- We are back with some new competition for the 2023 Sticky Tire Shootout. UTV Sticky tires are one of the best performance modifications that you can make to your Side by Side if you like to hit technical rock trails or do some RZR Rock Crawling. Big thanks to All Things UTV for getting us a test set of Maxxis Roxxzilla tires and mounting the MRT Rocky RX and Motor Race Tire XROX DD stickies on wheels for us so we could get this shoot done with such short notice. Last but not least big thanks to Nitto for sending us some of their coveted 35" Nitto Trail Grappler SXS K Specs for this test. @@BustedKnuckleVideo so I was planning on getting a set of X-ROX DD in 32". Now I'm reconsidering🤔. It's a gamble that they will improve after break in and how much will they improve. They are expensive tires to gamble on.
@@Indianahillclimber I still think they are good tires just more of an open tread pattern. Lots of races have been won on them.

we have only done these sticky tire shootouts so far, I think out of these the zilla would do the best. But maybe you need a more aggressive tire.
I went the pro r zilla route and I'm happy with my choice but definitely up to try the nittos later. I almost went nitto first time around and chose zilla instead for sand hollow riding.
Interesting. I haven't used anything but zilla at sand hollow. We will see how these Nittos do there later this year.

Great video but one question. Why does no one test the grip on the sidewalls? I ride Tackett Creek and I am constantly using the sidewalls on my rockzilllas to stay out of the bottom of the rutts.

Excellent video! Question for you guys, is the Nitto tire you tested part number 209500? Is it actually considered a sticky compound? or this the rumored K spec sticky that only race teams can get? Thanks!

@@BustedKnuckleVideo shoulda got same sizes, i know theres about 1'' difference, in 35,s. but, 3''.??.. plus different hight gives different block spacing..good vid, comparison, do bfg have a tire.??. im in aus,,we dont have atv,s here..we dont have real 4x4rs,,we dont have open trails, all getting closed down,,we dont have a real 4x4 industry..just sht laws.. i have, 62 f100 4x4, 75 f250 highboy, 82 sas bronco, 02 s/duty 4.2tdi brazilian build. look them up.. i only found 1 tire that was 35''..at 35''.. dont take 4wd 24/7,,as a bench mark,,there sponsored,,were not..

We need you do the same demostration but with RZR drive belts! I know it's more difficult but all owners of rzr's will love to know the best one. I'm tire of changing belts so often!

You should do this test at sand hollow. After all the tires have 500 miles on them. Be fun to watch

There is still a huge difference between tires at Sand Holllow and Moab. Just do a test trying to crawl the bottom of YOU GOTTA BE NUTS or HANKS HILL for example.

Has anyone on here ran the System 3 xc-450? I have a set on my KRX4 and am curious how they’re going to do at Windrock. I have a set of 35”Crawler XG’s on my 2 seater and they do great but I don’t like that they don’t measure at true or even close to 35”. Thank you guys for all you do

Just got back from windrock running the xc450 in a 35 and they did great for a non sticky
So the Roxxilla in this test was the competition ?
I'm most likely gonna try the Roxxilla competition in a 32x10x14 on Scrambler XP1000 S that is 58" wide and 70" wheelbase and thinking about making it
75" wheelbase .
I climb 5 hills now no problem and even climbing stuff that the SXS guys can't because a ATV seems to have better traction with big tires and less weight.
Have done a lot of modifications in lowering the CG and Highlifter transmission gear reduction.
The Zillas are great tires and so are the nittos
simple green does wonders for new rc tires grip, i bet it would do well for 1:1 too

Simple green DOES do wonders for rc tires but it will also break down the rubber so they don't last as long-
On vehicle rubber and extended use im pretty sure it would lead to premature catastrophic failure.
They do use tire compound enhancers in kart racing but it's often banned, I'm guessing for the same reasons.

X-rox is definitely the stickiest tire but they are definitely a crawling tire for sure
Yeah they have a pretty open tread pattern in comparison to the others tested so they performed as expected on the concrete slab.
The Nitto is basically squared off. So, with all else being equal, it would naturally have the most tire patch touching (and most traction).
At 8 psi they should be pretty close but I see your point
It's also the narrowest so defeats your point
There also a LT DOT approved too
@jeffreyvian not really- narrow tires get greater contact patch in length and all else being equal it will still average the same size contact patch

I can’t get over how those tires are 72-75 lbs. My 33” System3s are 33.25” tall and weights 58# with 12# air pressure. I’m running System3 RT 320s and a Alba Racing Crusher 15x6 BeadLock Wheels with 4+2 offset. Really enjoy y’all’s reviews.
35s on cast aluminum wheels are heavy across the board. Worth the added clearance though IMO. We have another MRT tire that is actually 10 lbs lighter than these.
When we going to get another tire shoot out with all the new tires that came out last year ?

The wheels were very similar if not the same. It will not skew the results much at all. If you want to send us 4 sets of wheels next time we will make sure they are all the same. LOL
I wonder if the nitto's didn't feel as soft because they have a weight capacity of 1500lbs per tire while the roxxzilla's are like 700 per tire.
I wasn't able to see if the toyo's offered their tire in different compounds but it looks so far like the have a single conpound, so I'm guessing that is k spec?

I noticed y'all don't run with spares. What do you do if you get a sidewall gash? I only ask cuz this recently happened to me without a spare. Tried plugs but they wouldn't hold. Had to crawl 10 miles back to my trailer. @@BustedKnuckleVideo

These guys like sticky tires only. It’s their opinion on what most people want to see. We should all appreciate what they do for us because we all either can’t afford this many different tires or flat out don’t have the contacts that they do. Thank y’all for what yall do for us. I do wish y’all would try the Obor Roc Monsters and the System3 XCR 350s because they are killing it at Moab, Disney, and Wind Rock. I just got a set of the System3 RT 320s in 33x9.5-15. I needed a DOT tire because I like to ride to my trails. Sometimes the cops do pull you over and check for that in Moab. If you ride in Moab, please stop accelerating hard on the streets threw town because you are the ones making it worse for the entire UTV community.
Our plan was to test the Obors but due to some naming issues we ended up not getting a set, soon they will be rebranded as a different tire name and will not longer be called the Roc Monster. We like Sticky Tires because that is what we run and what the majority of people around us run as well. That being said I am happy to do a tire test with any tire a company wants to send me.

What about tire pressure? That info would be helpful too. Judging from the sidewalls, not all tires were inflated the same. Keep up the good work!

They mentioned that in the video- different tires won't flex the same at different psi- the same tire of the same height but different width won't flex the same at the same psi either.
True. The Kevlar MRT suffered the most as they like lower pressure

I have read something about a red dot and the side lugs on a sticky can be squeezed together.

Sticky tires aren’t meant or legal for the road.

Should be able to do those on the next one, there was some issues getting them for this test as they are getting renamed

Weight comparison should be with the same weight rim….
lets be honest most of these cast aluminum wheels weight very close the same. Now if a company wants to donate 4-5 sets of wheels then we can get that precise.

How were we shunning? These are the top rated sticky tires. We compared them apples to apples. No matter what we do there is always some reason to complain. 😂
