Notice in the background, where Tuomas mouths 'Wow'! to Troy, after Floor's performance. They knew they had witnessed something special. Even after listening to Floor countless times, they are still impressed. As indeed, are we all! Floor is a once in a generation talent, imo.

This is the one song in Nightwish's catalog that makes this man cry. Being full aware of her vocal range and capabilities, especially in the operatics, while the original lyric video was a feast for the ears, witnessing Floor perform those operatics actually live during their live virtual event, it did bring me to tears and has brought the emotions out ever since.

9:19 right at the end, I just LOVE how Tuomas said WOW to Troy, after that spectacular end of the song, another version that I really like is from their Hellfest concert, because of the lighting, the golden light showered Floor with its beautiful glow during the last part, Laudato Si Ad Astra and the way it was shot, made her look like a complete goddess

I must APPLAUDE YOU! You are turning into one of the Nightwish Army now, red-headed girl :D
You have already made your own decision to go outside the "Beathen path" and doing your OWN research!
WHen you said you hoped it would be a phone recording so you could see the "Real" perfomances to see if they could manage to get it to sound good on an iphone, I actually yelled "YES! YOU GO GIRL!" because I was so excited to see a reactor deciding to do something completely different from everyone else. And to watch your pure joy... WELCOME!

Greetings from the UK. I don't mind admitting it but this song brings me to tears every time and I am a guy in his mid 70's whe over the years has heard all the great female vocalists from the late great Janis Joplin onwards. Nothing compares to the force of nature that is the fabulous Floor . Long may she continue to grace us with her presence and performances . I genuinely feel sorry for folks who have not yet heard that fabulous voice

I concur. Deichbrand 2022 is a great example of todays Nightwish. People are all too stuck at Wacken 2013. The likes of Deichbrand 2022 and Buenos Aires 2018 are so much more nuanced performances. Someone really should do full concert reaction to Deichbrand..

When I saw them about a week or so after this was recorded, I had just about the same view. What I can tell you is that them live is even better that what this phone recording can show. When you are there, every time Kai hits a drum, every chord that Emppu hits, every note floor sings it hits your chest and makes your entire being vibrate. It sounds absolutely perfect. I am man enough to admit, that after the show waiting to get out of the parking lot, I teared up as it was so emotional. Once you get to The Greatest Show on Earth (the last full song they play) you will see how emotional they can be..

    Hey Red nice reaction ❤
I think Floor has mentioned that this is one of the more difficult songs to sing. Because the text does not have as natural flow as most other songs and it was a real challenge to make it sound effortless, not just throwing out words to a beat. And that last part...wow..I heard it live last spring and you just stand there amazed staring like a fool your with jaw on the floor.
Love to see her happiness from the respons of the crowd, she is very down to earth and humble ❤

It is not even nine o''clock in the morning yet, and you coused my first Floorgasm of the day!! I can't help it. Those final notes from her and my tears run "horizontally" ..... I saw you barely kept it dry for " appearances" 😂🫣. I understand, the show must go on after all 😉. She indeed is a wonder. There are billions of people out there. But it is extremely unique that a singer can touch your soul like that. And at the same time staying herself, remaining humble and pleasant....I love her for that. Can't we use her as a not so secret weapon and sent her to a guy called Vladimir for instance? She will melt his heart. I know a couple of other candidates as well. It will turn this rock into a much more peaceful place.

Hi red,It's a epic song but, a fan phone recording is not really doing justice to this song,it's a kind of okay that you have somekind of perspective from the audience standpoint, but phones can't record the whole frequentie spectrum so,it makes it sound "flat", Hellfest or Deichbrand would have been the better option.😉

Looking at the Goddess on stage, one could hardly imagine that SHE could be impressed by anyone, right? And yet, the whole reason she decided to front a metal band was another fantastic singer (and a redhead, incidentally :), the legendary Anneke van Giersbergen whom she saw perform in 1996. If you’re interested in the history of female-fronted metal (in the Netherlands specifically), check out a band called The Gathering some day. “Travel” or “On Most Surfaces” from their TG25 concert would be a good start, I think. Cheers!🤘

Probably not the best live version of that song on TH-cam. But that said, this one brings me back to the 7 May 2022 (in Montreal), when i went to see Nightwish live; finally with Floor for the the first time.
And Yes as always, i was again crying even before she pronounced her first 🤩🤩 "Laudato"😍😍!

I know exactly what you mean by wishing you were in the audience. I cannot wait until NW start touring again. Great reaction. Keep up the great work. Greetings from the NW Army (Sydney AUstralia Division) 🇦🇺🤘

Great reaction, I did say to only react to live performances from Nightwish! If I were you I’d go back to the general’s (Gabriel) list. The reason for this is you might go forward too far and then return to old songs, that won’t be the same excitement as you’ll have seen to far forward. Don’t forget Shoemaker is relatively new song, and you haven’t heard many of the older songs. Running with the list brings you forward with the band with Floor’s time! This is why our General gave you the list, to show you the way. Obviously it’s up to you? 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Floor is the queen of metal. All fans say that. She is so an amazing singer, the best on earth. Can you listen to Elan next?

What I've always loved about Nightwish since I found them (WAY too late.....sigh) is that there's always a vicious, violent beast on the stage with them, but it's rarely let fully off its leash....gently but tightly controlled, doing the bidding of superlative musicians. JEEEEEZ, but they're good.

Nightwish & Floor, they are giants in the studio, live they ascend to legends. Also, a good choice to react to the Toronto version.

In the last couple decades, a non-pitch corrected performance has become a rarity in the main stream 'music biz'. Today's big stars seem to be all about glitz, choreography and marketing. The singing quality is almost an after thought. Singing that would not have been tolerated 20-30 years ago is now deemed good enough because it is "corrected" with pitch correction software and fixed in the studio before being released. Luckily there are still plenty of talented people... it is just that the music business (big record labels) don't promote new artists anymore. TH-cam is a way of self-promotion and channels like your's spreads the word. 😀

Yes, the words from Romeo and Juliet have been spoken by Johanna Kurkela, the wife of Tuomas Holopainen. In Finland she is a famous singer. It was said for some time that this song cannot be performed live at stage but Floor managed it. Did you see even Tuomas say "Wow" to Troy after Floor has finished this difficult ending?

I heard somewhere that when Floor was given the vocal melodies and lyrics she exclaimed "Where am I supposed to breathe". I believe Floor really pushed to include this song in the Human Nature tour setlist. After their successful debut of it in the first virtual concert in May 2021 it was madea fixture of the tour setlist.

@@erickvermeulen9734 Also - she sings for Eye of Melian, which is a lot like AURI, but based on Tolkien. Martijn Westerholt (brother of Robert of Within Temptation) is the main composer. Johanna is, indeed, amazing, as she is in AURI. Can you imagine a child of Johanna and Tuomas? Musical genius like Mozart!!
