Floor wrote this song way back in the days of her first band After Forever...she wrote it for her mom, who suffers from (if I recall correctly) rheumatoid arthritis. There's a lovely video on YT of Emma Heesters performing this song for Floor on the TV show Beste Zangers. Emma's rendition was so beautiful it brought Floor to tears.

As a 66 year old man, who had been very athletic my whole life, from my days playing American Football, baseball, slow pitch softball, and playing golf....I understand what Rheumatoid Arthritis can do to your body. I take 3 different medications for the pain and calm down the R.A. flares. Anyone who has R.A. understands.....as there are no real external signs.. Floor is just a special woman!!! I would love to tell her how much her much her music helps me keep my spirits up, and how I have learned to overcome the physical and emotional pain through prayer and not letting the pain overwhelm me.

Every time I listen to this song I cry. It is so deeply felt by Floor - in documentations I have seen her together with her parents, they obviously have a strong loving connection. And the words give me the motivation and courage to let my own physical problems not rule my life and especially my connections to other people.

As soon as I saw the title of what you were reacting to here, I immediately said, oh OK, she's gonna cry. There's no way around it. Simple fact. She's gonna cry. And we're all gonna cry with you. Even Valkyrie Goddesses cry, as she does at the end. This song really speaks to me, as I know what that constant pain is, 24/7/365 for years on end. No one can see it on the outside. Nothing doctors can do to help. Most of them just conclude that you are a nutcase. So, one just sighs and closes the door behind them on the way out. When your feet hit the asphalt in the parking lot, the doctor has already forgotten you and moved on to the next patient. But you are all alone again on that asphalt, as you walk back to your car to go home with the pain. You just have to become stoic. Try to ignore it, but you can't. So you hide it and suffer in silence. Lots of family and friends around you, yet you are entirely alone. Those of us who know arthritis wish we were young again. 😢 On a lighter note, is that a new microphone? I love the metallic blue color! I thought it was silver in previous videos. Maybe I just never paid attention to it until today! 🙂
