Metallica stuff is all rare. Megaforce label. Garage days original is out of print same as creeping death single. Awesome score. They released Metallica on Electra records and again on blackened records as remastered. You found the originals.
LOL Tim, Porky's is one of my favorites! I bet I watched that a hundred times as a kid. LOL "Oh Pooorkeee, the boys from Angel Beeeeach are heeerree!!" LOL
I traded a White Zombie tape for a first “press” copy of Iron Maiden’s killers about a month ago, doesn’t sound amazing because it’s been played a lot but, I love Iron Maiden so I just had to have it. My best tapes have mainly been purchased from overseas. shipping sucks & tapes from Poland get stuck in Warsaw for awhile:( It’s kinda rough to be a tape collector in the US if you don’t just want the typical Sabbath or something common.
Love this video billy! Recently been gettin more into cassettes after i just picked up a good bunch. Those misfits and danzig stuff are sweet, total wants!
What an amazing haul Billy! I love the nostalgia of cassette tapes! Asphyx, Anthrax, SOD, Death, Death Angel, Entombed, Exodus.......I’m gonna have to go now, I can’t take it anymore mate!! Loved watching what was coming next!! Take care brother!🤘🏻
Hey there Billy, Wow, it had to have taken a little time to go through 2000 cassettes. Kicking back and seeing which ones are being added to your collection. Was it all metal & rock? No country or jazz at all? Good to see you on this holiday~ Rob/Boston
Rob, thanks for tuning in brother. All in all, I was at his house a couple of hours and that included negotiation and bullshitting time. He had his cassettes stored in pull out cases alphabetically, so it was simple to go through them. It was not all rock and metal. He had a killer 80's and 90's country collection as well. I didn't get any of those for a couple of reasons. First, because I wasn't sure what I had already, and secondly, I knew they weren't going anywhere, so I'll likely end up with them when it's all said and done.
It's my least favorite album format...but daaaang! Hauls like this make me want to reinvest in a proper dual cassette deck and just start collecting these babies again.
I would say cassettes were my least favorite format, but being a grumpy old man, I'd have to say digital downloads are my least favorite. Just simply because there's nothing physical. No sense of ownership. Nothing to physically hold in your hands and look at or lyrics/credits to read while you're listening. Growing up with cassettes, they have a special place with me, even if they are in all likelihood, the least appealing, at least sound-wise, of all the formats.
Wow dude! Insane ! Brings me back to the earlier days of high school and cruising in my friends olds convertible blasting a lot of what you showed. Out of curiousity which tape has the most value ?
Digy, glad this took you down memory lane. LOL The tapes with the most value would be the Morpheus Descends "Ritual of Infinity" and the Dr. Dre "The Chronic". Talk about two far ends of the spectrum! LOL
You scored and then that'll metal you never heard of suffocation the old school death metal New York and Primus it's one of the guys from possessed I think it's Larry Primus is totally different than possessed
Hey Fraser, I had never heard of Suffocation, but will give it a listen soon. I am familiar with Primus though. Great stuff. Wasn't that Les Claypool though?
Some good shit there!!🤘💀🤘
i love this collection. thanks for sharing it bro
What a collection. I don’t buy tapes but boy I was admiring all that sensational loot!!!
Thanks for stopping by Craig!
I use cassette tape with equlizer. I like this sound more than a digital music file. But It's so difficult to buy cassette tape on s. korea currently.
Cool collection I love this video

Finding these metal cassettes just doesn't happen much nowadays. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for tuning in.
Very cool.. I have some of those my self. If you haven't looked it up, Carnivore was the pre-Type O Negative band for Peter Steel.
Eric, thanks for the heads-up on Carnivore. I'll definitely be checking out all of the stuff I am not familiar with real soon.
Carnivore is so good!!!! RIP Peter

Awesome, I'm stunned and I don't even collect cassettes! Never mind the Andy Borders shout outs, I appreciated my own at 21:26 ;)
"Cloudy" case....LOL Thanks for tuning in, Andy. Andy B did have a ton of shout outs, didn't he??!!
BillyHurst super cloudy, no less... We all know Andy's your favorite, poor Farley's just going to have to suck it up.
I have several of the cassettes you have. Are you interested in buying any cassettes?
We are always buying metal, hip hop and 90’s grunge and alternative cassettes.
Holy crap! Only you, Billy. You lucky dog.
Thanks for tuning in brother Farley. Sometimes the sun shines on a dog's ass! LOL
Dr. Dre, NIN, Suicidal Tendencies are awesome finds. Well done.
Thanks for tuning in, Adam. Killer stuff here, for sure.
