How much is it to park/launch there? Love the videos and how you show the whole deploy/takedown and not just the fight!

So there is a slight grey area on this. If you have a boat and trailer, use this link for fees: mukilteowa.gov/departments/recreation/parks-open-spaces-trails/lighthouse-park-public-boat-launch/
(the grey area (my understanding))If you are launching a kayak and parking your car normally you don't have to pay unless you are still parked after 8:00 AM. After 8:00 AM it is $3/hr for up to 4 hours.

beautiful Coho, congrats. I'm planning to head there tomorrow or Sunday but I dont have a downrigger. any recommendation on how to get the lure deep? (I use snapweights for up to 30 feets)

also, what speed do you recommend? please? :)

      Thanks!
Getting deeper without a downrigger is tricky due to the larger flashers and lures we use to catch the Salmon. When my downrigger has been out of service I have used up to 16oz weights to get my gear deeper. Then it's a matter of working out the actual depth which isn't easy. The Troll Master Depth Calculator app is helpful for this, though you really need the paid subscription to get the most out of it. Alternatively you can calculate the depth by the angle of your main line and the amount of line you have out. I do this with my downrigger line to adjust for blowback of the ball. Lastly, I know some people that utilize divers to get their gear deeper. I haven't used them myself but have heard good things.
The fish I caught today was hooked at right about 35 feet deep in about 500 feet of water. So you don't need to go much deeper to get into a fish. This seems pretty consistently true in area 8-2 out in front of the Mukilteo lighthouse launch.
My speed varies from 2-2.6 MPH. I have hooked fish at even slower speeds. Once even sitting still in the current.

Use a dropper lead or a deep six diver in front of your flasher, troll around 3 mph for coho, the faster the better for coho. Good luck, I’m heading out tmrw too.

is that a Gibbs "Fish Whacker"? Trying to find something to dispatch fish in the kayak and the bats from bass pro are a bit too big and cumbersome

just looks at a past video that you made. i am going to try this out this weekend just for fun. I have been catching lots of fish with spoons and hoochies.

@@livinglife2535 yeah, ace hi flys and coho killers also get the job done. In my experience the brads superbait rig has produced more bites. To each their own, though. I’m certain there is a better rig than all those lures out there that I haven’t tried yet. 😁
