Listening to "why I cry" I could not hold my tears back welling up, they kept rolling down. After all you went through as a young girl is heartbreakin. While jotting this down am still in tears imaging of your hurt and pain that you are in, despite of all you have stood up against all odds, yes, ...... the hurt of heart and soul is most painful, you are a strong honourable lady
The last video you shared, i just wanted to say you are a strong person, i believe you have indomitable spirit! Thank you for all you have been sharing with us❤
Hi Nicole, I have just discovered your video channel and I just wanted to say how brave and strong you are. You remind me so much of my daughter and her inner strength and determination against people who have tried to knock her down and has risen above it all to be more successful than them all. As a child I was bullied and had no support from my mother and today I still resent her for that. I see you as an amazing person who is following her dreams and doing things I could only dream of doing. I see and feel your pain and I hope one day soon it will fade. I got through it all by setting goals and I got to the other side. You have a lot of fans who want to support you. Dont be afraid to ask for help or chat or advice when you need it. Good luck, be brave, have some fun and I am looking forward to watching the rest of your channel. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺.
Today I started watching your channels from the beginning to number 30 and I have fallen in love with you. I think you are great lady a beautiful lady just the way you are thank you for coming into my life.
Hi I just listened to that last video very sad to hear but you are beautiful young woman think it’s Girl power now and the new boat will be great I’m enjoying watching your videos keep it up and now more crying Nicole x🇬🇧keep safe x
There’s nothing you can’t do is there Nicole 🙏 I also wanted to tell you that the body has the incredible ability to heal itself hun. I had a part of my body become completely numb after a surgery and was never supposed to recover but several years afterwards the nerves found a way to reconnect and is completely healed so, have faith in the ability of your own body to heal itself. All of us who follow your journey love you very much ❤️
Delighted to see you back in action and making progress with your sails. You must have taken your sailing very seriously to have the confidence to do what you do and I admire you for it.
You are brave, you are beautiful, you are inspiring! Never give up, please seek help, you would be missed if you were gone. I just saw your season one episode 30. I realize that was about a year ago. I first saw you with adventure man Dan and the interview in the boat yard in DR. You seem to have come a long way. Thank you for sharing your story, I hope it was cathartic. What I have learned about PTSD from a personal as well as professional point of view is you can recover, although you never forget, you somehow manage to integrate the story so you can move on. Your body image is important, as it is to us all, especially when you are challenged at such a critical time in your development. I am sorry you have so much pain and hope you start to heal. I am confident you will find that right person…astral you are going to sail around the world! I met my wife…my better 2/3 at 34. We have 3 children. I never thought I would find her. Keep the faith and when you least expect you may find that special person too. I hope so because you seem very nice and are very resilient, even if you don’t know it yet. I wish you the best of luck finishing and finally getting to sail Artha. May she be half as beautiful as her captain and half as strong…she will endure any storm and see you safe to friendly shores! May you have fair winds and following seas and may all your adventures be fun and enriching.
So much fun stowing sails. They're like trying to wrestle a stiff octopus. I remember the days of re-bagging spinnakers between legs. Of course, that was ancient history in the days of sheets, halyards, topping lifts and down hauls. Putting them up only to get an hourglass. And yes, I've had my share of spinnaker knockdowns. Perhaps when you are done for the day you can bottle up a little of that energy and send it my way. At my age I can use all I can get. Proud of you sweetie. You're doing a great job.
Nicole it’s good to see you back to working on the yacht, it helps when you have something to occupy yourself, your video last week was extremely sad & lm sorry that your relationship with your mother is difficult & you were clearly very upset, you did the right thing though, you spoke to a complete stranger poured your heart out & had a damn good cry, l admired you for it & l hope it helped you. Keep these updates coming you clearly know what you are doing & what a beautiful part of the world you have found to do it, bless your heart.
Thanks again Nicole, for letting me share your life on board Artha ! When I see you struggling to do something on board, I feel like I just want to climb aboard Artha and HELP you ! .... Hello Nicole My name is Marcelo, I live in Brazil. This morning after arriving from work I found your TH-cam Channel. I was impressed by his courage and determination. I marathoned all your videos, and with each video I learned a new lesson. You are an incredible woman... I'm 55 years old and since I was a child I've dreamed of traveling around the world on a sailboat. I've been working since I was 12 years old, I started a family, I raised my children, but I never managed to leave Brazil. But as the world takes many turns at the beginning of 2020, I separated from my ex-wife because we didn't share the same dreams and at the end of that same year I met an incredible person and my life changed. She supports me in everything and we have had many adventures together, and last year we participated in an international contest on TH-cam and won a 42-foot sailboat that is there in Panama.Always remember that Our God is bigger than our problems.
Nicole, you may want to reach out to some of the sail manufacturers to supply your replacement with your Logo and Verbiage. They are really great at sponsoring and supplying product if your willing to plug them! Keep up the great work, luv what your doing!
I will buy the boat next to you just to watch you work. Absolutely beautiful. Your not sweating, your glistening❤. If you ever need to talk, please reach out. You are a amazing person
Thank you for taking the time to teach us about the different types of sails and what they are meant for. Also, I actually like the voiceover, because you can take your time and speak with a clear voice not having to compete with the wind noise that the mic picks up. Keep up the good work.

Such an awesome boat. I've never seen a headsail furler like that; seems like it would be very handy to be able to drop the sail if the furler ever failed. I bought a cutter for many of the reasons you stated; one other benefit is the staysail helps you to point higher into the wind. Keep up the good work!

Okay, thank you. I did some research on quotes with a few companies. A hank-on stay, roller Yankee jib (I am replacing the furler), and a full-batten main with 3 reefs made of Tanbark are about 5-7k USD. I adjusted my quote to include a tri-sail and am waiting to hear back. I am also entertaining the idea of sewing my own set of sails if I can get a good deal on materials (I have a bit of sewing experience), but so far the loft quotes are better than material quotes. Taking all into consideration though, 5-7k is a good ballpark range, and I just dug myself a nice little hole of $3k getting new cables and wedges for the Norseman’s I already have on board, and a roller-reefing furler for the head sail (rigging stuff). I also just bought all the epoxy, barriercoat and copper coat for fixing the hull and waiting on that to arrive hopefully next week. I would be so grateful for a donation of any amount :) right now the best way to donate is through PayPal or Zelle. I’m glad you’re enjoying Sailing Artha.
Small correction these boats are named for the pilot boats that sailed out of the Bristol Channel England, not the English Channel that separates England from France.

Combining speaking seriously about suicidal thoughts and urges on camera and posting it with the comments turned off? Why? Do you not want to hear anyone encourage you to seek a therapist or doctor? To be young and beautiful and capable enough to be a solo sailor with a TH-cam channel running means that your thoughts of self harm need to be addressed. I don't know when you filmed that compared to posting it, but I hope that you pursue real help so that you can regain the knowledge of your blessings so that you can truly enjoy the your unique journey of your life.
@@SailingArtha you're correct that I didn't watch the whole video before being concerned enough about your safety to write to you. The whole video I can watch later. What I heard you saying about your thoughts and plans was troubling and didn't need more layers before wanting to encourage you to seek legitimate advice. I view you as a real person with a real need to talk to someone who can help you be safe and regain the perspective of how good you are and that life is a journey worth living.
@charlieleahey1516 this is the reason I have comments disabled - to avoid crosstalk from those who don’t watch the whole video. It’s healing to myself and to others to share my story with others. If you’re not familiar with some spiritual programs of recovery, I encourage you to look into them; you’ll discover that sharing is not only a product, but also a tool or requirement of said “legitimate advice.”
I read your poem. Have you seen the movie "My First Mister"? A young Goth woman is poetically inclined to cutting and suffering but randomly meets an older man with his own quiet and unexamined suffering. Over time, both of them get to grow and change their perspectives. The problem with suicide is that it robs you of the over time part of life. Your perspective and knowledge will change for the better the longer you live. You just don't know or believe in that yet. I work on ferries. Occasionally, desperate people jump off, seeking the end. Invariably, most every person upon rescue describes regretting the choice either as soon as they jump or once they hit that cold, unforgiving water. Suicide is the ultimate antichoice because, if you succeed, that's it. No more choices nor story. It is an illusion that it provides any relief. Talking to a therapist about this issue is not a mistake nor in opposition to expansive metaphysical thinking and spirituality. Choosing to defend your own existence by regaining a hopeful and loving view of yourself as a person in this world is a worthy journey to expand upon. You sound like a thinker with an expansive mind and a desire to explore. Making a choice to talk about your struggles with someone else that can truly help would make you possibility feel things you haven't felt in a long time. Good things.
I don't know if you can see my email address but I'd like to pitch you some ideas so that you can keep your numbers up. You are doing good but get more positive about yourself.

Good. Job. That boats well worth the effort.
I don’t think you watched the length of my video before posting this :)
I do appreciate your concern but at the very least, read the poem in the description.
Are you heading to Puerto Rico by any chance?
Not sure yet about my sailing plans
Thanks!
