Very useful thank you - it worked exactly as described. It was easy and quick to disassemble but the sunroof was very stuck and stiff so - I removed the motor and two of us were able to push the sun roof closed to where it started to dip down. Then I refitted the motor and finished closing it with Allen key as described - but I guess the motor could have closed it at that point. I am curious why it sticks half way though as this seems a common complaint. Thank you

We have that eDrive with the grinding sound - new eDrive is on the way, but do we need to change something else, or do we need to adjust something in order to have all cables work symmetric?!? What I tried to do with your video is to try to open it manually and close it manually to see if it come back to the normal and to be able to close my windows. Is there any mechanical connection between sunroof and A pillar latch. I manually lifted the C Segment rear glass to check after a roof error message. But couldn't detach from A pillar. This was with out fully opening the Sunroof. Is there any lock between sunroof and A pillar latch. Usually it has to open with C segment liflting. Pase advise. Also help me with how to open a locked trunk. Tried manual pull from rear seat. No way

@@hajnib3035 understood, we would recommend to get it booked in with someone who has experience with an EOS to rectify the sunroof issue. Operating it manually is only for opening it in event of a failure and overrides all safety interlocks

Compare a Honda to an EOS. Honda owners with sunroof knows how easy this is in comparison. When your sunroof stops operating VW EOS = So much tools required to actually close it with practicality and Torx bits are also not common. So much to remove to get to the motor and to use a wrench. Also heavy = You will be Wet and at mercy of Theft. Honda Accord = Literally one allen key is all that is needed supplied by Honda in the tool pouch. Small hole access panel to the sunroof motor (nothing to remove) and super easy to close. 5 min job
I'm reaching out hoping someone can help. I removed my headliner to adress a rattle coming from around the sunroof motor area. I assumed the screws worked themselves loose. Come to find someone replaced the motor and didn't re install the center screw, does anyone know what size and pitch that screw is?? So I can replace it
@@CabrioletTech it makes a grinding noise and the top won't move even after taking the plastic lining off like you did. I tried to manually open by using your technique and it just clicks and doesn't move. Maybe it's jammed shut I have never cleaned the track. Idk what it is and once I fix it it will never happen again

I went and pulled the headliner, then I was able to move the sunroof back but the cables would lock up. I was able to bring it back closed but it's not fully seated closed. I was thinking do the mechanisms in the rear remove and can the cables slide out that way? I honestly think that I have to relieve the pressure on the hydraulic pump, figure out how to manually open the roof slightly without making anything off kilter, support the roof with wood, and pull the cables from the front of the roof. Is there a number I can call or what is the proper procedure to contact you? I really appreciate your help. 2008 VW EOS

Assume you're referring to the plastic trim, actually it does have a hole in it but it's a lot easier just to remove it

Your issue is not the sunroof, it is the vehicle roof

It's the plastic cog inside the sunroof motor that needs replacing with a brass 1 as the teeth have shredded on the plastic cog
