Seems like it would have been good to have a sharpie on one front tire and the other brand on the other front. With Sharpie on back both sides, it's going to get less brake dust and heat, which may have effected results
Yeah because, for all we know, it could be a front wheel drive vehicle or you'd taken the car through some twisties which predominately bear to one side more than another
The best ones I have found are the Milwaukie pens. It will also last a lot longer if you flame treat the tyres first and spray them with adhesion pro motor or plastic primer before painting.
I’m currently using the sharpie on all terrain tires , it holds up pretty good with dirt and all , When I take it to a auto car wash it does come off some , so I stopped doing that and I do have to reapply about every 3 months
After cleaning the tires I used sharpie oil base paint on the letters after about 30 minutes I sprayed Turtle wax Graphene hybrid max wax spray over the tire paint to protect the sharpie pen paint Can I at a later time re-apply sharpie oil base paint over the Turtle wax graphene sprayed tires
Thanks for this vid. Been trying to decide if/how I want to try painting my tire letters. You aren't the only one to recommend the Sharpie pens. Also good to know the tire wet products didn't affect the paint too much.
Does the paint run if applied with the tires mounted on the vehicle? How many coats did you apply? How long did you allow to dry per coat? Did you use a jet/power stream on the tires and letters when washing your vehicle?
How did you get the letters looking so good? I did this one some goodyear tyres except the writing has groves in it and is slightly depressed into the tyre. I found while doing it I was using a medium point sharpie and it was going over the edge and now looks all wonky and horrible. I was going to remove it using rubbing alcohol or acentone and start again but before I do that, any tips for making it look sharp and clean edges?
I took my tires off my car and used a tiny paintbrush and cut open the sharpie paint pen and used the paint from it. Tiny paint brush instead of tip of sharpie paint pen worked way better for me. Makes me wish I had used flex seal like you suggested because I’m sure the sharpie paint will crack.

After trying several others I've stuck to Sharpie oil based paint pens for tires
Acetone? Simple nail polish remover to clean off the letters?
Thanks. Good to know. Plus saves me money I'll go with the sharpie
Good video, is there a video of applying the paint?
No

@@keneflucas937 i did it laying down but if you’re careful and keep pen dryer should be fine. One coat. Took it to a car wash.
@@Mr95Kenny Word. Good lookn out...
Thanks for doing that. However, remember the back tyres didn't turn so, unfair test. Like I said, still awesome that you did this. Cheers.
Good stuff. Really appreciate the video . Fwd, detailed, and direct
