- A brief background on "Knockdown" coatings and what you need to be aware of when considering a "resurfacing" solution. Resurfacing is a great way to save money versus demolition and replacement! However, make sure you're a candidate for resurfacing first, and that you use the right products to do so. Thanks! (888) 776-2242 . www.encorecoatings.com
This answered a lot of my questions about my current knock down with your texture, thank you for making it clear!
You’re very welcome. Call me anytime !
I’m grinding off knockdown to bare concrete before applying Cool. Some areas grind down easily other areas do not. Is there a trick to getting the knockdown off in stubborn areas? Will Cool adhere if there is a thin layer of knockdown left behind and if so will it show through after applying Cool?
I just measured my existing KoolDeck surface and it’s roughly 460 or 470 sq ft. Is there a way to add more paint or something to make 2 Cools be enough?
Hi Jeff! Thanks for this video. I’m located in Tucson. My kooldeck is in decent shape, it’s an ugly color though and I want to coat it with your product. I did the tap test and it all seems to be structurally sound. There are a couple of minor areas that need patched. What is the best way to do that? Do you have any recommendations for me for products or sources?
Sanded grout, made by “PolyBlend” is a great choice for patching old knockdowns! Replicating the texture is the tricky part. Use a hopper gun, or a dash brush to glob / shoot it on there, then “knock it down” using a trowel to achieve the knockdown texture. Experiment on cardboard first before moving to the deck. Thank you!!!
