing, but the piano doesn't sound so good to me. A bit too soft and swimming in reverberation. it's as though recorded at long range in a church. I find this a bit ironic having recently hear Shiff complain about a student not playing "clean". No matter how clean Shiff plays, the sound here is soft and rounded, and the result is hardly insicive. I wonder what kind of piano he is playing. Could be a Bossendorfer. At first I wondered whither it was an old piano; it sounds a bit beefy for a fortepiano.
