When TKR wins B1G poty this year as well as next year-only then will we all appreciate just how special Braden Smith was. Everyone spent the offseason saying Edey made Smith but did we ever stop to consider how much better Smith may have made Edey? Basketball fans who actually watch the kid ball know Braden is special. All time Boilermaker and all time player when it’s all said and done.
Eliminate all games against weak competition, derive the stats against the competition and figure out the first team. TKR belongs on the November 1st team along with Smith (and Harper)
When the league balloons to 18 teams and some of these stats are from playing cupcake teams, what do you expect? It's not clearly representative so why go through the exercise at this point in time?
If this is an attempt to dunk on them for having Braden as pre-season B1G POY it’s a very lame attempt. Literally all the things the Braden skeptics said have been wrong. “He won’t have any many assists without Edey.” Actually he’s averaging more assists and fewer turnovers per game this season. He leads the country in assist rate. At the end of the day, someone from one of the top 4 teams is winning Big Ten POY. I’ve gone back 35 seasons and in 31 of 35 seasons the Big Ten POY was on a team that finished 1st or 2nd in the league. The Big Ten POY has NEVER been on a team that finished outside the top 5 in the league and has NEVER been on a team that didn’t have a record better than .500. So a big piece of determining the Big Ten POY is figuring out what teams will finish at the top of the conference. Guys Garcia, Osobor, Barnheizer, Matinelli, Harper, etc aren’t going to win POY unless they manage to get their team to finish in the top quarter of the conference. Big Ten POY simply isn’t coming from a team that finished 12th in the league and doesn’t make the tournament.

but but but Braden Smith is best player in the Big Ten.
not even close lol
No doubt
@@jackfekete4123 big ten player of the year is NOT having a scoreless game. That’s unacceptable if you are a “ BIG 10 POY LOCK “
@drewcassis503 against...Marshall? Where they won by 35?
I'm not saying he's the definite Big Ten POY, but his name deserves to be mentioned

Brooks Barnhizer is clearly a top 5 player in the big ten. He will be drafted next year
