    Buying files on Etsy for a laser, 90% of the time is mostly a waste of money. *HOWEVER* buying files from Valley Forged are a *BARGAIN.* They are *PROVEN LASER FILES* and not just a graphic designer _claiming_ they work on a laser! This is an *incredible deal* Eric! The idea of setting your own price is also a game changer! I had a Patron who I gave a similar idea to last year, and she now uses it for all of the products she sells at craft shows!

      I agree that a lot of times people get caught up on files/planes/whatever. I'm into lasers cncs 3d printing and woodworking. I see a lot of people always asking for files/plans. I get it for big/unique type of things. But it's the basic things that I think going by files/plans just hold people back. Like it's far better to follow a tutorial than just run others plans.

    Have watched your videos for some time with great interest. The our father crosses interest me. I live in the Chicago area with many Christine gifts shops through the area. Do you think there is a big enough market for the crosses to buy a Roly 30 possibly the new wide unit and do this as a major side hustle?

    • @ValleyForged
      @ValleyForged  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, it would be just fine in my opinion. In fact, I think the quality of the machine/bearings are more important as it is moving so fast between holes. I would be more afraid of a 10w with rubber wheels.

    I would like to know the process of how to glue things together. I have tried several types of glue which none of them I like so far. What do you use and how do you stop the excess from oozing out around the edges and looking ugly?

    • @ValleyForged
      @ValleyForged  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on the product. I use titebond wood glue for just wood things with tiny sponge sticks (craft store) to apply it evenly. I wipe the edges with my hand then wipe on a paper towel. Wood glue seems fine for doing that. For the bottle openers I use superglue, and sometimes for other things I need precision. For leather I use aqualim 315. I will think about making a video showing this. :)

    Hi, I would like to buy your $8 pack but have a qut, I've been lasering the Our Father Cross and I n more times than not the tiny printed line gets charred or burnt completely. The line"as we forgive those who" can you eliminate the line further down where it says "for thine is the kingdom ....* And just leave the amen, so the upper letters would be larger? It is all about settings my friend. There was a time I was having the same issue, until I got my settings right. It is very hard for me to figure it out over comments. Your type of laser, wattage, type of wood, speed etc...It may be you have to run double the speed, but two passes. If you are under 300mm per min. is when burning often happens. And you MUST be using air. I find lasers dangerous to cut without it.

    • @ValleyForged
      @ValleyForged  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, you kind of have to go by what people will pay. I would say it depends more on what show you do than trying to sell for super cheap. Sometimes I make more money on $5 keychains as they cost next to nothing to make.
