After like 2 months of learning I have my Ollie’s down pretty well!! I have a tip for you to give beginners. PRACTICE ON A BED or something that has some natural bounce, hard surfaces are really hard to start out on. Also the leg roll trick really helps. Would’ve helped to have all in one video would’ve had it done in days lol.
I love that i’ve found ollieing on a fingerboard harder than ollieing a skateboard, but treflipping a fingerboard definitely easier than treflipping a skateboard 😂
BRO! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS TO EXPLAIN THIS BACK IN THE DAY TO MY BUDDIES! 😅😅 THIS VIDEO AND SLOW MO FOOTAGE IS THE BEST WAY TO EXPLAIN IT!!! 🤣🤣 #BRRR!!!💪💪
i learned how to ollie after playing around with fingerboards on and off for 10 years just from one tip from this video i never got anywhere else... slide both fingers not just ur pointer. you made my entire decade thank you so much
I just landed my first clean one.im 50 years old loved skateboarding but can't any more.we made our own in the 80s with tongue depressors and match box car wheels and axels.couldnt do anything but we tried.im also a chef and this is helping my hand arthritis by working it.hard though.
I just broke my arm from skateboarding but I literally cannot resist skateboarding so I just bought myself a real fingerboard and I’m gonna try to fingerboard for like a month😂
I struggled alot with ollies, you def have to put the time in, heres how it went: Rule 1) dont use a tech dech. Get a cheap board like LC boards or P-rep as itll make things 30 times easier. Don't put both fingers on the board at first, just hover the front one over the top and push the back of the board down with your rear finger, try and make it stand on end and then do a scooping forward motion, try and save the board from going fully over backwards with your front finger. Eventually youll be able to scoop it up and over until its upside down on your fingers then you can try it with both fingers on the board. Also to do a rolling ollie roll slowly, little to no speed is better. Dont roll back and then ollie thats bad habitsiz.
I was wondering if your fingers are supposed to stay on the deck or glide off a little. Also i was having a lot of trouble getting the pop right so if you could do an in depth tutorial for that it would be greatly appreciated
For anyone who is wondering why it doesn’t work for them the you need to get both wheels off the ground. I’m struggling getting my back wheels up though
Mine sometimes looks like a rocket Ollie and my foam grip doesn’t grab my finger enough to really guide the deck. So frustrating. Lately I’m also doing more kickflip rotations when trying to ollie onto a book. Any ideas?
You could try doing it off a ledge and getting a little bit more of the motion, or you could go to a pillow or your couch and just not roll and do an ollie on the couch so you get some bounce and learn the motion of an ollie
Hey grip, I used your tutorial when I started fingerboarding and learned the ollie and kickflip. I love the detail you give and other tips, and was wondering if you could make a nollie tutorial? I can nollie, but only 10% of the time. Thanks!
I haven't touched my fingerboard in a while... I have foam grip and the tape thing helped a lot... My favorite tip was practicing the power needed to get the nose wheels in the air and the tail down
Okay im not going to give you all the credit of my ollie but you definitely get some of the credit was training pretty hard for weeks but just today I got it your techniques definitely helped thank you🎉
Jacob, 24 I got new decks for Christmas courtesy of my little brother, and I'd like to get back into it because I used to play with them at a casual level in my childhood. I also skate a little bit in real life and know that most techniques between the different sized boards if not all of them differ in a lot of ways, yet my fingers still match my feet 😅 any tips that will help work on my switch-up so to speak?
I will try and reply to as many comments as I can if you are having trouble learning!
thats so cap u won't respond to me
I just can't get the board to jump for some reason. Any tips for that? (ps. my board is a tech deck with foam grip tape)
