Would the mk2 30w be able to engrave stainless steel or sterling silver?

I have been doing laser engraving for my business for about 3 years now. You solve the production speed by buying 4-5 machines. And i am able to get more done in a passage of a week. Another thing to keep in mind. The price. If you buy CO2 for $500 you will be limited with the size of application you can engrave on. Vs. Diode laser where you can buy one for the same price that can engrave on bigger plaques.

I was keeping an eye on the diode laser market for a couple of years waiting for a machine to sit alongside my beloved prusa mk3 3d printer as a dependable workhorse that gets all the basics spot on, and i know that i can disassemble and fix if i ever need to. When the XW was announced, i knew it was the one for me, and i havent been disappointed! Beautiful piece of hardware for the money.

The big question is, do you like this more than the Roly? Because you have been a harden Roly advocate for a long time. I am curious to know what you think.

I am working with very thin (1 oz.) leather and want to know if you can print images on it such as your logo on your thumbnail wallet. Is there a video? Thanks

I still have an open frame unit with a soft enclosure. I was doing some belts for christmas gifts and it dawned on me that with a fully enclosed unit it would be hard to manage a belt within the enclose whereas with an open frame, it the belt can passs freely under the soft enclosure. Can the Roly units be removed from their enclosure ?

Got an MX2 last Jan. has been flawless. Two other 20watts not used since.

Useful comments. Thanks. A bit more power could be useful. The one thing that bamboozles me is the bed size… this one gets CLOSE but so many others miss by a mile. Sheet material is often sold in A2 paper size ≈ 600x400mm. It’s a pretty useful size. It’d be really smart to have a machine that fits this standard.

Thanks for this video! I've been trying to decide what laser to get. I have an Xtool D1 and want to upgrade. I like Lightburn and am learning more about it. I've been looking at the XW and am glad you went more into depth on it. When I get a new laser, I'm pretty sure this will be what I get. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

I have the xtool d1pro (10 watt) and been really happy with it, but my next one will be the Mk2 XW, probably the 10/30 watt combo one.

XCS is terrible compared to lightburn. And this is coming from someone who has a F1. Lightburn is way ahead of XCS. I use lightburn on my F1. The shortcut commands the drawing capability and tracing with lightburn are just so so so much better.

Is your acrylic sheet a regular color orange or is it specific for the laser light? Thanks

I have been looking for months at all the different companies. 2 questions I keep forgetting to ask. Can you laser on Transfer film for T-shirts? Can you laser directly on T-shirts without setting it on fire? I am looking at buying the 20-watt and I am wondering do I need to buy the 2-watt laser also for Jewelry (rings, bracelets etc) or can the 20-watt handle it? Any help is appreciated, thanks

I've been using Red wing leather cream and a tooth brush to clean the smoke off of the leather. works great.

How do you think this would work without venting to the outside world? I live in Minnesota where, in an average winter, we can get into the double negative digits in temp. Having a vent system going out a window would not be conducive to those temps. Do you think this, or something similar, could filter air to safely redistributed into the room?

How do I determine the hole size to cut for saddle stiching in leather with a 20w diode laser. Is there a simple rule?

Hi ..I have th Atezr L2 36W laser to currently experiencing no firing or cutting which i think my lens is damage... which i tried contacting Atezr for parts without reply from them..... i need your help to either get the lens or buy a laser head as replacement to get my laser back working order. Atezr does not reply to customers

It seams logical that when you cut, the lens stays clean. When air assist is on, the dirty air can’t enter the laser chamber. No matter what power.

I have a xtool d1 pro 20w diode laser. Do you use air assist when doing card stock?

This looks like a great file. As a beginner. I was going to try and cut it out of Basswood first. Is the wording square so I could make a solid back piece? I have another file, which is terrible, so I couldn't back it without it looking off center. Thanks.

My two trees TS2 bit the dust and I was desperate to complete a project so I picked this up on Amazon. 20w -$299. For $300 this laser is impressive. I already had the enclosure and honey comb. Their air assist that comes with it works great. I would recommend this laser. Of course get an enclosure and the correct glasses.

I love all those fancy acrylics that you were showing from Craft Closet. But do you happen to know if those are all cast acrylic? I tried some non-cast acrylic on my Glowforge Spark, and it just melts. But I’ve been successful with engraving and cutting black cast acrylic, and it cuts and engraves with no problem. It looks great! So I’d like to try some of these fancy ones, but I don’t want to spend the money until I’m sure they won’t just melt. Thanks!
