Thanks so much for the great video! Ours is a 2012 26M we bought new in the fall of ‘12. We’ve added a natures head compositing toilet along with similar mods to yours.Sadly it’s now up for sale
Bon travail, tu as été très imaginatif pour maximiser l'espace. C'est probablement le meilleur ⛵ pour le baskatong. Je songeait au même ou au 26X pour le réservoir taureau.
Thank you very much for sharing your upgrades! They are really well done and I like them a lot! Can you please share the following info: 1. The raymarine equipment 2. The Captain Morgan box where did you order it 3. The solar panel tubes and supporting devices! I am following you on youtube and I really encourage you to continue posting videos with related trips/upgrades! Thank you! Daniel
Thanks. I appreciate your kind comment. 😎 The solar tubes and hardware were bought at my local chandlery. Standard 7/8 in SS tubes and fittings. I had previously beefed up the solar panel alum. Flimsy frame with 1 in square alum tubing for strength. For the box I had it custom designed and 3D printed to fit the instruments. Worked out great and was able to get my Capt. Morgan autohelm name on it this way. Was a fraction of the cost of a marine Pod. For the Raymarine, I installed the EV-100 package ca.binnacle.com/product_info.php?products_id=9812&gad=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI05eBxvaUggMVTM7ICh2KLwEwEAQYASABEgJRzvD_BwE. Thanks, this video is awesome. Would it be possible to be directed to the 3D printer of the Captain Morgan box. I would love to order the Captain Ray equivalent. This is exactly what i have been looking for. Thanks DJ.
@@Darrenj195 thanks mate. I appreciate your comments. The Captain Morgan instrument Pod is a custom design I had done by a 3D CAD tech, and I had it 3D printed with UV resistant polymer. PS. Who’s Capt Ray? 😎
Excellent video. It’s so helpful to see ideas on the same model. Could you say more about your stern anchor setup? Where do you store your anchor and rode? And what size/length have you found works? I’m thinking about moving my danforth to the stern and buying a Bruce for the bow roller. I find anchor shopping overwhelming. While I’m on the topic, would you get the Bruce again?
Hello. Thanks for your comment. The Bruce claw works well for the bottom type at the lake I usually sail. I’m sure other more $ anchors like Rocna or others would hold even better with less weight. The stern light weight fluke is good for that purpose. I store it in a white vertical PVC tube on my stern solar post, and I only have 8 ft chain and 100 ft rode also stored there. I often tie the stern ashore and anchor the bow fwd. cheers mate.
The 26M dry weight is 2550 lbs, the engine is about 420 lbs. then 70 litre of gaz is about 115 lbs. I’m sure the rest of the boat content could add up to 600-800 lbs. then the 100l fresh water weight 220 lbs. but I don’t trailer it with water on board. I fill it once at dock. So I figure I tow about 4000 lbs boat plus the trailer weight. Let’s say 4500 lbs to tow. 👍🏻
Great video! Thank you very much! I didn't see a backstay on your boat. I'm assuming if you put a spinnaker you may need a backstay to ensure the mast won't fall forward. Am I right? I saw pictures of 26x having backstays.
Thanks. Actually the 26X has a back stay and the 26M doesn’t. The mast stays up with the fractional rigging and swept back spreaders and standing rigging. But it’s more prudent to have the main up with the spi to counterbalances forces.
Well done, merci! Could you share the make/model of the electrical switch/fuse panel you have? Where do you order your stainless mounting hardware (antenna mount, solar-panel stabilizers, etc.)? If I may suggest, for your solar panel: make sure there is no "hard" shade on any of the cells. They are usually wired in three strings with bypass diodes. If shade from the flag placed too close creates a hard-lined shade on the panel, it will almost fully shut down 1/3 of your panel (have a look on your MPPT). So just move the flag a bit higher, and make sure there are no other poles, antenna, etc. creating a hard shade line on the panel. Diffuse shade is not good, but not as bad.
Thanks for the solar tips. You are 100% correct. I know i lose a bit of solar input but since I have sufficient power I don’t worry about it. I did wrap the flag on its pole a few times to avoid shade. Cheers
The SS hardware came from Chandlery and other local marine stores. I took the fuse switch on Amazon. Thanks. That’s hard to say. A lots of small ticket items are over $100 each so it adds up. But for large ticket items like autohelm, lithium, solar, fridge, electronics, sails, etc. I would say at least $12-14k. CAD. 🇨🇦
Very informative videos. Maybe you could help me. I just bought a 26 m and can not figure out how to run the rudder lines to keep them down securely when sailing. Thank you
@@user-pr3sj6vs4b thanks. Is your rudder line installed? If properly installed you just pull the opposite way and tie it to the same cleat to lock them down. (Pull the line that goes down the small hole in the stern top). It goes down the tube and attaches to the back of the rudder.
I put a drain plug under the back bed because water would collect there a lot during a big rain. Anyway I forgot to close it after driving from Memphis TN to Pensacola Fl and putting it in the ocean there. That was a big mistake, water went everywhere and it ruin my week Florida vacation.
